A Splatter of Colour

Hello there! Happy Sunday! Hope you are having a nice relaxing day.

Veerle Moreels is here with lots of fabulous inspiration, and a video too…

I needed a birthday card for a friend and this idea that I had in my mind with the new ‘Somewhere in Time’ stamp set  was perfect for it. And after seeing the result I loved the card so much that I decided to make a new ‘one design five cards’ video. It had been way too long since I made one of these. So get ready because we will be inking a lot of stamps ^.^

I love this splatter as it is a perfect stamp to put something in the spotlight.  And just by changing the stamps you get cards for all different occasions ^.^  Oh and it fits just right into the challenge that is going on over at the Visible Image facebook group now too: ‘a splash of colour’. I hope you come on over and play along!

All the stamps featured are available in the Visible Image store ( links below) where they are shipped worldwide!
Or find them at your favourite Visible Image stockist!

Look For Rainbows

Hi there! Thanks for visiting our blog today.

Teresa Morgan is here with more awesome inspiration for this month’s challenge…

This week I have been playing with the new ‘Alphabetical’ set of stamps from Visible Image. I dug out one of my older sets – Sparkle In The Rain – and came up with a fresh new look for it. My project fits our ‘Splash of Colour’ theme brilliantly too!!

I used various colours of Distress Inks to stamp the rain and puddles, before stamping the figure with black Archival Ink over the top.

I used the alphabet set to create my sentiment then cut the words out, edged with black Distress Ink, and glued them in place on my card front.

Thanks for stopping by – why not join in the ‘Splash of Colour’ challenge with us over in the Facebook group – you could win a £40 gift voucher for the Visible Image shop!!!

Stamps Used:

If I Could Turn Back Time

Hello! We hope you are  having a great weekend! Dot Leathbridge is here on the blog today with an amazing card…

‘A Splash of Colour’ is the theme for the challenge this month over at the Visible Image Facebook group.

There will be wonderful inspiration showing the different ways to add a splash of colour to your project by the DT throughout the month.

Here is mine…

A little lip colour and some shading on the face were added with my Inktense pencils, then I decided to draw some tears.

The background is from my stash.  The “Face It” stamp set is one that I haven’t played with much, so it seemed like a good idea to play with it.  The best part of this set is how the placement of the parts is all worked out for you and you have a choice of eyes open/eyes closed.

Stamps used are:

Face it

Love You Longer

Stunning colours! Such a striking card thank you Dot ♡

You will find more of Dot’s awesome cards and projects over on her blog.

Dot also sells our whole range of stamps over in her Etsy store in Australia!

Timeless

Hello! We’re back with some awesome inspiration from Nicky Gilburt for our ‘Splash of Colour’ challenge…

The Visible Image ‘Splash of Colour’ challenge runs over in the Facebook group throughout July. All you have to do is make a card or project using Visible Image products, adding your interpretation of ‘a splash of colour’, and upload it into the dedicated album. I for one can’t wait to see what that looks like, once everyone gets creating! It’s going to be glorious!

For this card I used two set of stamps:

Ahead of our Time

Alphabetical

I also used 5 colours of Tim Holtz Distress Oxides and a Versafine Onyx Black ink pad.

First I ‘splashed’ my colour by laying a square of ink from a pad onto my glass mat and spritzing with a little water. I then used an old small poly bag to pick up the ink and apply it randomly around my cardstock. drying in between colours.

Once I was happy with my end result I stopped dabbing.

I used my Tim Holtz stamping platform to get a really good print from my bowler-hatted man. I did him three times to be sure but two would have been enough, as you can see, careful re-inking gets an incredibly black result!

All that remained was to use the letters and characters from the Alphabetical set to complete my project.
I also stamped the two past and future images from Ahead of our Time onto spare card and stuck them down with 3D foam.

I look forward to seeing all the contributions to the ‘Splash of Colour’ Challenge – don’t forget there is a prize draw at the end of it all too!

Happy Crafting
Nicky x

Love this!!! Brilliant background.. thanks Nicky ♡

The extras in the alphabet set are so great for backgrounds, from the scribbled frames to the punctuation marks. Why not randomly jumble the letters up on your block to create your own unique background too!

