Welcoming Jane Tyrrell

Hi there! Thanks for visiting our blog today. It’s been an incredibly busy week shipping all the orders from last week’s trade show and finalising all the preparations for this Saturday’s show on Create and Craft TV! We will give you all the details for that tomorrow, first of all we have some exciting news to share…

Last year we had some guest Design Team members, one of which was the wonderfully talented Jane Tyrrell. We recently asked Jane if she would create some samples with some of our NEW stamps and she kindly agreed. We were so impressed by them that we have now welcomed her back to the team as a full Design Team member!

Here’s a little bit about Jane along with her first official blog post as a DT member…

Jane Tyrrell

Hello I’m Jane from Jane’s Journal and after working for 34 years, until April 2016, as an NHS physiotherapist I am now free to follow my crafting journey.

I have been creative since I could hold a pencil and I have been paper crafting for over 15 years, more seriously since 2012. I am also a silversmith, jewellery maker, keen photographer, gardener and occasional cake decorator.  I have been lucky enough to have some of my cards published and I now sell my cards at a local vintage tea rooms.  I enjoy using different crafting techniques and styles and you will see me create anything from shabby chic, vintage to cute. I make cards, art journal pages, tags, mixed media pieces and altered objects and I love playing with new products. However my first love is, and always will be, stamping. I still own my very first stamp! I discovered Visible Image stamps in their very earliest days and I have been delighted to watch their meteoric rise in the crafting world. Their stamps really offer something different in this very competitive crafting market. I am thrilled to now be joining their team and to be a part of their ongoing creative journey.

I write a blog where I share my inky creativity as well as my photography. I am totally inspired by my surroundings and by Mother Nature. I am lucky enough to have a little garden studio where I create during the warmer months of the year, surrounded by my flowers and “helped” by my sweet cat Billy.

I have been very busy with some secret crafting for the last couple of weeks, which I can finally share with you. You may remember that I did some Guest Design work for my favourite stamp company, Visible Image, last year from September to December?

They had a new stamp release in February which has taken the crafting world by storm as they are so fabulous. Helen, of Visible Image contacted me a few weeks ago and asked if I would be interested in making some samples for their latest TV appearance on Create and Craft, using 2 of the new sets. Of course I said yes and once my stamps arrived I shut myself away for a few days and made them 5 cards.

My regular blogging buddies know that Billy our cat features big time in our life.
He loves climbing wall and fences and can often be spotted sitting on them.

So one of the sets I chose to work with just had to be their awesome cat set. It’s called Curious Cats…

Isn’t it brilliant?

You can also see all the new releases over in the Visible Image shop.

I thought I would share my first cat sample here today. It may very well be visible in the background on Create and Craft this Saturday, 4th March. I shall keep an eye out and wave if I spot it 😉. The show is on at 10am (GMT) on Sky 674 or Freeview 23 or you can watch it via the Create and craft Website here. I have set up my recorder in case I’m not around at 10am.

Here is my card….inspired by my sweet Billy……I have called it Billy’s Fence. He also has a friend called Blackie who visits him and looks just like the cats walking along the fence here…

2017-03-02 Visible Image - Curious Cats - stamps - Jane Tyrrell

I made the fence with lots of DecoArt paints on card. I also used some crackle paint to give lots of worn texture.
I then distressed it…literally by removing some panels and added the large cat face.

The small walking cats were embossed and fussy cut out

I created a sunny scene using Distress inks and used the cat’s whiskers stamp from the set for my grass.

To finish off my card I added glossy accents to the eyes and nose.

I even decorated the inside…and used the sweet paw print and the sentiment which also comes with the set.

Here is my card once more…

2017-03-02 Visible Image - Curious Cats - stamps - Jane Tyrrell

I had to share this photo too…whilst photographing my other samples Billy got in on the act in my light tent.

He is certainly true to the sentiment eh…..😼😻😺

I am really looking forward to sharing their onward creative journey as part of their Team.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Take care 💓
Bye for now,
Jane x

We absolutely love this card, very clever designing! It’s very ‘curious cats’ indeed!
And isn’t Billy adorable in those photos.. I think he is wondering who his new friend is!!!

We are so happy to welcome you to the team Jane, and cannot wait to show off some of your other samples!
They are stunning ♡

We will be back with more NEW stamps inspiration soon.

Thanks again for visiting today.

News & 25% OFF code @ Visible Image

Hi there!

Thank you for taking time to visit our blog today.

As you may know, we have recently re-branded and we’re loving our ‘new look’ colourful packaging…

visible-image-promo-oct-2016

We have now stopped manufacturing the stamps ourselves but we continue to package them all in house,
and everything is still designed by Mark.

As quality is always top of our list, the etching is the deepest possible for clear photopolymer stamps,
so as always they stamp beautifully.

We had struggled to keep up with the demand for our stamps with just Mark making them,
and the waiting time for orders was long.

So we are very happy to announce that orders placed by 2pm Monday to Friday
will now be dispatched the same day!

Our stamp sets are now larger in size so we have been busy designing additional stamps
to compliment our existing sets…

You will find ALL our current designs HERE!

Sadly due to family commitments we aren’t at the Hobbycrafts show at the NEC this year.
We will really miss seeing all our regular customers at the show.

But… to celebrate our ‘new look’ we are giving you 25% OFF our stamps!*

Just enter coupon code: newlook2016
at the checkout!

*offer ends midnight UK time on Sunday November 6th

Thanks again for taking time to read about all our changes. We have lots of exciting plans for the next year!

Have a great weekend.

Rainy Day Sparkle – Visible Image

Hi there! We are sharing some more awesome inspiration by Elina today.

