Friends Are Angels

Hello! We hope you are having a lovely weekend. We have some gorgeous inspiration coming your way on the blog today. Have you checked our NEW quote stamps? We have 3 amazing new sets with some really inspiring, sentimental, and quirky quotes! Becca Cruger is up on the blog today with the ‘Friends are Angels’ sentiment stamp…

I am in LOOOOOOOVE with the new releases at Visible Image.

Friends Are Angels - Quote stamp - Visible Image

One of my favorite new sets is So Much Stronger, which has all of these gorgeous sentiments that are bold and powerful (like the one I’m using in my card).

Friends Are Angels - Quote stamp - Visible Image

I have been hoarding erm… carefully saving some Tim Holtz angel wings and as soon as I got my hands on this gorgeous set, I finally had the perfect card to use them on.

I’d chosen some teal and warm brown papers to use on my card, so I wanted my silver wings to match. InkaGold to the rescue!

InkaGold is perfect for altering chipboard, paper flowers, and metal pieces. It can be used as a paste, or mixed with water to create watercolors.

After I smudged with teal, I added a second layer of light gold. OOooooo shiny!

I used the same gold around on a die cut piece that would be my focal panel for my sentiment.

Sponged around the edges with some brown Distress Inks to give it a vintage vibe.

I added a ribbon, and embossed the lovely sentiment and I have one stunner of a final design!

This is a really beautiful card Becca ♡  We love how you have framed the sentiment with those awesome wings, and the layering is fabulous!

Eye Stencil – Visible Image

Hi there! We are back with more awesome inspiration today! Pauline Butcher has a spectacular card to share with you, featuring our amazing NEW eye stencil! Are you ready for some vivid colour…

Hello! I’m back again, it’s Fabulous Friday, and I’m here to share another bit of inspiration using some awesome products from ‘Visible Image‘.

Have you seen their new stamps and stencils? They are fantastic, and today’s share is a card I made using 3 of the new Stencils and one of their new stamps..

Visible Image - eye stencil - distress inks

The stencils I’ve used are…

inky butterfly stencil - visible image

and the stamp I’ve used is a sentiment from the So Much Stronger set

Smile your beautiful smile - visible image stamps

I blended three colours of Distress Ink, onto a piece of card, (Salty Ocean, Mustard Seed and Picked Raspberry) then adding the ‘Count Me In’ stencil over the top, I blending through the stencil, using the same colours, but putting Pink over Yellow, blue over Pink etc.

I then used the inky drip bit of the ‘Butterfly Ink’ stencil, and blended through it with Blueprint Sketch, all around the edges of the card.

Next came the awesome ‘Eye Contact’ eye stencil, I placed this on top of the coloured background, secured it with masking tape, and using a spatula, added some ‘Sweet Poppy Stencil’ dimension paste through the stencil. When it was dry using some white gesso, I whitened up the eye, and added some Distress into the eye iris, and some stardust stickles over the top of the dry paste.

I used the ‘Butterfly Ink’ stencil again, for the tear drops, with some white Liquid Pearl. I stamped the sentiment using a dark blue ink, and fussy cut it.

Thanks for dropping in.
Hugs, Pauline xxxx

WOW! We absolutely love how you have combined these stencils.. your card is incredible Pauline! Our eye stencil looks stunning and we adore your tear ♡ Thank you!

Make Your Story Incredible

Hello! We are back with more awesome Design Team inspiration today! Jane Tyrrell is featuring 2 of the inspiring quotes from our ‘Voices In Your Head’ set with our gorgeous face stamps, and some funky background stamps from another NEW set…

Good Evening, I am here with my weekly dose of Visible Image inspiration. The new release is now available to buy online  or via your local stockist.

Today I am sharing another of my new makes and this time I have used the brilliant Voices in your Head stamp set

with the background Shape it up set

and the iconic and best selling Face it set

I made a Distress oxide background, using Salty ocean, Squeezed lemonade and Dried marigold. I pushed the colours onto my craft mat, added some water and after 2 pick ups I stopped as I loved the way the colours dripped down. When I looked at the patterns I felt it was quite a 60s/70s retro colour blend.

I cut down the piece to a fit a 7X5″ card and blended on a little extra Squeezed Lemonade distress oxide ink. I stamped my face and decided on my words placement. For extra impact I stamped and embossed “incredible” in red.

I also stamped some of the shapes from Shape it up in blue archival ink.

Here is my Retro words girl…

There are some really amazing words in this set, and they work so well with the existing stamps too.

Thanks as always for stopping by.

Back soon.

