Shine Bright

Hi 🙂 Thanks for visiting our blog today.

Teresa Morgan is here with a fabulous new card…

I can’t believe that it’s Thursday again already and here I am sharing another Visible Image stamps project with you all.

This time I used the ‘Shining Bright ‘set of stamps and kept with our July challenge theme of ‘A Splash of Colour’.

I do enjoy creating CAS (clean and simple) cards – it makes a change from my usual inky mixed media style. The lights and words are stamped with black Archival ink, and I used a water brush and Mustard Seed Distress Ink to colour the lights in. A touch of Black Soot Distress Ink around the matted sentiment just pops it of the page. The ‘wires’ are just drawn in with a black pen and ruler.

Stamps Used:

Shining Bright

Great card… sometimes ‘simple’ is all you need! Thanks Teresa ♡

You will find more of Teresa’s inspiring projects over on her blog.

As you may know, we are escaping away on holiday to beautiful Ibiza…

so we won’t be blogging for a few weeks. But do not worry… we will be catching up with all the amazing Design Team projects on our return.

Shine Bright

Hi there!

We are all loaded up and ready to leave for the Crafting at Ally Pally show this weekend… very excited! We will share lots of photos on our return!

Pauline is here on the blog sharing an awesome card today…

Hi there,
It’s Fabulous Friday, the gateway to the weekend, and it looks as if the weather is going to be lovely.

Anyway, it’s my day to share a project I’ve made using some awesome Visible Image Stamps.

I used two stamp sets on this 6″x 6″ card…

Shining Bright and the moths are from Glimmer of Light.

I used a Kaleidacolor Ink Pad to do the background wording, stamping the sentiment where ever it would fit,
I then blended some Distress inks around the edge’s. The lightbulb was stamped with versamark onto heat
resistant acetate, and heat embossed with black embossing powder.

I then fussy cut it, and coloured the back of it with alcohol pens.

I used the small moths out of the ‘Glimmer of Light’ set, stamped them with Versafine,
and coloured them with Distress Inks. I of course added Stickles, there has to be a little bit of ‘bling’ in our lives !!!!
If you are anywhere near Alexandra Palace, London this weekend, Visible Image has got a stand
at ‘Crafting at Ally Pally’, pop along and say hello to Helen and Mark, on Saturday 8th April or Sunday 9th April…
I wish I was going !!!!

Thanks again for popping in, hugs, Pauline xxxxx

Amazing card.. loving that background! Thank you Pauline ♡

Shine Bright

Hello! We hope you have enjoyed seeing all the latest inspiration our amazing team have been creating with our NEW stamps!

This final post is sharing a few of the incredible cards created with our NEW Shining Bright stamp set.

Shining Bright Promo

Just look at the clever designing by Mark… LOVE the rays of light over the word SHINE and the lightbulbs are awesome!

The quote is so inspiring and the words mean so much to us.. especially at the moment!

‘Don’t let someone dim your light simply because it’s shining in their eyes’

(keep moving ahead and let your light shine even brighter!)

These stamps also work brilliantly with another very popular set we released last summer…

Glimmer of Light

Created by Nicky Gilburt: I found my UTEE and made a quick stencil by stamping
and cutting out the lightbulb on spare card. Then, once I’d coloured it, I coated it with Versamark and got melty!
Stunning effect on the lightbulb! Thank you again Nicky ♡

Brightening Your Day @ Visible Image

Hello 🙂 We are back with more brilliant inspiration for you!

Elina Strömberg‎ has been creating the most amazing cards with our NEW stamps…

Have you been following the product release news in the Visible Image Facebook group over the past days? Don’t the new February release items just get your creative juices flowing! If you want to get a good overview of the entire product release just follow this link to see them all!

I was very lucky to have the chance to play with those goodies already a few days back. And here’s a set of three cards I made:

The versatile Shine Bright stamp set was perfect for playing with watercolours. I started with stamping the lightbulb image on heavy watercolour paper, and continued with covering the edges with masking fluid. Masking fluid protected my lightbulb when I started adding yellow and orange watercolours on the background.

2016-02-10 Visible Image stamps - Shine Bright - light bulb stamp - Elina Stromberg

Once the watercolour was dry I wanted to add more texture on the background, and used yellow ink and a mask to draw light beams around the lightbulb.

I finished the card by colouring the lightbulb with water soluable crayons and white gesso, and heat embossed the ‘Shine Bright’ text on the card front.

Orange and yellow were the main colours for the following two cards, too. The adorable 80’s look of the cassette in the ‘Just Hit Play’ stamp set made me choose a bit retro colour palette with several yellow and orange tones. (Or maybe it was the rainy and grey winter weather that asked again for bright sunny colours, lol!)