As we head into winter we expect lots of rainy days! So keep this sentiment in mind…

visible-image-stamps-dont-let-the-rain-dull-your-sparkle-elina-stromberg

The backgrounds of these cards were first inked with Distress inks and the patterns were added with plain water: On the larger card I let water just drip down creating light vertical lines. Once dry I added more water on the bottom of the card, and splashed some drops on the upper part of the background.

On the smaller ATC card I first inked the background, and placed a stencil with vertical dot lines on the cardstock. I misted the stencil with water, pressed dry with a paper towel, and removed the stencil. Creating fun patterns on your project background could not be easier!

Cardmaking: Stamped ATC card with inked background

On the larger card I stamped and fussy cut the quote text, but for an ATC sized card the text was too big. I used the same lovely quote, but wrote it with tiny rub-on letters. I have bought the letter set from craft flea market and I love it! The set is years old, but the rub-ons still work well. Originally the set was needed for correcting machine writer typing errors- a little piece of history, isn’t it!

On the ATC card I stamped the image with Archival ink. For the larger card I used black embossing powder that had a hint of sparkle in it.

The ‘Sparkle’ word on the larger card was heat embossed twice; first using black powder and then a second time with a hint of glitter powder.

The stamps are from Visible Image: ‘Sparkle In The Rain’ and ‘Smile Sparkle Shine’. Love them!

Cardmaking: Stamped card with inked background

Despite any the rainy weather I wish you a sparkling day!

Love,

Visible Image – Don’t Exist… LIVE!

Hi there! We have more Halloween themed inspiration for you here on the blog today. Over to Teresa Morgan with a brilliant project…

With Halloween fast approaching, today’s project has a spooky feel to it.

The Z box fold card is a popular shape right now, so here is my version:

visible-image-stamps-moth-stamp-skulls-teresa-morgan

You will need two pieces of card (I used black) for the basis of this card, and some patterned or printed card to decorate the panels.

Cut one piece of black card 4.25in x 5.5in. This will be the back of your card blank.

Cut the second piece of black card 9.75in x 4in. This will be the piece you fold.

Z box fold card template

  1. Measure 3in in from left hand edge and 1in up from bottom and make a mark.
  2. Measure 3.75in from right hand edge and 1in up from bottom and make a mark.
  3. Draw a line between the two marks and cut along it.
  4. Score from the left end of the cut up to the top edge of the card.
  5. Score from the right end of the cut down to the bottom edge of the card.
  6. Measure 4.5in from left hand edge of card and score from top to bottom.

I used some gelli prints to decorate my card blank, you could use some designer papers or ink or stamp your own background designs.

The right hand panel of the folded card is glued to the other piece of black card to complete the card blank.

I stamped the large skull from the Mr Bone Jangles set onto my front panel, and the large moth from the Glimmer of Light set onto the back panel. I used a white gel pen to add some detail to the moth.

Visible Image Stamps - Mr Bone Jangles, Glimmer of Light, Tomorrow Doesn't Exist. Z Fold Box Card

I added some smaller skulls to the back panel, stamping onto a scrap of paper before stamping onto my printed background. This gives a soft ghost stamped effect.

Visible Image Stamps - Mr Bone Jangles, Glimmer of Light, Tomorrow Doesn't Exist. Z Fold Box Card

I stamped six small moths onto some printed card and fussy cut them. I added some white highlights with a gel pen before shaping the wings with my fingers. I added one moth to the large skull, and attached the others to some short lengths of florists’ wire. These were attached inside the ‘box’ with tape.

Visible Image Stamps - Mr Bone Jangles, Glimmer of Light, Tomorrow Doesn't Exist. Z Fold Box Card

Finally I stamped the words from the Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist Set and ‘adapted’ them to my needs before attaching with 3d foam!!

Halloween Potions – Visible Image

Good Evening! We promised you an amazing new project from Veerle Moreels tonight so here it is…

Who’s celebrating Halloween? Here we don’t really celebrate it but a little home decoration is always welcome so it got me thinking on a little project…

So I started in photoshop…

halloween-bottles-element

It all got measured around some of my most favorite Visible Image stamps and once it was all on the right spot I printed out my text and stamped them right in between…

And of course I just had to add some of the little moths too ^.^ They fit just perfect on those bottles!

halloween-bottles-element-4-wm

Just added some extra bottles to add some color to my project, and of course some more moths ^.^

Sunset on Butterfly Valley – Visible Image

Hello! We’re catching up with all the latest Design Team inspiration here on the blog.

Jane Tyrrell has a wonderful journal page to share with you, inspired by her recent holiday…

I decided to make a Moment for my art journal to remember our 2016 Rhodes holiday.  I wanted to celebrate the sunshine, heat and our trip to the Butterfly Valley. To do this I used my butterfly stamp from the brilliant Own Kind of Beautiful Visible Image set. I also used  the words from the Live in the Moment dragonfly set.

First I embossed my Visible Image butterflies, and then coloured them with distress markers in the same colours as those from the Butterfly Valley.

I wanted to represent the autumnal sun so I added gold embossing paste through my Tim Holtz sun stencil.

I chose some warm sunny distress ink colours to blend my background in my art journal.

Once I was happy with my background I stencilled some leaves.

I made my focal by stamping and embossing my words into the centre of a Tim Holtz clock die cut, which I had coloured with distress inks.

Here is my dictionary definition…how very appropriate.

I also coloured some snippets of card to die cut leaves and branches to represent the beautiful trees in the Butterfly Valley

and then it was time to put on my creative hat.

Here is my finished Moment..

visible-image-stamps-live-in-the-moment-butterfly-jane-tyrrell

When I look at this page in my art journal it takes me straight back to the sunshine and the memories we made during our wonderful September autumn holiday. Every moment was indeed very special.

