Imperfect Butterfly

Good Evening and Happy Friday to  you!

Wow what a busy and very exciting week we have had… Mark has been creating some incredible new stamps for release early in 2018! Cannot wait to show you!!!

Meantime, Pauline Butcher is here with some gorgeous inspiration for you today…

Hello there,

Here I am again with another ‘Visible Image’ Fabulous Friday project.

This one is very easy to achieve, and I’ve used this technique at some of my recent Inky Workshops.

It would work with quite a few of the fantastic Visible Image silhouette stamps, but I chose to use the beautiful butterfly out of the Live Life Now set:

and the sentiment is from the Imperfection is Beauty set:

The card stock I used is Watercolour card, and I heat embossed the large butterflies using Wow Bright White embossing powder.  I then sprinkled some Brushos onto the card and spritzed with water, adding more colour and more water to get the effect I wanted, I then left this to dry naturally.

Once dry, I added the smaller butterflies using a Distress Ink, then stamped and heat embossed the sentiment using Ebony embossing powder from Wow.

Thanks for visiting,
Hugs
Pauline xxxxx

Imperfection is Beauty

Hello! We have some rather fabulous inspiration from Pauline Butcher here on the blog today…

Hi again,

It’s Fabulous Friday, so my day to share some Visible Image Love. It’s an exciting day tomorrow 28th January, because all the new stamp designs can be pre-ordered!

This week, I used these stamp sets on my project…

2017-01-17 Visible Image - stamps - Skull - imperfection is beauty - Pauline Butcher.

I stamped the skull onto a piece of white card, using Versamark, and heat embossed it with Black Powder, then masked it using Drawing gum.

I blended Distress inks over the whole card, (Salty Ocean, Picked Raspberry and Mustard Seed), this combination was a little too vivid on this occasion, so I toned it down with a gesso wash (white gesso and water).

When it was dry, I stamped the Ink Splats randomly, using Mustard Seed then Picked Raspberry, I also edged the card using Blueprint sketch.

I stamped the stem (from the Imperfection is beauty set), around the edges, again using Blueprint sketch, and stamped the sentiment with Black Versafine. I then removed the drawing gum.

I used Crackle Accents on the skull, just in the white areas, and left to dry.

I made three flowers, with the sideways facing skulls, stamping onto copy paper using a Kaleidercolor ink pad, I shaped the ‘petals’ with a ball tool, then glued the ‘petals’ together at the narrow end, added a black gem to the centre’s, and covered them with Black Stickles, I also used some Stardust Stickles around the edges of the finished flowers.

I thought that was it, but on the spur of the moment, I added a skeleton to the right of the image, stamped in Antique Linen Distress Ink, and highlighted with a white pen, and half a skeleton to the left. There finished !!!!

Thanks for taking the time to visit.
hugs, Pauline xxx

Imperfection is Beauty – Visible Image

Hi there, thanks for visiting us 🙂

Nicky Gilburt is here to inspire you on the blog today with a gorgeous card…

Hello,

Here’s my latest card.

The main stamps used are from Imperfection is Beauty, and the background features two stamps from The Ripple Effect

visible-image-imperfection-is-beauty-inky-script-flower-stamp-nicky-gilburt

How apt that this is the set that I chose to play with, I had previously made a set of backgrounds with Distress inks, spritzers and paints, and this was one of my least favourites, as I felt it was less than perfect, the ink hadn’t spread evenly across the sheet, making a mottled effect botttom left. However….

when I stamped the two scripty flowers onto separate pieces of coloured card, and cut them out, it all seemed to work. And I thought that the effect actually seemed….right!

I used the bubble circle outlines and stamped and embossed with white, making it super easy to roughly fill them in with watercoloured distress ink. I used the same colour to stamp the other full circles, to tie them together, and stamped random patterns round the edge of my design to add interest and highlights.

I can see a rainbow – Visible Image stamps

Good Evening 🙂 Thanks for coming to visit us.

Here with some Wonderful Wednesday inspiration is Lisa Nyards…

You can’t guess what I’ve done! Oh, maybe you can, the pictures will tell… lol.

I’ve digged through my boxes for some rainbow ink pads, and I found a bunch of them. To my surprice they worked just perfect and I had to play some. I’ve used the leaf from Colours of the Wind from Visible Image. The rainbow pads are small so I used three of them, one green, one blue and one red/yellow one. Dabbed them direct to the stamp and made sure they didn’t overlap too much so they would misscolor from each other.

Then I used a fine spray mist and misted water over the stamp to blend the colors a bit. Stamped the image on watercolor paper. I hold the stamp down for a few sec before I lift it up to let the paper absorbe some color. As I could see there was color left on the stamp, and wanted to see how much, I misted the stamp once again with water and stamped again. It become a lighter impression, fully usable.

Then I stamped the words in black on top.. Imperfection is beauty and All my Tomorrows.