Bye for now,
Jane x

This is such an awesome card Jane! Loving your retro background and these quotes are perfect for our face!

mixed media - wall hanging - hummingbird stamp

The Stamp set I’ve used on this project is…

Life is Beautiful

Visible Image - inky hummingbird stamp

and the stencil is Collision

collision of light stencil - visible image

I used some lolly sticks as the base, and painted them with the Dyna paints, stamped the circle and lines stamp, then put the stencil over the top and added  some translucent paste. Meanwhile I stamped the awesome hummingbird using Versamark onto some heat resistant acetate, and heat embossed using Black powder, fussy cut it, and added some Dyna paints onto the back of it, and attached it with 3D glue gel. I added the sentiment, and coloured some ribbon to hang it with.

Incredible Butterfly Stencil

Good Morning! It’s a very exciting day here at Visible Image as we release our awesome NEW stamps and stencils!!! Our Design Team are loving creating with them and we have lots of amazing samples to share with you over the coming weeks. Heather Mitchell has got her hands on ‘Butterfly Ink’ our stunning inky butterfly stencil, and added in the ‘incredible’ stamp from our ‘Voices in Your Head’ set and the result is just WOW…

Hello everyone…

A very impromptu post today as I’ve had some lovely comments over in the Visible Image Facebook group about this little make…

inky butterfly stencil - Visible Image stamps

I was only playing when I made it, but sometimes that’s when you get the best results.

So some of you were asking for a tutorial and (obviously) I can’t go back and re-make (and I haven’t got the time to make another one) so I thought I’d talk you through the process, is that ok?

The stencil I’ve used is one of the gorgeous new releases from Visible Image and is called Butterfly Ink.. an inky butterfly stencil.  It’s one of eight new stencils and all are amazing!

Anyway… to start, I taped the stencil (please use low-tack tape or it’ll ruin everything!) to textured card.  I’ve then drawn around the butterfly using Derwent Inktense pencils.  I did the Tan colour first using a fine paintbrush to add water and dilute the lines.

Be careful when adding water that you don’t add too much as it will seep under the stencil, so less is more.  I then added the Bark colour in the same way…

Don’t forget to add colour to the elements around the butterfly

Use the colour around the edges to then colour the butterfly itself.  I teased the colour out of the edges as this gave enough colour for me but you can add as much or as little colour as you like.  To make the Frayed Burlap colour slightly more intense, I’ve given it a very light spritz, as this really makes the colour come alive.

Once dry, take a Wink of Stella brush and added subtle sparkle around the outline

I’ve used Frayed Burlap Distress Oxide ink pad on the ‘incredible’ sentiment as I love the chalky finish you get.  I didn’t use a stamping platform or an acrylic block, I literally stuck the stamp to my fingers and freehanded the stamping so I could control where I wanted the lettering to start/end.

Once dry, I added more shimmer using the Wink of Stella on some of the letters. To finish, I’ve matted it onto black card and then onto a beautiful copper pearlescent card before securing it to a 7×7″ card blank.

And there you go!  A really easy card to make and even if you fluff up the outline (like I did in places) it doesn’t matter as you can use a brush to erase any mistakes!  I’d love to see any cards you create using this technique so do tag me any!

Never Forget Your Story

Hello! It’s a beautiful sunny Bank Holiday here in Wales and we are looking forward to a day off in the sunshine! It’s been so busy here so the rest is welcomed with open arms! Our NEW stamps are well on their way to stockists all over the world, and will be making their way to customers very soon now! Veerle Moreels has beautiful inspiration for you today, featuring stamps from our NEW ‘Into The Woods’ set, which includes our awesome bare tree stamp….

Did you already see the new release Visible Image shared and is available May 11th?  If not, you are missing out on beautiful sets and stencils.  You get the whole deal: great designs and words that give you the chance to tell your story.

I love playing with their words. They are perfect on their own but they also give you a chance to put parts of them together and make whole new sets of words. So versatile and they never lose their strength. On my first project you can see how I brought two different sentences together to make a new one. I have put it on a card here but I can already tell you that I have other plans for this one… for this whole card as a matter of fact ^.^ but I need to go and have myself a bit more paper first.

bare tree stamp - visible image

And then there’s that tree… and those two other tree scenes… and those owls. What can I say other than they are just perfect and they speak to me. So many ideas and I only started stamping them separately, even though they match together so great to make beautiful scenes.

But look at it, just one of the stamps and yet a great silhouette of the woods.

And yes, there are words in the set too…

So don’t hesitate to go and check out the new releases. I’m pretty sure you will get as enthusiastic as I am when you see them ^.^

Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist

Hello! We hope you are having a great weekend! Becca Cruger is here on the blog today with a fantastic card created with our Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist stamp set, our awesome cracked glass stamp, and a burst of colour…

Happy Weekend!

Today, I’ve got a card for you that’s full of vibrant colors and movement. I was experimenting and trying out different combos of stamp sets and happened upon one particular duo that made my heart do all sorts of leaps.

