Play Guitar!

Hi! Hope you’re well.

We had such a great time at Create and Craft at the weekend! Lots of sell outs which was amazing! If you tuned in.. thank you!

Pauline Butcher is here on the blog today sharing one of the fantastic samples she made for the shows…

Hello,

My inspiration today is a card made using one of the awesome new stencils and a brand new definition stamp…

The new products I used were…

Play Guitar stencil

and Son Definition stamp

The background is blended Distress Inks: Peacock Feathers, Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed,  flicked with water. I put the stencil over the top, and inked through it with Chipped Sapphire.

I stamped the Son definition onto a piece of white card using Versamark, and heat embossed with Black Embossing Powder, I inked the edges, and placed the stencil on it, and inked through one guitar person, using Candid Apple. I went around all the edges of the background, and the definition with Versamark, and heat embossed with a silver sparkle embossing powder.

Thanks for popping in.
Hugs,
Pauline xxxx

How cool is this background! And the sentiment looks awesome! Thank you Pauline ♡

Brilliantly British

Hello there! Thank you for visiting our blog today! It’s been a Bank Holiday weekend here in the UK so we have enjoyed a day off, and had a BBQ in the sunshine with the family!

It’s not like the British weather to be sunny on a Bank Holiday… so it was awesome! Talking of British, Jane Tyrrell is here with the very first sample showcasing our brilliant NEW Grungy Union Jack stencil! Over to Jane…

Good Evening!

Today I have a bit of a red white and blue theme going on…something patriotic!

Visible Image have brought out a brand new range of stencils and the first I have had the pleasure to play with is none other than the brilliant Grungy Union Jack which can be pre-ordered now!

Isn’t it gorgeous… I love those grungy drips. These have been designed by Mark and made for Visible Image by Tando Creative. They are fab quality and thickness, a generous 6X6″ size and are available to pre order here There are 10 designs, all are awesome, do check them out!

As soon as I saw this stencil I knew just which stamp would go perfectly with it…

yes the bowler hatted man from the Ahead of our Time stamp set.

I kept to the red. white and blue of the flag and inked it up using Distress inks.

I then stamped and embossed the man and added the flying birds… I had been up to London the day before and it got me thinking of Mary Poppins and “feed the birds”… yes I know it’s quite scary inside my head sometimes! I also used the very apt creativity sentiment from the Express Yourself set

Here is my first Design Team card using this awesome new stencil…

Meet Mr Union Jack ?

and here he is in close up

I am loving playing with these new stencils and have been making more samples for the next Create and Craft TV show on 8/9th September. I will also be sharing another of my stencil makes next week.

Bye for now,
Jane x

This is such an awesome card Jane and what a fantastic stamp for the flag! Thank you! ♡

Time is Ticking…

Hello! We have some superb Saturday inspiration coming your way today from Nicky Gilburt…

I’ve been playing with the fantabulous Ahead of our time and Alphabetical stamps from Visible Image, making up my own quotes using the letters, and backgrounds too…can you see the tick tock? Look into the image! Having all these possibilities allows you to really get creative. No constraints, no restrictions…think of something to say and say it!!

I inked up my backgrounds with distress oxides and splashed the card with water to get the bleached-out effect. I stamped my main feature with brown Nuvo Hybrid ink, I love this ink as you don’t have to think about what pens to use with them -it’s untouchable, there’s no ‘wrong’ medium to use! Alcohol or water-based pens – they can’t touch it!

I formed the words with the stamps. They look quite lively here, but once all the other elements are added they will become more of a background.

The masking of the frames from the alphabetical set resulted in a funky display of boxes into which I stamped my required lettering.

Adding extra stamps from the set, in dark colours, and shading from the outside in with distress inks, adds, I hope, to the depth of the image, or at least that’s what I tried to create! I also masked over the whole of the ‘MAN’ boxes to bring the letters to the foreground.

