Grungy Aries Card

Hello! We hope you are having an awesome weekend! The sun has been shining here in Wales, spring is finally here… YAY!

We have lots of fabulous inspiration to share with you here on the blog today, kicking off with a brilliant card from Heather Mitchell…

Hello everyone,

Heather back again with a new make for Visible Image!

I’m sure you’ve come across Visible Images’s gorgeous Zodiac stamps by now and if not you have to check them out – they make birthdays super easy!  This month is Aries and one of my oldest friends has her birthday within this month and I thought the Zodiac Aries stamp set  would be just perfect for her.

The background was made with Distress Oxide ink pads and I’ve randomly stamped Fibonacci in areas using Wow! embossing powder in Metallic Platinum. Using white and silver Distress Spray Stains, I’ve gently flicked some ink over the top to break up the grid on the stamp.

Then, taking some of the excess background card, I’ve stamped the Ram’s head several times using Opaque Bright White embossing powder (from Wow! again) and then layered the head using foam dots.

Lastly, I added the sentiments (not all are from the Aries stamp set as I chose personality traits from the other sets that suited my friend).  These were, as before, stamped onto spare background card and matted onto card, they were then attached using foam dots to add a bit of dimension.

A super easy card but it looks pretty special and even better as it means something to the person it’s made for.

Take care and catch up again soon xx

Love the grungy-ness of this card with the pink! Thanks Heather ♡

My Pisces Son

Hello! The sun is shining here in South Wales and we have some fantastic inspiration from Jane Tyrrell here on the blog today…

Good morning, it’s time for my weekly dose of Visible Image inspiration and for today I can finally share the card I made for my son for his birthday on 24 February.

Daisy (my granddaughter) helped me make a quick lemon sponge birthday cake for her uncle (my son is not a fan of cake and this was a version he prefers of my standard Victoria sandwich cake). She so proudly carried it in..

and helped him blow out the candles..

We had such a fab day together, special family time.

So now to share his card!

I used the following stamps…

Pisces from the Zodiac collection..

and Elemental background stamp..

Plus the Time Tunnel stencil..

I made my background with acrylic inks plus some Lindy’s sprays which have a gorgeous sheen. It’s so hard to show in a photo taken in the evening when I was working.

As it was A4 size I cut it up

I added some background stamping using elemental

and some stencilling using white ink.

I stamped and embossed some of the fish and all the Pisces words onto black card and fussy cut them out.

I then put my card design together…

As I had some spare pieces of this background I also made a bookmark for him. I added 2 fish..

and cut up the letters of the Pisces word and mounted them on snippets of black card..

Here are both projects together…

A close up to show the cool elemental stamped background…

and a final collage…

My daughter is also a Pisces and her birthday is coming up next week, so I will be sharing a very different Pisces card for her next Monday…. she now lives at the seaside, so I knew the just the theme to use.

Enjoy your week, we have a very special little 4 year old visitor coming to stay today until Thursday… yes my darling Daisy Jane. No doubt the minute she gets here she will want to start some crafting 😁
Must dash, I have a sweet girlie to collect….

Back soon.

Bye for now,
Jane x

Colours of Capricorn

Hi there!! Thanks for visiting our blog today. We have been catching up with all the latest Design Team inspiration while ‘snowed in’ here in Wales!

Our final post today is a bright and colourful card from Pauline Butcher…

Hello, it’s me again,

it’s still cold..so another crafty day for me !!!

It’s my turn to share something cheerful, using some awesome Visible Image Stamps.

The stamp set I used here is
Zodiac Capricorn

The background was created using Distress Ink re-inkers, although you could do the same with the ink pads too, just add some water, and using a paint brush, drip it down the card.

The Capricorn’s head is on a piece of card that I smooshed through the left over ink, and heat embossed the goat using black embossing powder.

I stamped on the background using Oxide inks.

Thanks for your visit.

Hugs Pauline xxxxxx

Awesome drippage Pauline! Love the layering of the Capricorn stamp, it looks fantastic!

Kind Modest Virgo

Hello!!!! We hope you are enjoying all the gorgeous inspiration we have been sharing here on the blog this week! We stay with our ‘Written in the Stars’ theme for our next post, as Pauline showcases some of the demos she created on Create and Craft TV recently…

Hi there my Crafting friends,

It’s time for a little bit of ‘Visible Image‘ love! I have used the super ‘Zodiac Virgo‘ set on this simple and quick card…

I used some Squeezed Lemonade, Picked Raspberry and Seedless Preserve Oxide inks for the background, putting them onto a glass mat, and dragging the card through it, I then flicked some water at it, using a fan brush.

I stamped the Virgo head and all the sentiments, using Black Versafine Ink, onto a piece of white card, then coloured them with Distress Inks, and fussy cut them.