I started the CAS style card with stamping circles on the background. I stamped the image one more time on a piece of scrap paper, cut out the center of it, and used the piece of paper as a mask when colouring the circles. I did not colour all the circles as I wanted the background to have enough white in order to keep the look light and airy.

Stamping the quote on two lines only required some masking, as the stamp holds the texts on four lines. For alining the texts perfectly I could have used a stamp placement tool, but I did not mind that the lines were jumping a bit.

I used a piece of white vellum as quote background. Vellum is an easy way to calm down a busy background and to highlight elements like this quote text.

I often continue the card front pattern on the inside of the card. I think it gives the project a nice finished look. This time I simply cut a slip of white cardstock, stamped the same circles images on it, coloured them with yellow ink, glued the strip on a piece of vellum, and adhered it on the inside of the card. Done!

2016-02-10 Visible Image stamps - Just Hit Play - scribbled circles stamps - Elina Stromberg

When inking the yellow and orange background of my second ‘Just Hit Play’ card I used a strip of scrap paper as a mask. When finished I splashed some water on the inked surface, and after drying with the heat gun the light splash marks created a nice texture on the colourful background.

2016-02-10 Visible Image stamps - Just Hit Play - cassette tape stamp - Elina Stromberg

Then I stamped the cassette image on white cardstock, cut it out, and glued it on a piece of corrugated cardboard. 3D stickers would have worked just as fine, but cardboard is a much cheaper material when you need to lift a larger element from the background. Under the cassette there’s some black sewing thread that I glued down with tiny glue marks.

I’m sure I will use both of these new stamp sets not just for creating more cards, but also for decorating my scrapbooking layouts and art journal projects. The images are stunning, and I know they both will be a big hit!

The above cards were made using these Visible Image products (click on the pictures for more info):

Wishing you a nice and bright day!

Monday Inspiration Part 2 @ Visible Image

Good Evening! We are back with our second dose of awesome inspiration here on the blog!

Over to Kim Bacon…

How wonderful are these new stamps from Visible Image?

My make this week uses the totally brilliant light bulb.

Visible Image stamps - Shine Bright - Light Bulb stamp - Kim Bacon

I used Brushos (do I use anything else?) to make the background in shades of green and yellow along with the Grunge Polka Dot stamp.

Using black embossing powder I then stamped the light bulb onto white card which was then coloured in using yellow Brusho.

The sentiment was stamped onto yellow card also using black embossing powder.

I glazed the light bulb once I had cut it out, using a glazing liquid. I have some very old Diamond Glaze but you could do it using clear embossing powder I suppose.

Steampunk Monolith – Shine Bright – Visible Image

Hi there!

It’s been a little crazy here over the last week, with the launch of our NEW designs for pre-order! And making all the stamps for our upcoming show on Create and Craft TV… so sadly the blog has been neglected!!!

However… our Design Team have been really busy creating awesome things with our NEW stamps so we have loads of amazing inspiration to bring you over the next few days!

Here’s Teresa with BRAND NEW stamps and our BRAND NEW product…

I am thrilled to be sharing a project using one of the new stamp sets that will be released on Create and Craft on Sunday 14th February. This set is called ‘Shine Bright’ and is such a cool design!!

I have used the stamps to decorate an MDF ‘Monolith’….what’s that? you say…..

Teresa Morgan

I base coated the MDF with gesso then added a couple of coats of DecoArt Copper paint. The MDF cogs and pipework (Calico Craft Parts) have been given an antique brass effect using Gold and Quinacridone Gold DecoArt paint. I added the verdigris effect with Patina Antiquing Cream.

Visible Image Stamps - Shine Bright, Monolith

I wanted the light bulb to stand up by itself and my acetate was too thin, so I stamped it onto Shrink Plastic (do NOT shrink it!!) and cut out. I coated the front with Glossy Accents and attached vellum to the back for the opalescent effect. Some silver foiling on the screw thread added to the realism. The sentiment was embossed in gold onto copper pearlescent card.

Visible Image Stamps - Shine Bright, Monolith

Thanks for stopping by today and don’t forget to watch the show on Create and Craft TV…. 6 new stamp sets will be launched ahead of the UK Trade Show where all 30 new designs will be available to retailers.

It’s going to be an exciting year for Visible Image, some amazing new stamps…feature images, backgrounds, words, and much more….

Isn’t this awesome! Loving all the cogs and that copper paint is divine! Thank you Teresa ♡

You will find all our NEW stamps HERE… they are all now available to pre-order!