Stamps Used:

Ahead of our Time

Somewhere in Time

Alphabetical

Happy Crafting

Brilliant card Nicky! Love how you used the alphabet in the background for added interest along with the cogs! ♡

Timeless

Hello! We’re back with some awesome inspiration from Nicky Gilburt for our ‘Splash of Colour’ challenge…

The Visible Image ‘Splash of Colour’ challenge runs over in the Facebook group throughout July. All you have to do is make a card or project using Visible Image products, adding your interpretation of ‘a splash of colour’, and upload it into the dedicated album. I for one can’t wait to see what that looks like, once everyone gets creating! It’s going to be glorious!

For this card I used two set of stamps:

Ahead of our Time

Alphabetical

I also used 5 colours of Tim Holtz Distress Oxides and a Versafine Onyx Black ink pad.

First I ‘splashed’ my colour by laying a square of ink from a pad onto my glass mat and spritzing with a little water. I then used an old small poly bag to pick up the ink and apply it randomly around my cardstock. drying in between colours.

Once I was happy with my end result I stopped dabbing.

I used my Tim Holtz stamping platform to get a really good print from my bowler-hatted man. I did him three times to be sure but two would have been enough, as you can see, careful re-inking gets an incredibly black result!

All that remained was to use the letters and characters from the Alphabetical set to complete my project.
I also stamped the two past and future images from Ahead of our Time onto spare card and stuck them down with 3D foam.

I look forward to seeing all the contributions to the ‘Splash of Colour’ Challenge – don’t forget there is a prize draw at the end of it all too!

Happy Crafting
Nicky x

Love this!!! Brilliant background.. thanks Nicky ♡

You can find more of Nicky’s fabulous cards and projects over on her blog.

The extras in the alphabet set are so great for backgrounds, from the scribbled frames to the punctuation marks. Why not randomly jumble the letters up on your block to create your own unique background too!

Live Now!

Hi there! We are back with a superb project from Elina Strömberg…

Hi and happy Saturday!

Hope your weekend has started well. I’ve had a busy week at the office, but luckily in the evenings there has been some balancing time for crafting, too. That’s so important to me!

I wanted to show you my latest card project I made with new Visible Image stamps and Distress inks and sprays:

For colouring the background I used several colours of Distress sprays, mixed with water before drying with my heat gun. The main image is stamped and heat embossed; I have found that heat embossing works the best if you want to create a really dark stamped image on a mixed media background.

For decorating the background I used Distress inks and two new Visible Image background pattern stamps. The ink colours were the same I used for misting, as I did not want the background textures to pop up too much. The contrast between the lighter background and the dark black image was the main thing for this card anyway.

The circle on the man’s eye is a metal washer (one that you can buy at any hardware store). It’s original colour was silver, but as it did not match to the colour palette of my project I heat embossed it with gold colour embossing powder: I dabbed the washer on the VersaMark ink pad, dropped it in the embossing powder jar, and picked up using a toothpick. Heating the metal ring took a bit longer than usual, but the embossing powder melted beautifully on the washer changing it’s colour completely.

Such an inspirational card project to make! Hope you like it 🙂

Wishing you a wonderful day. Thanks for stopping by!

Time Waits For No Man

Hello! We hope you are having a great weekend!

Corrie Herriman is here on the blog today with her latest Design Team project…

Hello everyone,

I have an art journal page to share today using the lovely new stamps by Visible Image. I love the alphabet stamps, there are more than one of certain letters so that makes is easy to stamp words like ‘happy’ etc. I stamped them a little wonky but you can line them up really well.

I used a mop up page from my gelli print stack. I really like these; sometimes they are even nicer than the proper prints.

I added some background stamping using Archival ink and the pink clocks were heat embossed with pink embossing powder by WOW.

The letters are stamped on white paper, I then added the circles around them. There is a circle and a square in the set and the letters fit in there perfectly. I used a punch to cut them out.

I like my words to be wonky so I stamped them wonky on purpose. I added some white dots with a white pen.

That was it from me today ! You also still have time to play in our monthly challenge where the theme is ‘Dimension’. I have put my letters spelling ‘time’ on dimensional tape so they stand out more.

I used all three new stamp sets for this page:

Ahead of our Time

Somewhere in Time

Alphabetical

Fantastic page Corrie and love your caption! ♡

Book of Time

Hello and Happy Friday to you! Gosh this week has flown by…

We have some more awesome inspiration to share with you here on the blog, first up today is Teresa Morgan…

So, how do you like the new stamps? I love the time themed sets and have created a zig zag book to show off the wonderful words in the set.