Thanks so much for visiting today. The weather has again been glorious for most of this week but it’s turning chillier by the day…I actually got out and wore my winter jacket for the first time on Monday. Autumn is very much here now.

Bye for now,

Jane x

Fabulous page Jane, those sunset colours are wonderful Autumn inspiration too ♡

Hope you’ll come back and visit us again soon!

Jump For Joy – Visible Image

Hello! We are back with another awesome Design Team project.

Over to Dot Leathbridge…

Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist is one of the new stamps from Visible Image.

What I really love about this set is the carefree and positive message that it puts out.

visible-image-stamps-inky-jumping-girl-stamp-live-dot-leathbridge

I had so much fun putting this one together!

The background is built up with stencils and gelatos and then stamps.

I have found that the Imagine Dream Inspire word stamp set makes a wonderful addition to backgrounds…so that has become another layer on top of the stencils.

The main image and words are from the Tomorrow Doesn’t Exist stamp set.

The words from the set were made on a scrap piece left over from the main panel.  Nothing goes to waste lol.

What I love about gelatos is how you can just wipe away the colour with baby wipes, or damp paper toweling…so that is what I have done with the large dots stencil and around the edge of the words.  I l love the faded effect that you end up with.

Extra white is added with some white acrylic paint for circles and a white gel pen for highlights.

*A handy tip that I have discovered when using silhouette stamps is…
Just stamp the image into Versamark first and wipe of lightly on your arm…then add your black ink!  I use Versafine.
(I think I read that somewhere on you-tube) It stamps beautifully this way.

The stamps used are:

Awesome card Dot, thank you! Loving your background ♡

The Butterfly Effect @ Visible Image

Hi there! We have more gorgeous inspiration for you here on the blog today.

Here’s Teresa Morgan with a stunning card that you may have seen on our Create and Craft TV show last month…

Welcome to my project for the week. I have used the amazing Ripple Effect stamp set along with one of the gorgeous new butterfly sets to create this modern card.

My background is a Gelli Plate print using DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics onto glossy card. I stamped the ripples over the base card with Versamark ink and embossed with WOW Powders in Opaque White and Bluetiful.

The butterflies are stamped and embossed onto Heat Resistant acetate in silver, then cut out and glued along the bodies onto the ripples.

To finish, I stamped and embossed the sentiment before cutting apart and matting onto blue card. This is attached with 3d foam.

Vinyl Revival @ Visible Image

Hi there! Thank you so much for visiting our blog today!

We are continuing with the amazing inspiration created for our Create and Craft TV shows this coming weekend.

Over to Teresa who has an awesome project to share with you today…

Are you looking forward to watching Visible Image on Create and Craft this week??? I certainly am, and for the first time all my friends in the US are too!!

Just in case you haven’t heard, Visible Image are making their debut on Create and Craft USA on Friday 9th September 13:00 EST & 16:00 EST (6pm & 9pm UK time)……but don’t worry, fellow Brits – you can watch them here on Create and Craft UK on Saturday 10th September at 4pm too!!!

As you can imagine, there has been a lot of behind the scenes activity preparing for these shows and today I am sharing a card I made especially for them using The Ripple Effect and Music On World Off sets:

visible-image-stamps-music-on-world-off-ripple-background-stamp-teresa-morgan

I was inspired to create my ‘vinyl’ records as the ripple stamp reminded me of the grooves in records. I die cut some circles of black card and embossed the ripple stamp on them using WOW Powders Black Glint embossing powder. I then die cut the centres from coloured card, added some detail with a white gel pen and cut the centre holes out.

Visible Image Stamps - The Ripple Effect, Music On World Off

The background was created with DecoArt Media Fluid acrylics and my Gelli Plate. I stamped the words and small circles with black Archival ink.

These stamp sets are so versatile and I hope that my project and those of my fabulous team mates inspire you to make a purchase.

Please tune in to the shows on Create and Craft UK/USA – Mark and Pauline have some fabulous demos lined up and there will be multi-buy offers that you won’t want to miss!!

Just Be Happy @ Visible Image

Hi there! Thank you for visiting our blog today!

This week we are previewing some of the stunning samples made for our shows on Create and Craft TV this coming weekend.

Nicky Gilburt has created this totally gorgeous project. Over to Nicky…

Visible Image stamps - MDF Monolith - Just Be Happy - Nicky Gilburt

Another marvellous monolith to share with you, from Visible Image, decorated this time with bright funky colours and more stamps from the fantastic Summer 2016 collection, to be shown (with never seen before extra features) on Create & Craft UK on Saturday 10th September at 4pm. (and on the US show on Friday night!)

I absolutely LOVED putting this piece of work together, especially as the Just be Happy slogan pretty much sums me up right now ( and it has nothing to do with the kids being back at school this week, either!) I prepared the monolith with white gesso, then white acrylic paint, and stamped the arty splodges ( from the new version of  Music on World off) directly onto the MDF with distress ink. I added the sun effect by masking the largest circle , then stamping, applying white embossing powder and heat embossing The Ripple Effect and added the smaller circles randomly too. The funky large heart is a new add-on to the set Own Kind of Beautiful.

Visible Image stamps - MDF Monolith - Be Your Own Kind Of Beautiful - Butterfly stamp - Nicky Gilburt

Reverse: Pinks and greens and Be your own Beautiful – but two of the butterflies have been stamped onto shrink plastic – now that was fun! I made 3 large ones on plain white card and matched them all up.

