Happy Heart

Good Evening! We are back with more fabulous inspiration this evening.

Heather Mitchell has been creating fabulous texture with our ‘Fibres’ stencil…

Hello again everyone,

I’m back again with my latest make for the Visible Image DT and this time I’ve concentrated on texture using the stencils and the background stamps… and who doesn’t love a bit of texture!

I started by  adding Distress Oxide Ink Pads to watercolour paper to create a watery background and then, using the ‘Fibres’ stencil, I’ve applied modelling paste.  Once fully dry, more colour has been added before flicking white Gesso over the 8×8″ background.

I love the added texture the stencil gives over the already textured background

You can see from the photograph, I have then used various stamps to add yet more layers before stitching around the corners to frame the card.

Once the background was a wash with colour, gilding wax was added to some of the raised areas to add a muted sheen

I’ve then randomly stamped the number stamp from the ‘Somewhere in Time‘ set before adding the parallel lines from Sparkle in the Rain and the script from ‘Scripted Sheets‘.

The heart was die cut from watercolour paper before having the colour applied

I didn’t want to add too much more detail to the card, so kept it fairly simple by adhering a die-cut heart that has been coloured and then had a thick layer of crackle paint added.  Again, I love the extra texture this adds, especially as it’s flaking away in parts.

To finish the card, I added a simple sentiment courtesy of the ‘Just be Happy‘ stamp set which has been backed onto black card and adhered to the card using 3D foam dots.

Regular followers will know what a huge advocate of texture and layering I am and the Visible Image stencils are perfect for this.  When combined with the stamps, the images you can create are never ending!

And here’s the list of the lovely ingredients I’ve used:

Visible Image products:

Showcasing Veerle Moreels!

Hi there! We hope you are having a great Saturday.

This weekend we are showcasing some of our favourite cards and projects from the awesome designers who are staying on the team.

Next up is the incredible Veerle Moreels!

My name is Veerle, I’m married and proud mom of 3 teenagers and I live in Belgium.

I’m a kindergarten teacher but I don’t teach anymore. I kind of rolled in the creative world when my kids were young and I had to find a way to take on all the photo’s I made of my children. That’s when I discovered scrapbooking and it all started for me. I started as a scrapbook consultant for a company in The Netherlands and internet brought me to mixed media and cardmaking today.

I love trying out all kind of different techniques and materials so I end up with all different styles of projects. My personal style however is the less cute style but slightly rougher style. Even though I do like to make CAS cards as well.

Here are just some of our most favourite projects from Veerle, who has now been on our Design Team for almost 2 years…

You will find more of Veerle’s beautiful projects over on her blog.

And of course you will find all the stamps used in these projects over in our SHOP!

We look forward to sharing more wonderful inspiration from Veerle over the coming months.

We will be back tomorrow with some stunning projects from Jane Tyrrell and Eileen Godwin.

Showcasing Pauline Butcher!

Hello and happy weekend to you!

We have announced the TEN amazing new designers joining our team, so now we are showcasing some of our favourite cards and projects from the awesome designers who are staying on the team…

First up is the very fabulous Pauline Butcher!

I discovered card making and paper crafting years ago, and couldn’t get enough of patterned papers, and then stamping came into my life, which is now my passion. I demonstrate for Visible Image on Create and Craft TV and run my own ‘Inky Workshops’ in Warwick and at venues around the UK.

Here are some of our most favourite ‘Pauline makes’ (there are just so many to choose from as Pauline is in her 5th year on our Design Team!):

You will find more of Pauline’s stunning projects over on her blog.

And of course you will find all the stamps used in these projects over in our SHOP!

We look forward to sharing more gorgeous inspiration from Pauline over the coming months.

Thank you for stopping by today.

Welcome Heather Mitchell!

Hi there! We are really excited to announce the last 2 awesome designers joining us here at Visible Image to inspire you over the next year!

