Definition of a Sister

Hello! So sorry we have missed a few days posts.. it’s all been a bit crazy with the Black Friday SALE.. website crash (BIG thank you to Patrick for getting it back online quickly!)..  and this weekend we have been moving into our fabulous new premises too! Photos soon!!!

So, we now have lots of inspiration to share this weekend. First up, here’s Sharon Traynor…

Hi there. I’m popping on here today to share a fun tag that I made with my Visible Image stamps.

I don’t usually make tags but when I do, I completely cover the tag with layers of ink. I love all the rich, warm colours on this one.

Here’s how to make it.

Stamp the profile image and words (links to the stamps are below) with clear Versamark ink and heat emboss with white embossing powder.

TIP: Be sure to choose the smoother side of the water colour paper for stamping. If you choose the bumpy side it is difficult to get a full image.

Wet the watercolour card and pounce distress stains randomly on the card. Whilst drying spritz with some water droplets. Using the Cosmic Skies stencil, brush through it with carved pumpkin (on the yellow parts) and candied apple (on the orange parts) around the face image.

Next brush through the Fibres stencil with rusty hinge distress ink. Then randomly add parts of the Sister Definition words inked up in rusty hinge distress ink, and random bits of the splodgy parts of the face image in candied apple distress ink.

Cut the embossed part of the inked watercolour card into a tag shape and blend vintage photo distress ink around the edges. Add co-coordinating coloured ribbons and 3 co-ordinating heart charms.

On the leftover pieces of inked watercolour card, draw round some stars from the Stars and Stripes stencil and fussy cut them. Add the cut out stars to the tag using varying heights of 3d foam pads. The final touch is to dot gold stickles around the areas of stars.

I hope you like this tag and are inspired to make one of your own.

Fight Back The Tears

Hello! We have double inspiration for you here on the blog today, as we took a (sneaky) day off yesterday!

Veerle Moreels is here with a gorgeous tag…

We all have those moments where life is a bit of a struggle, even sometimes a hell of a hard fight. A fight to keep standing up with your back straight and your head held up high while life keeps throwing challenges at your feet.

With some of those personal challenges in mind I created this project.

I chose some words from the ‘Disguise of a smile’ set that were perfect for this project and combined them with some background stamps.

Disguise of a Smile

And then the choice of the colors, I know… you didn’t expect me to use bright pink right ^.^

Even though I don’t use bright pink a lot, for me personal it does have a meaning. Pink is that color I’ll turn to if I need a reminder to stay positive, no matter how dark it becomes around me.

I loved how the little blank spaces in the universal circle also gave me the chance to play with the amount of black in this project…

Background stamps used:

Mesh-ellaneous

Universal

Beautiful tag Veerle.. loving that hot pink! Thank you ♡

Wings of Protection

Good Evening! We have Veerle Moreels here on the blog today with a really beautiful tag…

I love bringing elements together that tell a story, that tell a part of MY story. And I know not every story is obvious for everyone, but it doesn’t have to. A lot of times I see people are trying to copy someone’s project because they think they should create on the same level as someone else because they love what they see.  And it’s ok to love what you see and try to get a hang of those techniques so you can use them yourself. But I hope everybody knows that it’s alright to just stay yourself and create what you want or need to create. That you can tell your story just as beautiful as anyone else because it is put down with your love and it is you.

I think this project is an obvious part of my story. My two biggest angels protecting my 3 golden treasures…

You have got to love the versatility of the Visible Image stamps and how they give you the possibility to create so many different styles of projects. I went for using parts of sets to create my project (sets shown below) but take a look at the other projects over in the galleries to see how bold you can go if you want to.

Stamps Used:

Angels are Near

Sparkle in the Rain

Father Definition

Mother Definition

What a stunning tag! Love the story behind it too.. ♡ Thank you Veerle!

To Create is to Escape

Hello! We are back with our 2nd post today! Jane Tyrrell has an amazing tag to share…

Good Evening, I am back with my weekly dose of Visible Image inspiration. We are still enjoying a glorious autumn full of sunshine and rich deep colours all around.

The leaves on the trees are stunning

I am sharing a tag today which gives a nod toward Halloween but still embraces the rich colours surrounding us.
I wanted to use one of the older Visible Image stamp sets as it also reminds of the gorgeous woods we walk our son’s dog Bear in.

I used:

with one of the new release quotes

I also used the Fibres stencil as it has such an organic feel to it like the branches of the trees.

This is what I got up to…

I took some autumnal coloured distress inks

and using the wrinkle free technique inked up my tag.

I then added some extra colour using my stencil and some rusty hinge and wilted violet distress inks.

I die cut some leaves from inky mop up card, stamped them with VI words and added Crackle glaze to get that great crunchy leaves effect. I also stamped, embossed and cut up the Create to escape words so that I could arrange them on my tag.

I then put on my creative hat to put my tag together.

I placed one of the crunchy autumnal leaves into the beak of the bird.

Here is a close up

I hope you are still being inspired by the colours of autumn too?

Thanks as always for stopping by today.

Back soon,
Bye for now,
Jane x

Love these colours! Awesome tag.. thank you Jane ♡

Summer Moments

Hi! We have some gorgeous summery inspiration from Corrie Herriman here on the blog today…

Hello everyone,

Today I have a tag to share for Visible Image. I made this way back early August as I am away in sunny (one hopes) Brighton at the moment!

After cutting a tag out of watercolour paper I dunked it into two of the new Distress Oxide colours; wild honey and twisted citron. Once I was happy with the background I stamped it with one of the flowers of the ‘Imperfection is Beauty’ stamp set, using the same inks. While the ink was still wet I sprinkled clear embossing powder over it and heat embossed it.