The wrap with the words on came about as I was test-stamping the colours on an off-cut from a previous card – and I thought ‘ooh that works for me!’ so I put my text on both sides of my wrap, sealed it at one end and carefully positioned it on my monolith.

Dare I say that this is my favourite piece of work from the new Summer release? I love everything that Visible Image has ever released but there is something really special about these stamps that just makes me…HAPPY!!! Thanks for reading!

Don’t forget to tune in!

4pm UK time AND…..

6pm and 9pm UK time!

It’s going to be AWESOME!

Thank you so much Nicky, this is such a stunning Monolith! We cannot wait to show it off on screen ♡

Today Veerle Moreels is here with a project which makes you just stop and stare! Over to Veerle…

When I saw the Summer Release 2016 from Visible Image… this idea started growing in my head and I had so much fun creating it. Starting out with a plain wooden box that has a little window I ended up with a finished project that has a lot of meaning for me. I’m not going to tell you how I see it, what I was thinking making it. Everybody should fill it in, in their own way. But I can tell you that every structure and every single stamp was placed with a meaning, they all carry a little part of me.

I’m not going to put down every single picture here…I made to many ^.^ But I have put them together in a little video so take a look while I show you round the outside and the inside of my altered box…

Glimmer of Light – Visible Image Stamps

Hello! Thanks for visiting!

Pauline is here to inspire you today with an amazing project featuring stamps from our Summer Release and our brilliant MDF Monoliths…

Hi there,

I thought it was about time I decorated another Visible Image Monolith, they are such fun to do, and there are endless possibilities.

I used one of my fave Visible Image Stamps sets, from the new releases, for this project, it’s stunning and I love it, it’s called……
Glimmer of Lightplus the fabulous Rays of Light, and the Shine Bright setyou see the theme, lol !
And of course don’t forget the fabulous MDF, which come in a pack of 5…… Monoliths.

Visible Image - Glimmer of Light - Pauline Butcher 1

I used Dylusion Paints on the front, a Black base, then combination of colours on top, then stamped the Rays, using white Ink, where I wanted the little light bulbs to hang. I then stamped the little bulbs and the sentiment in Black Versafine Ink, and heat embossed the wonderful Moth, onto card , coloured them in using Distress Inks, and fussy cut them all.

I added glossy accents to the bulbs, and Stickles to the Moths.

Visible Image - Glimmer of Light - Pauline Butcher 2

On the other side, again I painted the MDF in Black, added some paste through a stencil, and when it was dry, used Gilding wax to highlight it.

I stamped the Ray into Acetate, and heat embossed it in Yellow powder, and the large light bulb, again onto acetate, and heat embossed in Black powder. I stamped some more small light bulbs using Black ink, coloured them and then fussy cut, glued them to the MDF, and used Glossy Accents.

I wasn’t happy with the large bulb being black, so using a white pen I highlighted the outline. The Moths were stamped with Stazon, onto Shrink Plastic, and I coloured them with crayons, fussy cut them, then heated and watched the magic happen……

I hope I have given you a bit of inspiration on how to decorate the MDF Monoliths.

Check out the Visible Image places below for more inspiration……

I am running an Inky Workshop, near Warwick,

Thanks again for your visit.

A Girl.. A Moth.. and A Skull @ Visible Image

Good Afternoon (Morning or Evening!) Hope you are well, thank you for stopping by today!

Corrie is here to inspire you with 3 fabulous postcards created with stamps from our Summer Release…

Hello everyone,

For my DT post for Visible Image today I have made a set of three cards with the new release stamps. They are fabulous and they stamp like a dream….

Here they are:

Visible Image - Mr Bone Jangles - Corrie Herriman 3

All three of these cards were created on a gelli printed background. I love my gelli plates; I can play for hours… lol
Anyway I added some stamping to the background and stamped the big skull separately on a piece of card stock that I coloured with Disstress Ink. I used Twisted Citron. I then used some pencils to add a little shading and a white paint pen to whiten his teeth. I also drew a couple of lines around the card.

I used the following stamps:

Visible Image - Tomorrow Doesn't Exist - Corrie Herriman 1

I think this is my favourite set of the new release. This image of the girl jumping is so fabulous I think. Anyway, again I added some background stamping and a single black line around the edge. The girl was stamped directly on the card and clear embossed. This makes the image a little blacker. I them stamped the sentiment, cut it out and adhered it to the card.

I used the following stamps:

Visible Image - Glimmer of Light - Corrie Herriman 1

For the last card the method was pretty much the same again; did a little background stamping. I stamped the moth and the sentiment directly on the card. I then stamped the moth again and coloured him, cut him out, added holographic embossing powder and heat set it. Look at all that sparkle… I then adhered him to the stamped image on the card.

I used the following stamps:

Here is a close up of the glittery wings…

All the cards were adhered to a white card blank and that was that !!!

Thank you so much for stopping by today !!

Thank you Corrie! ♡ Fantastic postcards and great backgrounds for these stamps!

We will be back tomorrow with more awesome inspiration… Make sure you check out our pinterest and instagram galleries too!

Angels @ Visible Image

Hello there! Thank you for visiting us here on the Visible Image blogy.

We have a stunning project from Nicky Gilburt to share with you today…

Visible Image stamps - Angel stamp - Nicky Gilburt

I love love love this angel! A gorgeous stamp with accompanying word and a little angel too for adding backgrounds and extras.

I stamped and embossed the Angel and the word first. I then painted over her with Inkessentials glue and seal, which protects the image. Those tiny sparkles of white that shine through – if you lose them then you lose the effect, You can see I managed a 2mm border around her. Once dry, the ‘glue and seal’ resists all inks, so that the angel remains clean!