Front and back covers…

My pages and covers are coloured with Distress Oxide Inks. I used more Distriss Oxide inks to stamp the numbers in the background, and used Versamark ink for the stamps I wanted to emboss in gold

The sentiments are stamped with Ranger Archival Ink.

Stamps Used:

Ahead of our Time

Somewhere in Time

Amazing project! How awesome does the gold embossing look against the oxides.. love it! Thanks Teresa ♡

The Name is Bond…

Hi there! We are back with our final post for today and it’s an amazing card by Dot Leathbridge…

I’m here with a fun card that I’ve made using all three of the NEW stamp sets from Visible Image.

Every time I looked at the sets I kept on seeing James Bond.  So that was the beginning of this card.  ‘James’ (from ‘Ahead Of Our Time’) is made using distress oxides and my Misti to create an interesting take on the gentleman silhouette.  The background is created using more distress oxides…

How awesome is the Alphabetical set of stamps though!  You can write absolutely ANYTHING with them.  There is no limit to what words you can make…

If you look closely you can also see the OO7 numbers scattered around the base of James…

And the large splat from the ‘Somewhere In Time’ set was used to create a border and to add some numbers to the background.

Just the edge of the spat in this set was used.  What I like is that you can use a little, or lot, of the splat to create a border.

Somewhere In Time

Ahead Of Our Time

Time Flies By

Hello! Another hot and sunny day here in South Wales today! But at least there is a little breeze today!

Corrie Herriman is up next here on the blog today, sharing an awesome card…

Hello everyone,

Today I have a card to share which I made for with some of the new Visible Image stamps.
I love them… so many possibilities.

I used one of my gelli prints. I love gelli prints…

I stamped the clock on it first then added the birds. I added splatters and doodling in white and black and added some background stamping too. Lastly I stamped the sentiment on white card, matted it on black card stock and glued it to the card panel. Lastly I adhered the panel to a white card.

I used the following stamps:

Time Spirals

Good Morning! (or afternoon/evening!)

We have 3 amazing Design Team projects to share with you today, first up is an awesome MDF Monolith by Veerle Moreels…

When you first see new released stamps all those ideas start spinning around in your head. Especially when seeing all these lovely words in the ‘Somewhere in time’ set. I’m a sucker for word…and have a soft spot for strong words.

And one of the first ideas when seeing the clock in ‘Ahead of our Time’ was this… trying to create a fossil look. As the shape of this clock immediately reminded me of that shape of old fossilized shells.

To get the word time to pop up I stamped it onto paper and fussy cut them out. Another layer of texture ^.^ Remember the June challenge over at Visible Image is called ‘dimension’ …you can still join in for your chance of winning a £40 coupon!

The complete project was made onto a monolith so I can put this little reminder out to see every day. Now to figure out what to put on the back ^.^

Incredible project Veerle.. what an amazing idea to create a fossil with the time spiral stamp! Stunning.. thank you ♡

Time…

Hi there! There’s lots of gorgeous inspiration coming your way here on the blog again today!

First up we have an awesome project by Elina Strömberg to share with you, created with some of our NEW stamps…

Hi!
The Visible Image June Facebook challenge is ‘Dimension’. I love adding dimensional elements on my projects, and the new ‘Somewhere In Time’ stamp set was just perfect for creating this 3D tag:

The clock is stamped three times, once on the tag, and twice on a piece of white cardstock. I coloured the white clocks with yellow and orange Promarkers, cut out, and layered the pieces on the tag using foam stickers. For the background I used several layers of Distress Oxide inks, and created some pattern using the new pattern stamp with numbers (included in the same stamp set). Before inking the background I masked the smallest clock pieces with masking fluid, and removed the fluid before starting the layering.

The quote is stamped and heat embossed on white vellum, and attached on the tag with two-sided tape.

I hope my dimensional project inspires you to play along our June challenge. Maybe you’ll be the lucky one to win a £40 coupon to the Visible Image online shop!

For more information on the stamp set I used, please click on the picture below:

Wishing you a nice day.