First up today is Heather Mitchell who lives in the UK…

Hello everyone… My name is Heather and I am super chuffed to have been chosen to be part of the amazing Visible Image DT.  I’ve been crafting for about 8/9 years although I’ve always been drawn to creative pursuits and as a small girl was always drawing/colouring painting.  I studied textile design and surface pattern for 4 years after leaving school and this has totally influenced the way I work as I love to layer papers and images and add textures to all my makes – it just feels naked otherwise!

I live in Surrey with my partner and our two naughty little Dachshunds, Stan and Syd, who are often found asleep in the craft room under their duvet while I work.  I work full-time for London Underground so my days can be nights and nights days but I always try to find time to create as it keeps me balanced and sane… I honesty don’t know where I’d be without my craft room retreat.

I’m so looking forward to working with Mark and Helen and the Visible Image team as I’ve been an avid watcher from the wings for a while now and just love what everyone creates… I’m a little excited to be chosen as part of the new team so bring it on!!

Here are some of Heather’s stunning creations that caught our eye…

You will find more gorgeous projects over on Heather’s blog.

Welcome to the team Heather! ♡

We love Heather’s style… all that texture & colour, and her ‘inky’ backgrounds are fabulous!
We cannot wait for Heather to start inspiring you with our stamps and stencils!

Come back later to meet the last NEW designer joining the team here at Visible Image…
and tomorrow we will be re-introducing the awesome ladies who are staying here on the team for the next year (and hopefully longer!).

Have a great Friday!

Mark & Helen xx

Welcome Josefine Fouarge!

Hi there! We hope you are enjoying all our announcements this week!

The next awesome designer joining our team is Josefine Fouarge who lives in the USA…

I discovered my creative side in 2014 when I moved from Germany to the US to be with my very supportive husband and our Rat Terrier “Freedom”. It started with simple layouts and handmade greeting cards and evolved into art journaling and mixed media over time. Today I love to experiment with different mediums and techniques (my favorite types of projects are messy and/or snarky) and inspire others by sharing my enthusiasm online and as a teacher in my local craft store Scrapbooking Forever & Crafts.

Here are some of Josefine’s awesome creations that wowed us…

You will find more gorgeous projects over on Josefine’s blog.

Welcome to the team Josefine! ♡

We love Josefine’s style, her backgrounds are just stunning.. all that gorgeous inky-ness!
We cannot wait for Josefine to start inspiring you with our stamps and stencils!

Good Evening! We have some beautiful inspiration for you from Veerle Moreels, featuring another of our new stencils…

Sometimes when you see something there immediately pops an idea into your head and you can’t wait to go ahead and give in to that idea. So I was very happy when the stencils from Visible Image arrived here at home. Yes you are reading it right: stencils from Visible Image ^.^

And of course I filmed my first play with the stencils…

That tiny spot in between the strobes is just perfect to put tiny elements in and get them in the spotlight. Keep an eye out because I still have loads of ideas for this stencil ^.^

Captured Moments

Hello! We are back this evening with an incredible project by Teresa Morgan…

My Visible Image project today is a mixed media Monolith full of texture and layers. This was produced for Craft Stamper earlier this year.

The background is created with layers of crackle paint and vintage ephemera, giving a feeling of timeworn decay. I stamped words directly onto the background as well as onto paper that was collaged over the ephemera.

Stamped words add interest to the background

My cage is half of a Christmas ornament, given a rusty makeover with paint and sand texture paste. Inside is a Prima lightbulb embellishment which I coloured with alcohol inks. My stamped moths are backed with gilding flakes for a beautiful metallic glow.

I hope you enjoyed taking a closer look at my piece today and are inspired to create something similar.

Stamps Used:

Glimmer of Light

Destination Unknown

Capture The Moment

MDF Monoliths

We adore this… so much to discover. Incredible texture and a brilliant interpretation of the quote!

Thank you Teresa ♡

Time Spirals

Good Morning! (or afternoon/evening!)

We have 3 amazing Design Team projects to share with you today, first up is an awesome MDF Monolith by Veerle Moreels…

When you first see new released stamps all those ideas start spinning around in your head. Especially when seeing all these lovely words in the ‘Somewhere in time’ set. I’m a sucker for word…and have a soft spot for strong words.