I stamped the dates and ‘Virgo’ along the bottom of the card, again using Black Versafine ink, highlighting them with a white pen, I also stamped the smallest constellation along the top. I then added all the elements with some 3D glue gel.

Thanks for visiting.
Hugs Pauline xxxxx

LOVE this card Pauline! Miss Virgo looks beautiful, and the star constellations look like they are dancing!!

Galaxy Skies

Hi there! Josefine is back with her second project to inspire you today…

I bet you have tried several ways of creating a galaxy sky background. I did too. With water colors, Ken Oliver Color Bursts and now I also tried it with Paper Artsy Infusions. And what to do with it? Yes! Using it for the new Visible Image Zodiac stamp sets. For today’s card, I used the Gemini one. Why? Well, I’m a Gemini 😀

To show you how easy it is to create a galaxy background with the Paper Artsy Infusions, here is a quick tutorial. I picked a mix of blue, purple and pink colors. The exact ones are listed below.

I sprinkled a mix of purple and pink onto a piece of card stock. To reduce the mess, I put the paper into a tupperware box. Then I spritzed water on top using my awesome super fine mister.

Galaxy background for Visible Image Zodiac Stamp

While the paper was still wet, I sprinkled the other colors on top till I had the saturation that I wanted. Then I heat set it. There was still so much gorgeous color left, so I decided to dip the paper into the left over color inside the box. I’m so glad that I did that, because it added the perfect texture.

Galaxy background for Visible Image Zodiac Stamp

I needed a few stars, so I sprinkled some white paint all over the paper.

Next up, I wanted to stamp the Gemini star sign. I wanted to make sure that it sparkles and shines in all its gorgeousness. The Emerald Creek Gold Sparkle embossing powder was the perfect pick for my sparkling focal point.

Then I stamped some of the sayings to the inside of the card.

At the end I adhered the galaxy background onto a black piece of card stock and both onto a white card base.

I hope you enjoyed my super easy galaxy background with the Visible Image Zodiac stamp for the Gemini sign. 🙂

Get The Balance Right

Good Afternoon! We have more gorgeous Zodiac inspiration for you today. Pauline Butcher has been playing with our Libra set…

Hello!

I’m back again to show you something that I’ve created using some awesome Visible Image Zodiac Stamps.

You may have spied this on our last TV show on Create & Craft, I used the ‘Libra‘ Zodiac stamp set, along with the big background stamp from the Somewhere in Time‘ set.

I created the background, using some acrylic paints, loads of colours just daubed on randomly.

On top of my background, I stamped the big background splat stamp with an embossing pad, heat embossed it using Fluorescent Green Embossing Powder. I also stamped the dates, and the constellation again using an embossing pad, but this time I used Fluorescent Blue Powder.

On a separate piece of shiny red card, I stamped and heat embossed the scales, with Black powder, and then fussy cut them. I used 3D glue gel to add them to the card.

Thank you for popping in.

Hugs, Pauline xxxxx

First up Elisa Ablett is here with some awesome zodiac inspiration…

Hi everyone,

These stamps are so versatile.. so far the team have made cards, tags, mixed media projects, a wall hanging, journal pages – so you can see they are well worth it!

I am featuring the Zodiac Capricorn Stamp Set on a galaxy art journal page along with the Believe in Unicorns stamp set, and a texture background featuring water colour crush powders plus wax kitchen paper.

I also have a second project on offer featuring the same stamp set! a mixed media tag with alcohol inks and acetate and gold foiling.

Inky Leo

Hello! We are back with more fantastic inspiration this evening!

Sharon Traynor has been creating the most amazing cards with our Zodiac stamps, and she has a brilliant video tutorial for you today too….

Hi there! Today I’m sharing an octagon shaped card that I made with the amazing Visible Image Zodiac Leo stamps.

Honestly, I have been really impressed with the versatility of this particular set and I’ve been busy making quite a few cards with these images.

I made a video whilst I was making this card…

On the main panel, stamp the large Leo image in clear ink and heat emboss with white embossing powder. Colour the image by scribbling distress markers onto a craft sheet and watercolouring with the ink, adding a little definition around the eyes and ears. Cover the image with masking fluid  and set aside to dry.

Whilst the main panel is drying, create the base mat by wetting the water colour paper and adding distress stains. Wet the area of the card that you want to be all inky and ‘pounce’ distress stains over the area. Dry with a heat tool and when almost dry, spritz water on it to create some added interest.

Add colour to the main panel in the same way: wet, pounce, dry and spritz. Rub a little chipped sapphire distress ink around the edge of the main panel with a blending tool.  Stamp the Leo word and dates in place with memento tuxedo black ink. Leave to dry completely.

When dry, make a mask for the Leo image from a post-it note (if you removed the masking fluid too early) and cover the image up. Stamp the constellations around the Leo image in clear ink and heat emboss with white embossing powder.

