Dare To Be Different

Hello there! Hope you are having a good day.

Nicky Gilburt is here to brighten up the day with an awesome card…

It’s my first Visible Image blog post of the year using this incredible set of stamps:

Here is the card I made:

Now let me tell you about the fun I had making it!

Firstly I prepared my background with my newest box of delights…an incredible set of Kuretake watercolours, sent to me by a very dear friend. Oh my goodness, the vibrancy in these, I spent a whole evening just playing and making backgrounds by swooshing card over spritzed colour washes and allowing the paint to flow across the papers…it was heavenly!

So when I selected my background for this, fortunately, it was very dry and this enabled me to stamp first the lips, for position and to get the edgy splatty detail, I stamped with clear Versamark and used Cherry Red embossing powder which I then set with my heat gun. I also inked up the top of the sentiment stamp and used white embossing powder, which really stands out, then positioned the word ‘lipstick’ off-centre beneath the lips, as I had a plan for the lipstick.

However to get a really clean impression, and to get the teeth white, I stamped again onto white card.

The mouth : red embossing powder then I coloured over the ‘open’ part with an embossing pen, applying black powder, to create the depth.

The lipstick: Clear Versamark and careful application of Cherry red over the lipstick, then black embossing powder over the case.

The actual slick of lipstick stamp that comes with the set is just so cool, so I used it under the word. This close-up shot also shows how I created a bit of interest on the background by splatting a bit of watery white acrylic paint.

I stamped the OXOs with purple distress ink so that it wouldn’t detract from the focal images, and I hope that it frames it all well.
Last thing – Lip gloss! Well, glossy accents in all the right places, but mmm mmm, luscious lips!!

Sparkly Lips Canvas – Visible Image Stamps

Good Morning and Happy Saturday to you!

Sorry we missed yesterday’s post but it was a crazy busy day! We didn’t manage to get everything finished as planned, so today will now be our last day in work before we wind down and get into ‘Wedding mode’ !!! Getting very excited now… just 6 days to go before the big day ♥ ♥ ♥

So here on the blog today we have triple inspiration for you from Pauline, Susanne and Doreen.

First up, here’s Pauline with her latest Visible Image stamps project…

Hi there,

It’s me, back again, spreading some Visible Image love, superb deeply etched photo-polymer uniquely designed Stamps, which I love to use, can you tell.. lol !!!

2015-08-01 Visible Image stamps - Smile Sparkle Shine - Mixed Media Canvas - Grungy Lips stamp - Pauline Butcher

The very unique stamps I’ve used for this project are……
The lips from Bite meSmile, Sparkle, ShineRipped FishnetInk Splats, and the straight stamp from Edgy.

This week, just for a change, I’ve used a 5″ x 7″ canvas, which I primed with 2 coats of white Gesso. Whilst that was drying, I stamped my main images, the lips and the sentiment, onto some heat resistant acetate, using versamark, and heat embossed them with some pink sparkle embossing powder and fussy cut.

Right, back to the canvas, I added some grunge paste through a stencil, and dried with my heat tool.

I spritzed it all with water, and sprinkled Brusho paints onto it, spritzed with water again, and then let it all drip down. I also mixed some red Brusho with water, and let that drip down too.

Using some gold paint on the Ripped Fishnet and Edgy stamps, I stamped randomly over the canvas. I found an old jar of white ink in one of my drawers, which had gone very thick, but it was perfect for the white drips and circles !!! I edged the canvas with gilding flake, then glued the lips and sentiment into place, and lastly added Stickles for more sparkle.

Inky Lips – Visible Image stamps

Hi there!  Thanks for coming to see us here on the Visible Image blog today.

Today’s inspiration comes from our awesome US Design Team member Amber Kroening…

Hey guys!  Visible Image has a TON of new stamps!

On today’s card I used Bite Me. =D  How cool is this little stamp set!!??

I started by lining my card base with black and white polka dot paper.  Next I stamped my lips and sentiment, and heat embossed them with clear embossing powder.  I trimmed it down to size, and used a black marker to add a thin border around the edge.  I added a black and white twine bow, matted this layer with pink cardstock, and adhered it to my card.