The background to this card was made by lightly rubbing 3 colours of distress ink over a square card and then stenciling through circles cut out of acetate, called the bokeh technique. Using light colours and whites it gives an ethereal affect to the card. A final touch was dots of white pen and a few sequins for sparkle!

These are the tools I used:

Thanks for looking!
Nicky

Such a beautiful card, thank you Nicky ♡

We’ll be back later today with some fabulous postcards from Corrie!

MDF Monoliths @ Visible Image

Hello! Thanks for visiting 🙂

We have a totally awesome project by Veerle Moreels to share with you today! You have probably already seen our brilliant MDF Monoliths which we launched in January.. they have been incredibly popular! Free-standing and reversible, they are so versatile as Veerle will show you…

Do you know the monoliths? They are beautiful MDF pieces Mark Alexander designed for Visible Image and give you so much possibilities to go and create awesome projects. Today I want to share my latest creation using a monolith. I had so much fun even more because I had beautiful new stamps from the Visible Image Summer release 2016 ^.^

Visible Image stamps - MDF Monolith - Paper Holder - Moth & Skull stamp - Veerle Moreels 2

Getting curious…you can see it start-to-finish in the video I made…

I have shown the close ups pictures in the video but I do want to share the end result here too. I bet you I’ll never forget what I need to remember ^.^

Visible Image stamps - MDF Monolith - Paper Holder - Moth & Skull stamp - Veerle Moreels    Visible Image stamps - MDF Monolith - Paper Holder - Deaths Head HawkMoth stamp - Veerle Moreels

Now, I know not everybody loves skulls…but why not make this project using only butterflies, flowers or a beautiful colored in piece and use bright colors. This idea can be made in different styles, and these monoliths give you so much possibilities. If you are looking for some inspiration, head on over to the project gallery to see what my talented teamies already made using them.

Want to go and create? Visible Image send their products without any trouble and very cheap postage too!  You can find everything in their online webshop.

Materials used:

How Fragile We Are

Thank you Veerle! Such a brilliant project and a great video 🙂

We hope you are feeling inspired! If you are new to trying mixed media, Monoliths are a perfect first step as they are not too big.. just a coat of gesso or acrylic paint and you can stamp away, or simply stick your card or favourite papers onto them!

Thanks again for visiting us today and be sure to pop back soon to see what the rest of the team have been creating!

Inky Notecards – Visible Image Stamps

Hi there! Thank you for coming to visit our blog today.

HUGE apologies for neglecting our blog for a few weeks! July was such a busy month.. so many orders to make, and then we escaped for a week away in beautiful Ibiza…

Santa Eulalia July 2016

We had a wonderful time and a much needed rest!

We have so many amazing Design Team projects to share with you, so we will be catching up with lots of posts every day for the foreseeable future, as we don’t want to miss out on any of them!

First up, here’s Kim Johnny with some fantastic inky inspiration…

Hi!

It’s my turn to share some creative Visible Image playtime. The kids are off from school and the time ran away from me a teeny bit. So, I wanted to make something simple and bright.

Hope you like them!

Using some of my most favorite stamps and Inktense Color Blocks, I made some clean and simple notecards.

I used the Flower INKognito and Butterfly INKognito Visible Image stamps.

Visible Image stamps - Inky butterfly - flower stamps - Kim Johnny

I applied the color block directly onto the stamps in various scribbles.

Misted the stamp with water, Inktense color blocks activate with water and
when dry are very stable and permanent.

The images are stamped onto watercolor paper I cut to size before stamping.

Stamp away.. I could easily do tons of these and not get bored!

Each one even using the same colors comes out unique.

Thanks for looking and hope you can make a bit of time to play!

hugs
~kim

Darkest Moments – Visible Image Stamps

Hi there! Thanks for visiting our blog today! Sorry for the lack of posts recently, we have just been inundated with orders for our Summer Release which is AMAZING! Thank you ♡  We are thrilled you are loving these new designs so much!

We have lots of amazing Design Team inspiration for you over the next few days! We’re kicking off with a brand new project from Teresa Morgan…

I am so excited to be sharing my first project with one of the new sets of Visible Image stamps – Glimmer of Light. This beautiful moth design comes with a cool light bulb and fantastic sentiment and is so versatile. I have created a mixed media canvas for you:

Visible Image stamps - Mixed Media canvas - Moth stamp - Glimmer of Light quote - Teresa Morgan

I used washes of DecoArt Media acrylics to created my background: Cobalt Teal Hue, Cobalt Turquoise Hue, Dioxazine Purple, Burnt Umber, Pthalo Green Blue. I flicked some Carbon Black Media Mister onto the damp wash then allowed to dry. Once dry I flicked a bit more of the black Media Mister (to create more defined spots) and did the same with White Linen Dylusions spray ink.

Visible Image Stamps - Glimmer of Light

I wanted to add some texture, so used white DecoArt Media Crackle Paste and black DecoArt Modelling Paste with some stencils, and once again set aside to dry.

I used the script stamp and flourish from the Revolution set to add some background detail. I stamped them both with black Archival Ink, and then used the script stamp with Ranger Sticky embossing powder and turquoise foil. I stamped the moth and light bulb with Archival Ink and used Glossy Accents to highlight the glass bulb.

Visible Image Stamps - Glimmer of Light

Finally I stamped the sentiment onto white card and cut it out, edging the pieces with black ink. I hope that you enjoyed today’s project – be sure to come back next week to see more of the new release stamps in use!!

How Fragile We Are – Visible Image Stamps

Hello! Thanks for visiting our blog!

Today we are featuring one of the stamp sets we released back in January this year…

How Fragile We Are

Inspired by a beautiful song by Sting, these words mean so much to so many people. Sadly we have all lost someone we love, or watched someone we care about suffer through illness… It’s a reminder of how fragile life is and to make the most of every day.