And one of the first ideas when seeing the clock in ‘Ahead of our Time’ was this… trying to create a fossil look. As the shape of this clock immediately reminded me of that shape of old fossilized shells.

To get the word time to pop up I stamped it onto paper and fussy cut them out. Another layer of texture ^.^ Remember the June challenge over at Visible Image is called ‘dimension’ …you can still join in for your chance of winning a £40 coupon!

The complete project was made onto a monolith so I can put this little reminder out to see every day. Now to figure out what to put on the back ^.^

Billy’s Summer Garden

Hi again! Wow we are spoiling you with inspiration today!!!

Up next is Jane Tyrrell with a superb project featuring our awesome Curious Cats stamps…

A while back I shared a sneak peek of the Visible Image Designer 3D challenge feature for Craft Stamper Magazine. This piece is also very relevant inspiration for the “dimension” challenge running over in the Visible Image Facebook group. All the details and links for this will be at the end of this post.

As you may know, my garden is a constant source for my crafting inspiration. Billy my cat is also a constant shadow out there and he really loves the summer months when we spend many pleasant hours outside.

Billy has a friend called Blackie who visits, so when it came to choosing a set of stamps to work with for my project, I did not hesitate to chose this one…

the amazing Curious Cats set…

I used a Visible Image MDF Monolith and added some die cuts for initial texture

and gave it some colour using these “garden inspired” PaperArsty fresco paints.

I also added some texture paste through my dots and floral stencil.

To give me this base.

I added some shading and the fun paw prints from the set

I stamped my Cat face and carefully applied it.

I then stamped a small dragonfly from the Live in the Moment set

I stamped, embossed and fussy cut out the small cats and die cut some floral elements

It was then time to put on my creative hat..

and here is my finished ‘Billy’s Summer Garden’ Monolith

and a few close ups…

I made a picket fence from coffee stirrers and added a texture paste path

and Glossy Accents to his eyes and his sweet pink nose….?

and to prove that Billy really has a friend called Blackie who visits I took this snap last week..

Thanks so much for stopping by today and for the very kind comments that you take the time to leave. Thank you also for all the lovely messages, texts and emails sent to me after seeing the Create and Craft show too. I love finding out that I can inspire people in their own crafting. I am happy to share my knowledge and techniques.. sharing is caring in my books and we are all on a fun creative journey.

Back soon.
Bye for now,

Jane x

Live Life

Hi there! Wow summer is well and truly here.. we don’t often have such high temperatures here in Wales but it’s been scorching the last few days! We actually took some ‘time out’ over the weekend which made a nice change.

We are kicking off this week’s inspiration with a fabulous project by Veerle Moreels…

I love to pimp up objects and when finding this little wooden tool box I immediately knew what I wanted to do.  Sand off the text that was on it, give it a new coat of white paint and stamp it with Visible Image stamps ^.^

The original text was to big to put on the front but leaving the ‘now’ off still gives you a beautiful reminder.

Stamps Used:

Live Life Now

Love this Veerle.. what a great little box! Thank you for your fabulous inspiration ♡

Reveal Yourself

Hi there! We are back with more fabulous inspiration for you here on the blog today!

Veerle Moreels is here with a stunning tag….

It’s no secret I love all of the Visible Image stamps and I love creating using their word stamps. That’s no secret either ^.^

Today I focused on this “Own it” set. Beautiful words you can use just as they are. But they can be easily be combined…

And of course this new text needed some color and the Face it stamps…

Stamps Used:

Face it

This is so striking! Love how you used just part of the face and the quote works so well. Thank you Veerle ♡

Dream

Hi there, we have another incredible card to share with you today, created with our Face it stamps.

Over to Teresa Morgan…

Good Morning

It’s time for another dose of Visible Image inspiration from me. I have been combining the old with the new again this week and have a serene card using the fabulous new Face it! stamps.

