Music Soothes The Soul

Hello! Thank you for coming to check out today’s post.

Elina Str√∂mberg is here with some awesome music themed inspiration…

Hi!
Artist trading cards (ATC) provide the perfect size for a miniature collage. One could think that creating a small ATC would take much less time than making a standard sized card, but often that’s not the case for me. When there isn’t too much space to play around I tend to spend more time on the card design and on selecting just the right elements for my project; the card must not get too busy but then again it should not be too simplified, empty nor boring.

When I have collected the elements for my collage project I may realize that I’m not able fit all the planned fun things on a single ATC. The solution is to create a series of ATC’s, in which the cards are connected to the ATC set by a common theme, technique and/or colour palette.

When creating these musical ATC’s I first stamped and heat embossed the B&W main images. The images were too big to fit on one or even two cards so I made three backgrounds with Distress paints. I decorated the backgrounds with white acrylic paint dots and stamped music patterns, and before gluing down the main images I attached the colourful backgrounds on white ATC card bases (size 2,5″x3,5″).

I really like my ATC trio! The cards are similar but yet unique ūüôā

Feel The Beat

Hi there! Thank you for stopping by today!

We are really excited to be sharing preview #9 from our February NEW stamps release a little later!

But before that, Pauline Butcher is here with some amazing music themed inspiration for you…

Hello again,

It’s Fabulous Friday, and I’m here to share a creation I’ve made, using some fantastic¬†Visible Image Stamps.

2017-01-20 Visible Image - music stamps - Pauline Butcher

I started with some white Water colour card, and sprinkled various colours of Brusho’s randomly on to it, then spritzed with water ( the more water you add, the more the colours will run into each other, and the paler they become). I dried it with my heat tool, (Brusho’s become permanent¬†when dry) I then repeated the application.

When it was dry, I stamped the two figures in the foreground, using Versamark, and heat embossed them using Black Glint Embossing powder. I then made masks out of a couple of post-it notes, and covered the figures, so’s I could stamp the Drummer behind them, he was heat embossed using Black powder.

Whilst the masks were still in place, I put a stencil on top, and added some Diamond Sparkle Medium through it, using a palette knife, this looks like laser lights on the stage.

¬†Using some silver paint and a white pen, I added all the highlights to the ‘Band’, to give them some perspective. The sentiment was added using Versamark and some Red Glitter Embossing Powder.

To finish off, I ‘grounded’ the Band, using some red Distress Ink, stamped some little stars in Black Versafine, and then added Stardust Stickles wherever I fancied !!!

The stamps I used are..

Thanks for dropping in.
Hugs, Pauline xxxxx

Jazzing Up The New Year!

Hello! We have¬†some¬†awesome musical inspiration for you today from our Australian designer Dot Leathbridge…

Herald In The New Year

This¬†jazz player from the¬†“Jazz it Up”¬†set seemed like the perfect way to kick off the new year.

I hope everyone had a fantastic night for the New Year’s celebrations, partied hard and stayed safe.

For me…it was down at the beach, slouching back in a camper chair and letting the fireworks fall down right over the top of me. Catching up with old friends, meeting new ones and having a couple of quiet drinks…it was another great night of seeing out the old and heralding in the new year.

2017-01-04-visible-image-jazz-it-up-sax-player-stamp-dot-leathbridge

This is the beginning of my 2nd year with¬†Visible Image¬†and I can’t wait to see what exciting things Mark and Helen have in store for us all.

Mark and Helen have also settled into their new HQ and are rearing to go.

The background for this one is quite simple, using alcohol inks. The brightness of the colours make the silhouette of the jazz player stand out. ¬†This¬†Jazz It Up¬†set has been a favourite of mine since the very beginning…so versatile and full of fun!

I love the new additions to this set and what has been introduced across the whole range at Visible Image.  The new stars from the Feel The Beat set were a perfect finish for this card.

For me, I have been adding to my stock and now have quite a good range of¬†Visible Image¬†stamps for sale in Australia….so, exciting times ahead. My e-mail addy for any enquiries is:¬†dleathbridge@hotmail.com

Rock Stars – Visible Image

Hello! Teresa Morgan has an awesome card to share with you…

This week I have a cool card for all you music fans out there!