Make Every Moment Count

Hi there! Hope Monday has been gentle on you! We have another week full of wonderful projects to come here on the blog. We are kicking off the week with some challenge inspiration from Veerle Moreels…

It’s the start of a new month so there’s a new monthly challenge over in the Visible Image Facebook group. And this month’s challenge theme is: A splash of color.

Now you all know me…my favorite color is black but just a splash of black … I didn’t want to do that so I chose to make my background black and of course I had a beautiful set of words chosen to match this challenge.

Now for my splash of color I went for… the beautiful colors on the wings of a dragonfly. I stamped the dragonfly on two layers of 300 gr. watercolor paper. Of course I used my watercolors to color him in and then I’ve cut it out using an exacto knife.  By using two layers of watercolor paper I created some dimension.

And it was hard to catch it on photo but my wings have a subtle layers of glitter. I had an extra light on it to try and catch it here…

And here it is… my splash of color. Had to add some black splashes too ^.^

We are looking forward to seeing all of your colored splashes… so don’t hesitate to let yourself go and come on over to the group to share your projects and color our days ^.^

Stamps used:

Live in the Moment

Ink splats

Somewhere in Time

Beautiful tag Veerle thank you… your dragonfly is stunning ♡

Inject Some Colour

Hello!

It’s July 1st so that means a brand new challenge has started over in our Facebook group!

The theme for July is ‘a splash of colour’…. so much fun to play along with!

It’s Helen here today with a project I made for the 3D challenge in Craft Stamper magazine’s June issue, which just so happens to be great inspiration for this month’s challenge theme…

I chose one of my favourite quotes from our Express Yourself range as inspiration for my project…
I stamped out the words then cut them up so that I could place them randomly

The 3D item we all used for this feature is our brilliant MDF Monoliths…

our first and only MDF product which was designed by Mark back in 2015, and made for us by the awesome Candy Box Crafts... you really must check out their website if you aren’t familiar with them! They have so many brilliant items and kits.

Ok… so firstly I cut a piece of card 17cm x 10cm to fit my Monolith and coloured it using black soot distress ink

Next I splashed it with water to create a rainy look

While it was drying I stamped and embossed flowers from our Create it set and cut them out

I used a neon pink ink pad to colour one of the flowers

I wiped away the pink ink so the black embossing was still nice and sharp.

Next I took the awesome rain stamp from our Sparkle in the Rain set and stamped it all over my card in black versafine ink

Then I covered my stamp in white acrylic paint and randomly stamped it over my background

I placed my words and flowers on the card and added a touch of pink to the middle flower as if the ink was blowing onto it

Next I stamped the stems from our Imperfection is Beauty set in black paint

I stuck my card to my Monolith, then it was time for some colour…
I used diluted pink acrylic paint and just kept adding more water and more colour with my paint brush until it started to run

I glued everything in place and then added more painty drips, and created a pool on the base of my Monolith too

I flicked some paint about too, to give the effect of it blowing off the flower

Once dry, I stuck my Monolith to the base and my project was complete…

I hope you like what I created! What will you make for our ‘splash of colour’ challenge?

We look forward to seeing your entries over in our Facebook group throughout July!

Time…

Hi there! There’s lots of gorgeous inspiration coming your way here on the blog again today!

First up we have an awesome project by Elina Strömberg to share with you, created with some of our NEW stamps…

Hi!
The Visible Image June Facebook challenge is ‘Dimension’. I love adding dimensional elements on my projects, and the new ‘Somewhere In Time’ stamp set was just perfect for creating this 3D tag:

The clock is stamped three times, once on the tag, and twice on a piece of white cardstock. I coloured the white clocks with yellow and orange Promarkers, cut out, and layered the pieces on the tag using foam stickers. For the background I used several layers of Distress Oxide inks, and created some pattern using the new pattern stamp with numbers (included in the same stamp set). Before inking the background I masked the smallest clock pieces with masking fluid, and removed the fluid before starting the layering.

The quote is stamped and heat embossed on white vellum, and attached on the tag with two-sided tape.

I hope my dimensional project inspires you to play along our June challenge. Maybe you’ll be the lucky one to win a £40 coupon to the Visible Image online shop!

Wishing you a nice day.
Hugs,