I began by spritzing some acrylic sprays on my base card – yellow, red and a slight touch of blue. Once dry I added some larger splats with black, white and green acrylic paint and a fine brush. (Thin the paint with a little water, load the fine brush, then tap the handle to flick spots of paint randomly over the background.)

I stamped and embossed the sentiment onto white card then matted onto black and set aside.

Once completely dry I stamped and embossed the face with black embossing powder, and the Visometry stamps with white embossing powder. I wanted some dimension to the card so embossed some of the smaller shapes onto heat resistant acetate and layered over the larger ones with 3d gel. Some super sparkly Prima gems in the centres finished the card.

Stamps used:

Face It!

Visible Image Face It eyes face dream COL stamp set

Own It!

Hello everyone,

These stamps are all from the newest release.

I painted the background with acrylic paints.

Here’s a detail of the little sparkly bits around the ballet dancer. They are so much more sparkly in real life !

Next up here on the blog we have an awesome card from Teresa created with our Face it stamps!

Mark & Helen xx

Face it… she’s fabulous!

Hi! Thanks for coming to visit our blog. We are having a massive catch up of all the latest Design Team projects,
after neglecting our blog for a few weeks!

There have been so many amazing cards and projects created with our NEW Face it collection,
and Nicky Gilburt is here with a very special canvas she has created with these gorgeous stamps…

Hello and today I am sharing with you my very first ever canvas, created with the Face it and Create It Stamps by Visible Image.

It measures 20 x 20cms and was created in an evening with plenty of stamping, colouring and cutting, and lots of fun!

I simply stamped the features onto the canvas, using a large stamping block behind it, to get a good pressure with my stamp, and coloured from the edge with shades of green distress ink and a blending tool and paintbrush to keep the edges soft.

I added crackles from the fabulous ‘create it’ set, and if you look closely, you’ll see I coloured the eyes in purple,
just to reflect the other-worldliness of the girl. (I also did this on very thin card which I then stuck to the canvas,
so that I could capture the accurate detail of the iris and pupils).

The flowers were simply stamped in Distress ink onto thin card, and then coloured with a waterbrush. I used all three sizes of flower from the Create It set, on some of them, to build up depth a bit more, then finished off the centres with Liquid Pearls.

For the leaves… I simply stamped the flowers in green, and from each flower I snipped out two pairs of leaves and one single, which, by the time they were strategically positioned behind the petals, were unrecognisable as the same thing!
The finishing touch was the butterfly, Visible Image of course, from the ‘Own Kind of Beautiful‘ set from last year.

I am so excited about this project, and even more so that it was featured in the Visible Image Create and Craft TV show
a few weeks ago. I have never seen stamps like this, with which you can construct both human and feline features
(and look out for a mixture of both from my fellow Visible Image design team…!)

Stamps used:

Face it

Create it

Own Kind of Beautiful

Feedback from the release of these sets has been phenomenal, particularly because the crafter can choose the level
of difficulty – she looks as beautiful just stamped onto plain white, or softly coloured paper, as she does all adorned with flowers! So I can’t wait to see lots of interpretations shared in the Visible Image Facebook group.

Happy crafting!
Nicky

Thank you Nicky for this gorgeous project, she looks fabulous surrounded by all those flowers and the pretty butterfly ♡

Swim Deeper

Hello! We are back with more gorgeous inspiration as promised.. show much to share with you today!

Over to Dot Leathbridge…

Dare To Swim is one of the new stamp releases from Visible Image.

Blue Bottles are the jellyfish in our region that we often see washed up on the beach… painful too if you go swimming when they are about! They are only tiny, but they pack a fair punch.

This set has everything! From jellyfish, to weed, to fish, to bubbles – along with a sentiment.

2017-02-26 Visible Image - stamps - Dare To Swim - jellyfish stamp - Dot Leathbridge

For this card my distress crayons were used for the background.

It gives a lovely muted look and reminds me of what it looks like underwater.
The drips are done with the crayons too – so versatile!