I have used some of the fantastic new accessory stamps in the Rock Out set from Visible Image.

visible-image-stamps-rock-out-guitarist-stamp-teresa-morgan

I used shades of blue, green and purple Distress Inks blended together for the background. The guitars are stamped with Archival ink and highlighted with Glossy Accents.

Rock Out - Visible Image Stamps

The large stars are stamped with the same Distress Inks randomly across the base. Once dry the border stamp is stamped with Versamark Ink and embossed with Silver Pearl embossing powder. I then swiped the Versamark pad along the edges and embossed with Silver Tinsel embossing powder.

Rock Out - Visible Image Stamps

The Rock Out stamp is also embossed with Silver Tinsel embossing powder, cut into a banner shape and mounted on 3d foam. I used some Black Distress Ink just inside the star border to add some depth and create a 3d effect.

Vinyl Revival @ Visible Image

Hi there! Thank you so much for visiting our blog today!

We are continuing with the amazing inspiration created for our Create and Craft TV shows this coming weekend.

Over to Teresa who has an awesome project to share with you today…

Are you looking forward to watching Visible Image on Create and Craft this week??? I certainly am, and for the first time all my friends in the US are too!!

Just in case you haven‚Äôt heard, Visible Image are making their debut on Create and Craft USA on Friday 9th September¬†13:00 EST & 16:00 EST (6pm & 9pm UK time)‚Ķ‚Ķbut don‚Äôt worry, fellow Brits ‚Äď you can watch them here on Create and Craft UK on Saturday 10th September at 4pm too!!!

As you can imagine, there has been a lot of behind the scenes activity preparing for these shows and today I am sharing a card I made especially for them using The Ripple Effect and Music On World Off sets:

visible-image-stamps-music-on-world-off-ripple-background-stamp-teresa-morgan

I was inspired to create my ‚Äėvinyl‚Äô records as the ripple stamp reminded me of the grooves in records. I die cut some circles of black card and embossed the ripple stamp on them using WOW Powders Black Glint embossing powder. I then die cut the centres from coloured card, added some detail with a white gel pen and cut the centre holes out.

Visible Image Stamps - The Ripple Effect, Music On World Off

The background was created with DecoArt Media Fluid acrylics and my Gelli Plate. I stamped the words and small circles with black Archival ink.

Visible Image Stamps - The Ripple Effect, Music On World Off

These stamp sets are so versatile and I hope that my project and those of my fabulous team mates inspire you to make a purchase.

Please tune in to the shows on Create and Craft UK/USA ‚Äď Mark and Pauline have some fabulous demos lined up and there will be multi-buy offers that you won‚Äôt want to miss!!

Jazz It Up – Visible Image stamps

Good Evening! Hope Monday is being gentle with you!!!

We are kicking off this week’s inspiration with something funky from Kim Bacon…

Hello!

Today I have a jazzy little card for you using a fantastic silhouette of a sax player, as well as some of the brilliantly versatile background stamps.

Visible Image stamps - Jazz It Up - Kim Bacon

As is usual for me I started colouring some white card with Brusho paints. I just love the zesty lime alongside the hot orange.

I used bleach – yep, bleach – with the plasma squiggle from the Universal set.

Visible Image stamps are made with top quality¬†photopolymer¬†and I haven’t yet¬†had any problem using bleach on them. I do still err on the side of caution and wipe my stamps straight away with a baby wipe and then after the crafting session I wash them in warm water before air drying and storing back in their pockets.

Anyway, squiggles done, I then used a blended ink pad in shades of green with the spotty plasma circle from the Universal set directly over the top.

Using black embossing powder I stamped the jazz player and the sentiment onto pieces of card that would contrast well when added to the background card.

Here are the stamp sets I used for this card…

Happy Days!  Kim

Visible Image Debut ‚Äď Dot Leathbridge

Hello ūüôā Thank you for coming to visit us here on the Visible Image blog today!

We are very excited to be sharing the very first Design Team project by Dot Leathbridge today…

It’s been an exciting time waiting for my first make as part of the¬†Visible Image¬†DT. ¬†It is great to get the first one done!

There is so much buzz among the team at the moment because there are heaps of new stamps to be released next month – and they look amazing!!! Sneak peaks are appearing on the Facebook¬†group, there is a launch on Create and Craft¬†TV (in Feb) and at the UK Trade Show (also in Feb)…so lots to watch out for!

