Life Can Be Tough

Hello! Yes we are back with even more gorgeous inspiration! If you have missed any of our catch up posts this weekend you will find them HERE!

Over to Veerle Moreels who has a beautiful card and a video tutorial for you…

Today I have a CAS card made with the Face it stamps and another beautiful words stamp.

I have to admit…these words already ended up on a lot of cards, I’m completely in love with it.

Even though it’s a CAS card I did film it, just to show how easy it is to keep the eyes nice and white…

The end result…

Life Can Be Tough

Hello! We are back with more amazing NEW stamps inspiration here on the blog today!

Elina Strömberg has got her hands on our Face it stamps…

Hi!
Have you seen all the gorgeous new stamps Visible Image has just released? If you have missed some, you can view the entire new collection here!

One of the inspiring new sets is Face It! that is perfect for cardmaking but also for art journaling. I played with the set and the face stencil last weekend, and made this painted journal page:

There are several layers of acrylic paints and crayon colours on the page, and I really enjoyed the creative process. Painting a face has never been so easy! She has a serious face, and I thought the stamped quote was a perfect match to her expression:

Using the face stencil is super simple. The only thing that may require some attention is the positioning of the eyes, nose and mouth. The eye line divides the head in half (measured from the top of the head to the chin), and a common mistake is to place the eyes either too low or too high. My impression was that the stencil is indicating the face shape only until the hair line, so the eye line is above the center of the stencil. Once you have the eyes in place, the printed face image on the stamp set will help you in positioning the mouth/nose.

The below picture from WikiHow may be helpful:

If you’re not creating a complete face (like on a card) there’s usually no need to consider the positioning at all 🙂

Glimmer of Light Journal – Visible Image

Hello again! We are back with more gorgeous inspiration for you!

Over to Sue Davies who has a brilliant journal page to share…

Good morning, it’s my turn to share a Visible Image project with you, and I’ve been feeling very bold!  I’ve made a journal page, straight into the book without a safety net.

This is the best photograph I can get as we’re slightly lacking in the old daylight department.

This is lots of Distress Ink blended in patches, with some stencilling in the same colours.  I liked it, but boy was it bright, so I toned it down a bit with some gesso through a stencil. The edging stamp is from the Music on World Off set.

Time for some fun now in building up the background. I’ve used Ranger Archival inks to stamp my quotes from Imagine, Dream, Inspire, and there’s also circles from Universal.

I’ve been wanting to use the Glimmer of Light stamp set for a while now, but I’ve been in Halloween (thankfully gone) or Christmas (OMG it’s getting close) mode for weeks, but today was playday!

Don’t you just love this moth! He’s just stamped onto the background and coloured in places with Stabilo pencils. I stamped the light bulb into the previously stamped circle, then stamped the circle again and embossed in white.

And this is the quote, stamped and embossed with black fine EP. I’ve just highlighted bits and bobs with stencils and Portfolio pastels. This was such fun to make once I’d got over the terrors of stamping in my shiny new journal.