I then added some white splatters.

I then stamped the sentiment and the dragonflies from the ‘Live in the Moment’ set. I clear embossed the sentiment also. The wings were then stamped again on book paper and adhered over the ones already on the tag. A ribbon and some doodling around the edges finished it off !

I used the following stamps:

Live in the Moment

Imperfection is Beauty

Thank you for stopping by today !
Corrie

Loving that background! Thanks Corrie!

Reveal Yourself

Hi there! We are back with more fabulous inspiration for you here on the blog today!

Veerle Moreels is here with a stunning tag….

It’s no secret I love all of the Visible Image stamps and I love creating using their word stamps. That’s no secret either ^.^

Today I focused on this “Own it” set. Beautiful words you can use just as they are. But they can be easily be combined…

And of course this new text needed some color and the Face it stamps…

Stamps Used:

Own it

Face it

This is so striking! Love how you used just part of the face and the quote works so well. Thank you Veerle ♡

Dance Dance Dance

Hi there! We promised you more awesome inspiration so here we are delivering!

Check out this amazing tag by Teresa Morgan…

I have never considered myself to be a ‘girly’ girl, but I fell in love with the Born To Perform stamp set when I first saw it.

Today’s project is a bright and colourful tag using some of the stamps in this set:

2017-02-09 Visible Image - dance - inky ballerina stamp - Teresa Morgan

I die cut a large tag from black card using my Sizzix Alterations die, then stamped the word ‘Dance’ onto strips of white card using Distress Inks. Once these were trimmed to size I glued them in place then stamped and embossed the ballerina over the top. Some rainbow ribbon completes the project.

We will be back tomorrow with some Face it! inspiration from Pauline.

See you then!

Battle Scars

Hi there! We have more gorgeous NEW stamps inspiration for you here on the blog today.

Veerle Moreels has been creating with one of our beautiful new quotes…

Did you see the new stamps Visible Image has released? If you haven’t, you really should go and check them out. As a member of their DT, I was already sent some of these beauties but they are available to pre-order and will be mailed 13th of February so the wait isn’t that long anymore.

I had so much fun creating with the new stamps and my head is filled with a lot more ideas, but that shouldn’t be any surprise when seeing the designs.

For my first project I’m sharing with these new releases I chose for a text stamp to that many of you probably can relate to…

Now I could have just sewed my scar using an needle and thread, but my scars are strong and holding me together.

Halloween Tag – Visible Image

Hello! Thanks for coming to visit us here on the Visible Image blog today. We have a fantastic tag from Elina Strömberg to share with you today…

Hi

Only a week to Halloween! Wow!

Even if Halloween is not such a big thing in Finland I can feel the Halloween excitement rising as my kids are making plans for their Halloween parties. Their joy and eagerness is so contagious.

I haven’t made too many Halloween themed paper crafting projects in the past, but the recent stamp set, ‘Mr Bone Jangles‘ by Visible Image got me inspired. Funny how those skulls and skeletons are at the same time creepy and cute! I used the large skull for a Halloween themed tag:

visible-image-mr-bone-jangles-skull-tag-elina-stromberg

The size 8 tag base is die-cut twice; once from orange cardstock and once from black texture paper. Before attaching the tags I tore the paper on top and bottom edges, revealing a bit of the orange background after the tags were glued together. While waiting for the glue to dry I dry brushed a hint of white gesso on the black background. A very thin layer of white gesso is always an easy way to highlight the main items.

I stamped the skull on white cardstock and coloured it with grey and yellow markers. After colouring I removed the eye and nose areas with a crafting knife and fuzzy cut the skull out. For creating more dimenstion on the card I pressed the edges of the skull with a stylus, and attached the image on a piece of black cardstock with 3D foam pads.

The little spiders I had bought from a local ‘Tiger’ store that sells fun decoration items for low prices. After gluing them on the tag I brushed some white gesso on them, too.

The tag turned out just the way I wanted. Creepy spooky, but fun!

Wishing you a sunny October day! Thanks for visiting my blog!

Learn To Fly Again – Visible Image Stamps

Hello! We’re back (as promised!) with more fabulous inspiration!

Over to Pauline Butcher…

Hi there,

I’m back again with a tag I’ve made, using an awesome set of Visible Image Stamps. This is one of the brand new designs, that are ready to pre-order now!

The set I’ve used on this tag is ‘Learn to Fly Again‘.

Visible Image stamps - Learn To Fly Again - Birds and feather stamps - Pauline Butcher

I used Distress inks for the background of the tag, the brighter the better, lol, and blended them together. I stamped the birds onto heat resistant acetate, using Versamark, then heat embossed using a gold sparkle embossing powder. I cut the acetate close to the outside birds and attached it to the tag with 3D gel.

On a separate piece of card, I stamped the feather in various colours to match the background, and a few in the same gold embossing powder, I then fussy cut them all, then made a nest with some corrugated kraft card and garden twine, and added some gold glitter too.

The sentiment was stamped onto Kraft card using Versamark, and heat embossed with white embossing powder, and torn around, I added some tacky glue, and some gold glitter to make it pop.

Pop over the the webshop and check out all the fantastic new Visible Image designs HERE.

Mark and I will be demoing some of them on Create and Craft TV, on Sunday 14th February (Yep, Valentines Day) at 10am.

Catch the programme on SKY 674, FREEVIEW 36, VIRGIN 748 or FREESAT 813.

See you again soon,
Hugs, Pauline xxxx