Today I wanted to do something with a little pazzazz Рso I decided on a blast of music!

Visible Image stamps - Jazz It Up - Silhouette Sax & trumpet player stamps - Dot Leithbridge

These stamps were so much fun to play with!

There are more music themed ones in the collection, but I love music festivals and live bands so wanted to make a kind of raw, back to basics jazz/blues card.

I cut out a circle die and placed it in the center of the card, then inked up the background with some bright distress inks.

The white bubbles are made through a stencil with acrylic paint.

Then I thought I would flick some red Brusho (mixed with water) onto the card for some extra colour – and it splattered onto the white section…so I added some carefully placed red circles (through a stencil) to cover it up…
remember…¬†there is no such thing as a mistake – just a new opportunity!

I stamped the silhouettes, added some partial stamping of the music notes, and from the flourish stamp (around the edge), and the words to finish off.

When I made this card we all heard of the passing of David Bowie, so when I look at this card I think of the song “Dancing In The Street”…if you wanted to have a go at making this, you could quite easily journal the words to that song around the edge and I think it would look awesome.

The stamps used were:

There’s inspiration almost every day on the¬†Visible Image blog¬†as well as sharing of ideas and inspiration over on the¬†Facebook¬†page.

Enjoy!

Wow! Amazing card Dot thank you ♡

All That Jazz @ Visible Image

Good afternoon! We are back with more fantastic inspiration for you here on the Visible Image blog today.

Over to Lisa Nygards for her latest card…

This is a fun technique to do, even if it shows up best in real life, not in photo.

I inked up a piece of paper with yellow and orange tones of distress ink. Swirl and blend them together a bit with blending tool (no inkpad direct on paper). Then I put some white mica-powder on top of it with a brush.

I embossed the paper with an embossing folder so it got a 3D look. Then I used this piece on my card as a background to the lovely stamps from the Jazz it Up set.

This technique is called faux metallic and you’ll find a great video of it (where I’ve learned this) at Jennifer McGuire.

ROCK OUT – Visible Image stamps

Good Afternoon! We are back with our 3rd inspirational post today… wowza! We hope you have been suitably inspired ¬†‚̧

Our final post for today comes from Pauline Butcher who, as always, is injecting some colour into Friday!!!

Helloooo,

I hope you are all well, just a quickie today, a card I made for one of my recent workshops, I do love passing on techniques.

The unique stamps I’ve used, are designed and made by hand,¬†
by Mark and Helen at Visible Image, they both work very hard, and are very passionate about their company and their fabulous stamps.

2015-10-29-Visible-Image-stamps- You Rock - Pauline Butcher

I used Brusho’s for the background, along with spray starch and cling film, such a cool vibrant outcome!
I stamped the sentiment with Versamark, mixing 2 colours of sparkle Embossing powder, before heating to set.

The Image is made using Angelina Fibres, placed on top of the stamp which has Versamark on, then ironed, such a fab technique, and finally fussy cut.

If you are going to the NEC next week, do pop along to the Visible Image Stand, B09 where you meet Helen and Mark, see some of the stunning stamps available, also see loads of inspirational DT work, and you will also see me, I am doing ‘Make & Takes’, but get in early to book your place as they are limited.

Drum in Colour

Hey! ūüôā We’re back with even more inspiration today!!! Woweee we are spoiling you ūüėČ

Pauline Butcher is certain to brighten your day with her latest creation! Over to Pauline…

Hi there,

I’m doing my¬†Visible Image Stamps¬†blog early this week,¬†as I have swapped with my teamie Sue.

This is a card I created at the beginning of the month, using some fantastic Visible Image Stamps, for my Wonderful partner Rob’s Birthday. He is a¬†drummer, so these new music themed stamps are genius for him.

Visible Image stamps - Drummer - Feel The Beat - Music stamps - Pauline Butcher

The Visible Image stamps I used were…….