This is a great set for journaling and mixed media projects, and Mark’s cracked glass stamp makes an awesome background!

Here are some of the gorgeous Design Team projects created with this set…

Visible Image stamps - How Fragile We Are - Cracked Glass stamp - Veerle Moreels

Stunning tag by Veerle, love how she used the cracked glass stamp on the heart.

Brightening Your Day @ Visible Image

Hello 🙂 We are back with more brilliant inspiration for you!

Elina Strömberg‎ has been creating the most amazing cards with our NEW stamps…

Hi!

Have you been following the product release news in the Visible Image Facebook group over the past days? Don’t the new February release items just get your creative juices flowing! If you want to get a good overview of the entire product release just follow this link to see them all!

I was very lucky to have the chance to play with those goodies already a few days back. And here’s a set of three cards I made:

The versatile Shine Bright stamp set was perfect for playing with watercolours. I started with stamping the lightbulb image on heavy watercolour paper, and continued with covering the edges with masking fluid. Masking fluid protected my lightbulb when I started adding yellow and orange watercolours on the background.

2016-02-10 Visible Image stamps - Shine Bright - light bulb stamp - Elina Stromberg

Once the watercolour was dry I wanted to add more texture on the background, and used yellow ink and a mask to draw light beams around the lightbulb.

I finished the card by colouring the lightbulb with water soluable crayons and white gesso, and heat embossed the ‘Shine Bright’ text on the card front.

Orange and yellow were the main colours for the following two cards, too. The adorable 80’s look of the cassette in the ‘Just Hit Play’ stamp set made me choose a bit retro colour palette with several yellow and orange tones. (Or maybe it was the rainy and grey winter weather that asked again for bright sunny colours, lol!)

I started the CAS style card with stamping circles on the background. I stamped the image one more time on a piece of scrap paper, cut out the center of it, and used the piece of paper as a mask when colouring the circles. I did not colour all the circles as I wanted the background to have enough white in order to keep the look light and airy.

Stamping the quote on two lines only required some masking, as the stamp holds the texts on four lines. For alining the texts perfectly I could have used a stamp placement tool, but I did not mind that the lines were jumping a bit.

I used a piece of white vellum as quote background. Vellum is an easy way to calm down a busy background and to highlight elements like this quote text.

I often continue the card front pattern on the inside of the card. I think it gives the project a nice finished look. This time I simply cut a slip of white cardstock, stamped the same circles images on it, coloured them with yellow ink, glued the strip on a piece of vellum, and adhered it on the inside of the card. Done!

2016-02-10 Visible Image stamps - Just Hit Play - scribbled circles stamps - Elina Stromberg

When inking the yellow and orange background of my second ‘Just Hit Play’ card I used a strip of scrap paper as a mask. When finished I splashed some water on the inked surface, and after drying with the heat gun the light splash marks created a nice texture on the colourful background.

2016-02-10 Visible Image stamps - Just Hit Play - cassette tape stamp - Elina Stromberg

Then I stamped the cassette image on white cardstock, cut it out, and glued it on a piece of corrugated cardboard. 3D stickers would have worked just as fine, but cardboard is a much cheaper material when you need to lift a larger element from the background. Under the cassette there’s some black sewing thread that I glued down with tiny glue marks.

I’m sure I will use both of these new stamp sets not just for creating more cards, but also for decorating my scrapbooking layouts and art journal projects. The images are stunning, and I know they both will be a big hit!

Shine Bright @ Visible Image

Good Evening! We are back with some awesome inspiration this evening!

First up is Katy Leitch with this amazing Monolith..

2016-02-10 Visible Image - freestanding MDF - Light Bulb stamp - Katy Leitch

Hello there! My make for the Visible Image DT today uses two of their BRAND NEW releases which are now available to pre-order. As soon as I saw the Shine Bright stamp I knew I wanted it. Something that little bit different…

2016-02-10 Visible Image - Light Bulb stamp - Katy Leitch

Also new are the MDF monoliths which are perfect for making pieces for display and also for practical makes (more on that from some of my teamies to come). I’ve created something purely decorative today.

2016-02-10 Visible Image - Light Bulb stamp - Katy Leitch 2

Here’s how I made it:

1) To create the background I layered scrunched tissue paper over cardstock (you could also work straight onto the MDF if you prefer). I added a die cut clock and some string before painting the whole thing with black gesso,

2) When the gesso had dried, I dry-brushed all over with paint in purple and blue shades (I used DecoArt Media Fluid Acrylics). After that, I dry-brushed a very small amount of white gesso onto some of the raised areas.

3) I painted some die cut cogs with silver metallic paint (also DecoArt Media) and added them to the background along with some washers and nuts from the DIY store.

4) I stamped the light bulb onto white card and coloured it with Distress Inks (Mustard Seed and Wild Honey). I added silver Sakura Gelly Roll metallic pen to the lower parts.

5) I then stamped the lightbulb again onto Dura-Lar film using StazOn (you could use acetate instead). The Dura-Lar can be heated and gently shaped and here it’s curved gently to resemble a ‘real’ lightbulb. Apply more silver pen to the back of the film light bulb and glue it over the card one, just adding the glue towards the base where the black stamping will hide it.

6) Stamp a portion of the ‘inspire’ dictionary stamp onto a scrap of card, swipe lightly with Distress Ink in Mustard Seed before securing behind a bookplate.

Hope you LOVE this stamp as much as me!