To start my design, I stamped and masked the jumping girl from the Visible Image Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist stamp set.

After I masked her up, I used the How Fragile stamp set, embossing it with clear powder.

Next, I spritzed the page with water and sprinkled on some turquoise Ken Oliver Color Burst crystals.

I spritzed again with water and let the crystals work their magics. I wanted a little more movement so I used a wet paint brush and made hard side to side strokes.

I splattered the whole thing with Picket Fence Distress Spray Stain.

I embossed and fussy cut a sentiment from the same ‘Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist’ set.

Put it all together and ba-blam! OOOoooooo

visible image stamps - tomorrow doesn't exist

I love the way this turned out with all the movement happening! Thanks for popping by and have a lovely day!

Such a striking card! Great background for these stamps.. Thanks Becca ♡

Into The Woods – Forest Stamps

Hi there! Have you seen our awesome NEW ‘Into The Woods’ stamp set? A set of fantastic forest stamps, with a bare tree, owls, and some awesome words too! Pauline Butcher has given these stamps a really magical feel…

Hi there,

It’s a long Bank Holiday weekend, and the weather is good, so I hope you have something exciting planned.

Today I am sharing my first creation, made using an awesome new set of stamps, from ‘Visible Image‘, I adore it…

The new forest stamps set is called ‘Into the Woods‘ and is available to pre-order, with release date being 11th May.. but I assure you, it will be worth the wait!

Visible Image stamps - Into The Woods - Forest stamps

I also used the inky script stamp, from ‘Scripted Streets‘, which is in the background.

The background, was a piece of card that I had cleaned my brayer on, I’d been using some Oxide inks, it has some rather dark blue patches on, so I added white gesso, to tone it down a bit, and then some yellow and pink acrylic chalk paints with a palette knife…. perfect. I stamped the script, using Salty Ocean Oxide Ink, made a moon with some white gesso and a brush.

forest stamps - visible image

I stamped the rear row of trees, in a grey Versafine ink, stamped the next row in Purple Versafine, then used artistic licence for the hedge, with a couple of green inks, the main tree and the beautiful Owls I stamped and heat embossed with Black embossing powder. I then got my Stickles out, brown for the far trees, purple for the mid trees, and green and yellow for the hedge, I also added some gold Stickles onto the wings of the Owls, I finished off with the stamped sentiment, onto a bit of white card, and coloured it to look like the background, and then using a white pigment pen, highlighted the tree.

Check out the other awesome new stamp set plus all the yummy stencils too!

I have an Inky Workshop in Warwick, on Sunday 20th May, 10am – 4pm, £25 per person, 3 projects, and one will be using this fantastic stamp set. For more details, contact me on Facebook, or by email to: [email protected]

Thank you for popping by.

Hugs
Pauline xxxx

Underwater Ripples

Good Evening! Hope you have had a good week, it has gone so fast here! Can’t quite believe it’s Friday tomorrow.. already!! Thank you so much to everyone who has pre-ordered our NEW stamps and stencils! We are quite overwhelmed by the number of orders we’ve received so far, with initial stock of some designs already sold out, more stock has been ordered! Wow!!! Our Design Team are loving the new stamps and stencils and we will have some fabulous inspiration for you really soon! Today’s inspiration features one of our older backgrounds: ‘The Ripple Effect stamp’ teamed up with our stunning seahorse. Over to Heather Mitchell…

Hello once again…

I’ve been itching to share this Visible Image DT project with you all, as I just love how it’s turned out!  It really got my creative juices flowing and I adore all the different textures on there from the stamps I’ve used.

seahorse stamp - ripple effect stamp

I started out by heat embossing The Ripple Effect in white embossing powder onto watercolour card before adding distress oxide inks in a watercolour style around the ripples themselves.

The oxides inks pads are great for creating watercolour backgrounds

To create a hint of sparkle to the project, Fibonacci was heat embossed using a gorgeous metallic copper powder, which looks beautiful when the light hits it.  Next, to contrast with the calming hues, I added Infusion powders to the areas in-between.

I used Anita’s 3D Clear Gloss to make the ripples as it has a fine nib so is perfect for smaller areas

To build on the texture, I stamped the net from the Mesh-ellaneous set in a deep blue and then added the shoal of fish  and the sea plants (both from Dare to Swim).

I’m a little bit in love with Wow’s Copper Embossing Powders as they add warmth to a project with a hint of sparkle

With everything dry I could begin to add my main focal images; the gorgeous Sea Horse and the sentiment from Create Your Calm.

Even with all the different textures, the make still felt like it needed some dimension to it so I added clear gloss to the ripple areas to make it look glassy and add some movement and I just love the finished effect! The ripple effect stamp works just beautifully with the Create Your Calm and Dare to Swim sets… def more to investigate there!!