I started off with a 5 1/4″ x 5 1/4″ piece of Centura Pearl card, (I always use the mat side of the card for blending Distress Inks, it’s nice and smooth). ¬†I blended Mustard Seed, Picked Raspberry and Peacock Feathers onto it, making sure that there was Mustard Seed in the middle. I then used the star stamp from the Universal set and stamped 4 stars using the same colours tone on tone. I Stamped the drummer and the sentiment using Versamark, and heat embossed with black powder. Using the feather stamp from ‘Angels are near’, I stamped just the inky tip around the edges using the same colours, tone on tone again, and then another layer at the edge using Chipped¬†Sapphire.

This would have made a great 6″x 6″ card, but I decided to go bigger, lol. ¬†So, on the mat side of a piece of Centura Pearl 7 1/4″ x 7 1/4″, and using the music stamp, I stamped from the middle out all the way around the card, again using the same 3 colours to co-ordinate with the topper. I then stamped the tip of the feather, again using Chipped Sapphire, around the edges. To finish off, I added Black Stickles to the sentiment, parts of the Drummer, and the edges of the larger background, I ¬†then mat and layered onto an 8″ x 8″ card blank.

Don’t forget to enter the Visible Image ‘Show and Tell’ competition, for a chance to win some fantastic stamps, details¬†HERE.

Also visit the Visible Image Facebook Group¬†HERE, there’s always lots going on, and plenty of inspiration too.

There is a Visible Image Workshop day, in Bristol, on Sunday 17th May..
¬†10am – 4pm, organised by the¬†‘Out of the Blue – Gift Shop’.

I shall be conducting 2 workshops, using some very unique Visible Image stamps, at the Compass Inn, Tormarton, included in the day is a yummy Roast Dinner, for more details or to book phone 01454 312355.

Thank you once again for visiting,
Big hugs, Pauline xxxxx

Such an amazing card! Love how Pauline has stamped the Music wave around the edges and cool use of the feather too! Striking colours and doesn’t the ‘Universal Set’ make an awesome background!

If you are in or around the Bristol area, Pauline’s workshops are superb – it will be a fantastic day on May 17th. ¬†You can find more of Pauline’s awesome work¬†over on her blog.

If you missed any of today’s earlier posts, you will find them HERE

We will be back again later with ‘Wonderful Wednesday’ inspiration from Kim Robertson and Lisa Nygards. Then we will be all caught up and normal daily¬†inspiration will resume tomorrow with Teresa!

Funky Music Coasters – Visible Image Stamps

Hello! It’s Fridayyyyyy ūüôā ¬†And that can only mean one thing…

Here’s the fabulously talented Pauline Butcher with today’s awesome inspiration

Hi again crafty friends,

Today I’d like to share a set of Coasters, from Candy Box Crafts Ltd., that I’ve decorated,¬†using the new unique Music stamps from¬†Visible Image.

These were a sample for my Inky Workshop 3, the results of this fab day are on the post below, do take a look.

Visible Image stamps - Funky Music stamps - Band - Jazz - Coasters - Pauline Butcher

The stamps I used for these coasters were……….
Feel The Beat,¬†Sing,¬†Rock Out,¬†Jazz it Up,¬†Play it Loud¬†and¬†Soul Music, the little edging stamp is a sneak peek of the Visible Image freebie, it’s out very soon in the May issue of Craft Stamper.

I painted all the components with a neutral base colour acrylic paint, used a stencil from my stash with distress inks for the background, then stamped the fab images on to each coaster using the very bright Oak House Studio ink pads, I completed it with a dash of a Gold paint pen, Stickles and some Treasure Gold gilding wax.

There is still loads of time to get your Visible Image entry into the ‘Show & Tell’, for a chance of winning some new stamps of your choice, take a look¬†HERE.

Pop along to the Visible Image Facebook group to see all the news, and lots of inspiration HERE.

Rock Out – Visible Image stamps

Hi There! Hope you’re having a good Saturday ūüôā

Today Amber is here with more new stamps inspiration…

Hey guys! ¬†Visible Image¬†has a TON of¬†new stamps! ¬†On today’s card I used¬†Rock Out, and¬†Universal. ¬†I started by stamping the circles in red and yellow. ¬†Next I stamped my rocker guy and heat embossed him with clear embossing powder. ¬†I drew a thin black border, and adhered my card front to a black card base. ¬†I stamped the sentiment in black, and again in yellow to add dimension. ¬†I adhered the sentiment strip to the card with foam adhesive.