Attach the main panel to some white card and using a perfect layers tool, trim it so that there is a 1/16″ border of white. Add all the layers to the card blank.

Use some microglaze on the lion image so that the distress colours won’t start to wick and move when they get wet again. Then add stickles to the mane around the lion face and let dry.

The ScanNcut instructions for making the card blank and mats are in a post where I used the No Space for Dreams set. You can see those by clicking HERE!

Stamps Used:

Other Supplies:

Versamark clear ink, Wow! Ultra bright white embossing powder. Distress Markers (spiced marmalade, carved pumpkin, ripe persimmon, rusty hinge), masking fluid, Distress Stains (ripe persimmon, shaded lilac, chipped sapphire), Distress Ink (chipped sapphire), Memento Tuxedo Black ink, Perfect Layers Ruler, watercolour card, 3dfoam.

That’s it from me for now.
Thanks for stopping by and I really hope to see you again soon.

Hugs,
Sharon xx

Artistic Pisces

Hi there! We have some fantastic Zodiac inspiration here on the blog today! Over to Jane Tyrrell who has been incredibly creative (as always!) with this project…

Good Evening,
Today I am sharing my Pisces tag…

I made an underwater inky background on my tag using salty ocean and broken china distress inks. I used the Zodiac Pisces stamp set. It is one of the 12 brilliant new stamp sets from the ‘Written in the Stars’ collection…

You will spot that I used another of the new stamps on my tag..

I used the cracked glass stamp from the How Fragile set.

I stamped and embossed it onto heat resist acetate and had my distress inked fishes swimming out from it. I fussy cut my fish which were also inked with distress.

I stamped and cut out 3 of the 5 words which also come with this great set. I linked everything up using the fun star constellations using red Versafine Clair. I die cut and added a snippet of inky mop up card too.

Here are a couple of close ups..

and one last shot…

Have a super week ahead.

Back soon,

Bye for now.
Jane x

Wow!!! How clever to have the fish leaping out through the crack! Love this tag so much..

Zodiac Taurus

Hi! We are back with another super stunning card created with our BRAND NEW ‘Written in the Stars’ stamps!

Sharon Traynor got her inky fingers on our ‘Zodiac Taurus’ set…

Hello!

Today it is the turn of a new collection called Written In The Stars..

These are amazing zodiac stamp sets with a fantastic geometric look. I love that each set comes complete with two sizes of the main image and two sizes of the constellations, as well as the name of the zodiac sign, the dates and some incredible words too!  The elements in each of these sets work incredibly well on their own, or mixed with other sets in the collection as well as working with other completely unrelated stamps. Personally, I think the words are going to be SO useful.

As soon as I saw these stamp sets I knew they would look stunning as light up cards, and they do!

So here is the fabulous Taurus stamp as a light up card. Taurus is going to be a great stamp for me as I have a husband, a daughter and a grandson all born under that sign.

I had to take that photograph at an angle to pick up all the silver embossing and dots of sparkle.

The background on this card was created by pouncing distress stains onto wet watercolour paper and whilst drying (when almost dry) spritzing water on to created droplets. The water colour card was then left to completely dry before stamping and heat embossing the large Taurus image, ‘Taurus’ and dates with silver embossing powder.

The points that I wanted lit up like stars in the Taurus image were pierced and I water coloured the inside of the Taurus image with distress stain to make it stand out. Above is the unlit version and below you can see it lit.

The Taurus constellations were heat embossed with white embossing powder and then random dots of stickles were added to give a hint of shimmery shine, representing more stars in the universe.

A circuit was created on another piece of card using copper adhesive tape, a battery and chibitronics lights, making the ‘Taurus’ word on the card the piece to press to trigger the circuit and make it light up. The water coloured card was attached to the circuit card with 3d foam and it was all adhered to a card blank.

Then I heat embossed the words on plain white card and cut them out to add onto the front of the card.

Inside I used the small Taurus symbol with the happy birthday sentiment from the Go To Words set.

These NEW stamps will be available for pre-order from 12th January!

Other Supplies:

Sentiment stamp used inside the card:

 https://visibleimage.co.uk/product/go-to-words/

White card, Watercolour paper, Distress Stains (wilted violet, faded jeans, peacock feathers), Water spritzer, Versamark clear ink, Stampendous detail silver metallic embossing powder, Wow! Ultra bright white embossing powder, heat gun, Stardust Stickles, copper tape, disc battery, chibitronics lights, foam tape, double-sided tape.

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Hugs,
Sharon xx

It’s an 8’x8’ canvas and I’ve used a range of acrylic paint from Amsterdam and Pebeo dyna paints. It’s basically a mix of colours surrounded by dark navy and black and heavily flicked in white. The stamps were heat embossed using sparkling silver wow powder. The images were highlighted with gems and hey presto your own little galaxy!