Mixed Media Tags by Denisa – Visible Image Stamps

Hi there! Today we are sharing two stunning mixed media tags by Denisa Gryczova‎

So excited to share my latest projects made for Visible Image. I was lucky to try out brand new goodies from Visible Image. The first fabulous stamp is such a gorgeous image of the dragonfly. I simply adore these detailed wings. The second one is awesome unicorn silluette covered in beautiful sparkles.

Each of the stamps is accompanied with a sentiment that can be used separately. As I did on the second tag. Versatile – this is what they truly are!

Besides they´re deeply etched for perfectly stamped images. And packed in super plastic bags that will last forever. Irresistable, aren´t they?!

Here are the two mixed media tags I created using these perfect yummy stamps.

Visible Image stamps - Dragonfly - Mixed Media Tag - Denisa

The dragonfly image was hot embossed on the vellum paper, cut out and glued on the mixed media background. No doubt it´s gonna be my No.1 stamp!

Visible Image stamps - A Little Magic - Mixed Media Tag - Denisa

Here the sentiment was simply stamped on the tag using black Archival ink.

Monday Inspiration Part 2 @ Visible Image

Good Evening! We are back with our second dose of awesome inspiration here on the blog!

Over to Kim Bacon…

Hello!

How wonderful are these new stamps from Visible Image?

My make this week uses the totally brilliant light bulb.

Visible Image stamps - Shine Bright - Light Bulb stamp - Kim Bacon

I used Brushos (do I use anything else?) to make the background in shades of green and yellow along with the Grunge Polka Dot stamp.

Using black embossing powder I then stamped the light bulb onto white card which was then coloured in using yellow Brusho.

Visible Image stamps - Shine Bright - Light Bulb stamp - Kim Bacon 2

The sentiment was stamped onto yellow card also using black embossing powder.

I glazed the light bulb once I had cut it out, using a glazing liquid. I have some very old Diamond Glaze but you could do it using clear embossing powder I suppose.

Monday Inspiration Part 1 @ Visible Image

Good Morning! Hope you had a great weekend 🙂

This coming week is packed full of gorgeous inspiration created with our NEW stamps, leading up to our show on Create and Craft TV on Sunday at 10am… Valentine’s day… a perfect day to spread some Visible Image LOVE! ♡ ♡ ♡ And we know you will love not only the products on the show but the amazing demo’s Mark and Pauline have planned! We can’t wait!!!

Today we have 2 awesome projects here on the blog. First up is our US Design Team member Kim Johnny with her very first Monolith…

Today I am so excited to share my first project made with the awesome new products by Visible Image!! Yay!

As part of the design  team, I was very grateful to be given some of the new MDF “Monoliths” and new stamps to play and share today. The Monoliths and Dragonfly “Live in the Moment” are available for pre-order now!

This play was lots of fun and I really tried to use everything I love in making it!

Visible Image stamps - Live In The Moment - Dragonfly stamp - Kim Johnny

The Monolith is a wonderful size and is designed to work with the stamps perfectly. It is 17cm x 10cm. About 6 inches by 4 inches and a sturdy 3mm thick, laser cut and smooth. And I know it’s weird, but the wood smells good, too. Yeah I know weird but I love the smell of pencils and wood 🙂
I created the background with my DecoArt Blogger stash. Yummy DecoArt Crackle Paste, Fluid Acrylics and Antiquing Cream.

Visible Image stamps - Live In The Moment - Dragonfly stamp - Kim Johnny 2

The flip side is collaged with mat medium and DecoArt Fluid Acrylics. It is edged in the DA Fluid Acrylic Gold, love the shine it has.

Everything is heat embossed because I love embossing and dragonflies. So I had to combine all the things I love in this project. It makes them shine 🙂 I used Ranger Extra Fine Black and Recollections Bronze powders.

Sparkle In The Rain Monolith – Visible Image Stamps

Hi there! We are very excited to share this incredible piece of art work from Susanne Rose today…

Visible Image stamps - Sparkle In The Rain, MDF Monolith, Mixed Media Art - Susanne Rose

Hi my dear Visible Image friends!

I’m sharing my first Monolith today! It’s a mdf stand alone Monolith. Perfect for mixed media. I love it. And a bonus is, you can decorate both sides! So you can turn it from time to time! For my front I used black chalkboard paint and covered the whole surface. After this was completely dry I used Fran-tage embossing enamel together with the “Sparkle in the Rain” girl. To get a good coverage I embossed it two times. That means: Immediately after the first layer is melted you add another layer of powder. It will stick to your first impression, because it’s is still hot. You have to be quick, but keep in mind to put away you heat gun, to not blow away the powder. Some on the enamel will stick to the background as well. That’s because it is so hot. But I really like that. So the contrast is not too hard.

I used Gelatos to add color. They are working great on the chalkboard. I add some texture with the Tim Holtz Speckles stencil and structure paste.

I split the sentiment by masking one part with Washi tape. Don’t forget to remove the tape before you stamp. The word “SPARKLE” is embossed with some glitter teal powder.

The flowers are all handmade paperflowers. I used dies from Sizzix and Marianne Design. The blue one is cut with my Silhouette Cameo. I add some wire and gems for more interest.

My back is totally simple. It’s also covered with chalkboard paint. Of course that means you can write on it with chalk!

Visible Image Debut – Veerle Moreels

Hello! We are back with more gorgeous inspiration for you, and the very first post by NEW Design Team member Veerle Moreels…

My very first project to share with you is a tag and the moment I saw this new text stamp
I knew what I wanted to make…

That needed a butterfly don’t you think so too? I colored him in using my Gansai Tambi
watercolor paints and used the same color together with some black to make my background.

And to bring some of the metallic back at the bottom of the tag,
I attached my text using a fine metallic wire…

And the finished tag…

Colourful Rain – Visible Image Stamps

Thank you for coming to visit our blog today 🙂

We are catching up with all the latest Design Team inspiration from the last few days, kicking off with Corrie Herriman…

Hello everyone,

I can’t get enough of this Visible Image  ‘Sparkle in the rain’ stamp set.  Isn’t it gorgeous…. So you probably haven’t seen the last of it…

Visible Image stamps - Sparkle In The Rain - Corrie Herriman

For this card the background was made with Distress Inks and a blending tool on a piece of white card stock which was cut slightly smaller than the card. I stamped the background with a swirl and water and a script stamp with grey archival ink. Next I stamped the girl under the umbrella and splattered some white ink.  I coloured some book text with the same distress inks and punched circles from it. I adhered these circles randomly on the card panel and then stamped part of the sentiment. I then doodled around the edge of the panel. Lastly I adhered the panel to the card.

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Amazing card Corrie! Loving those circles and the fabulous background! Thank you ♡

We have something very beautiful from Veerle Moreels coming up shortly, as she makes her debut here on the Visible Image blog!

Hit The Play Button @ Visible Image

Hello! We are back with more exciting NEW stamps inspiration!

Over to Teresa Morgan…

Hello and welcome back for another dose of stamping inspiration. Once again I am sharing another of the fantastic new release designs which is called ‘Just Hit Play’.

Visible Image stamps - Just Hit Play - Retro cassette tape stamp - Teresa Morgan

Teresa Morgan

I love the detail in this photo realistic cassette stamp and the funky button icons in the sentiment. I went with some bright (slightly retro) colours to keep this card loud and upbeat.

The background is created with Dylusions Spray Inks, and the cassettes were stamped onto white card then carefully cut out then glued in place. The excess was trimmed from around the edges.

Visible Image Stamps - Just Hit Play

The sentiment was stamped onto a strip of black card then embossed with opaque WOW powders.

Visible Image Stamps - Just Hit Play

I hope you are as excited to see these fabulous new releases as we are – all the new designs are now available to pre-order on the website, six of them will be launched on Create and Craft TV on Sunday 14th February.

Visible Image Debut – Shilpa Nagaonkar

We’re back, as promised, with more fabulous inspiration from our amazing team!

It’s Shilpa’s debut for Visible Image here on the blog today, with 2 stunning projects… Something old and something new!

Hello Everyone,

I would like to share with you my first creation with Visible Image stamps.

I’ve created Mixed Media Canvas

Visible Image stamps - Never Give Up On Your Dream - Shilpa

It was fun to work with texture stamps and I love that large butterfly.

Visible Image Stamps used here:

Today, I am also sharing a fun project with you…

Visible Image has newly introduced MDF Monoliths which are awesome for mixed media work and stamping.

And here, I’ve used one of the newest stamps as well.. Unicorn Magic

Visible Image stamps - MDF Monolith - Unicorn Magic - Shilpa

These MDF monoliths have smooth surface. I have used distress paints wild honey, seedless preserve, pine needles to color this side. For more texture and interest I’ve done stenciling with texture paste and paints. On another white paper I stamped Unicorn, cut it and adhered on the surface.

And here is the backside, I’ve used the sentiment from same stamp set.

These can be unique gifts for anyone!

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Shilpa

Two fabulous projects Shilpa!  Love all the texture on your canvas, it’s so beautiful ♡ Thank you!

We will be back soon with more awesome inspiration!

Moments in Blue – Visible Image Stamps

Hello! Thanks for visiting our blog today 🙂

We have some fabulous inspiration for you this evening, so let’s get started!

Over to Dot Leathbridge, our Australian DT member…

New Stamps, New Products!

It is all happening at Visible Image at the moment…

with lots and lots of new stamps (yummy)
and something else altogether completely new ~ MONOLITHS.

Monoliths are MDF boards which come with a stand.
You can work on both sides.
~ and that is double the fun!!!

You can even use them as a kind of mood board ~ so either side reflects a different feeling…there are soooo many possibilites…

They are perfect for anything mixed media.
And they come in packs of 5.

Oh, and not so big that you can’t use your stamps on it,
in fact…they are specifically designed for our stamps!

So here is my first MONOLITH…

Visible Image stamps - MDF Monolith - Live IN The Moment - Dragonfly - Dot Leathbridge

After I did this I then did the other side ~
and forgot to take a pic.  Sorry about that.

Stamps Used:
Live In The Moment (new ~ & available for pre-order)

This side was sprayed with some mica’s from Finnabair,
and the other side was dribbled with some alcohol inks…in similar colours.
I wanted it to be similar, but different – if that makes sense.

The butterflies were stamped onto tissue paper and then applied.

To finish, I decided to paint around the base and edges with some black gesso…
ooops, sorry, I didn’t take that pic either…

Visible Image will be on Create & Craft this Valentine’s Day
(10am) for those who would like to see Mark and Pauline play with the new products.
I still haven’t got around to blowing ink around through a Bic pen yet after the last show!
It is on my to-do list though.

It is absolutely awesome to be able to see what people look like and hear the sound of their voices…
it makes the world that bit smaller I think.

  • SO, new stamps (pre-ordering is under way)
  • new MDF boards
  • Create and Craft on TV (Feb 14th, 10am)
  • and the UK Trade Show (end of Feb)

~ are all things happening with Visible Image over the next few weeks! Busy times!!!

And it’s so exciting to be a part of it all.

Enjoy!

Dot

This is absolutely stunning Dot.. the colours and texture are really beautiful ♡ Thank you!

We will be back soon with Shilpa’s Visible Image debut! And an awesome card from Teresa too 🙂

See you soon!
