Exciting Adventures

Hi there, we are back with more awesome inspiration for you this evening. Over to a very excited Jane Tyrrell…

Hello everyone, it is time for some more inspiration from me for Visible Image.

Did you see the show on Create and Craft TV on Saturday? It was awesome and again most of the sets sold out! It was such fun seeing my cards there amongst our talented team’s work. If you missed the show it is available on the website for 7 days via this link

It really was the most marvellous weekend and I can finally share some even more exciting news with you…

Can you guess…. I have been busy knitting for the past few months…

Yes our darling Grand baby arrived on Friday…!

Meet Jack William

The sweetest darling baby brother for Daisy Jane. How blessed we are. He was a couple of weeks early and is tiny… just 5lb 13oz but just perfect and we all adore him!

What a weekend of excitement!

My card today is one that was made as a sample for Saturday’s Show and I waved to it on TV.

I used 2 sets; the Scripted Streets set

I love this set… the script stamp makes is an amazing background script, you can use it for everything.
The map is also such fun.

I also used some words and the awesome paper planes from the Destination Unknown set

This is what I got up to…

I repeat stamped the map onto thin card.

I used some Decoart media paints on another sheet of card to give a medieval feel to the background and repeat stamped the script.

I then die cut the background using a mixed media die to make a leaded glass effect.

I tore up some of maps and scrunched them up to make creases. I

I then opened them up again, added some inks to age them,  and stuck 3 maps to some black card.

When we were on holiday in Italy last summer I bought this sealing wax set in an art shop in Sienna and I knew now was the perfect time to use it .

I also stamped and embossed some words and paper planes from the Destination Unknown set, put on my creative hat and came up with my card.

You can see that I used my black card as a base for my “window”and stuck the maps on top. I then added my trellis mixed media window sheet so that the maps are sandwiched between the layers.

Here are some side close ups to try to show the 3D effect.

I love my wax seal… it even has my initial on it and I will certainly be using it again very soon.

and one final shot

Thanks so much for stopping by.

Back soon.
Bye for now,
Jane x

This is an amazing card, so much detail to discover! Loving the wax seal ♡

The Greatest Journey Lies Ahead

Hello there! Thanks for popping in today.

We have more awesome inspiration to share with you for this weekend’s show on Create and Craft TV!

First up today is Elina Strömberg…

Hi and happy Thursday!

Today I’m sharing with you two colourful tags that I made over the wonderful long weekend:

This time I did not use ready made manila tags but die-cut the size 8 tags myself. Actually I cut both tags twice; once from solid purple paper and once from a colourful paper I had inked with Distress Oxide inks. Oh how I love playing with those!

Whenever I’m working on a colourful background I like to use some contrasting black and white elements that really make the vivid colours pop. Using the fun ‘Visometry’ stamp set by Visible Image I stamped the same geometrical shape several times on a white paper, coloured the triangles with black and grey markers and cut out. It’s always fun to find new ways for using your favourite stamps!

In addition to the Distress Oxide layers I created more background patterns with Visible Image ‘Scripted Streets‘ stamp. The tiny black splashes are black ink.

The word stamps are from Visible Image ‘Destination Unknown‘ stamp set. Again I mixed and matched the quotes in a new way; love that creative puzzle play!

I did not use any dimensional elements on the tags, so both of them are thin which makes them perfect bookmarks, too. I think that the quote text is matching that use; when you have a good book in your hand you know that a great adventure always lies ahead!

Explore Discover Journey

Hi there! We hope you have had a great Easter weekend! We are back with lots of gorgeous inspiration here on the blog today.

We are kicking off with the latest project by Corrie Herriman…

Hello everyone,

and welcome to this blog post for Visible Image. This time I have made a trio of ATC’s.

The backgrounds were made with Tim Holtz’ Distress Oxide Inks. I used ‘Fossilized Amber’, ‘Peeled Paint’,
‘Spiced Marmalade’, ‘Broken China’ and ‘Cracked Pistachio’.  Next I stamped the backgrounds with Broken
China Oxide Ink and Jet Black Archival ink.

I added some doodle lines around the edges and then stamped the main images and words.
The were cut out, apart from the map which I tore out, and adhered to the cards. The word discover
was stamped directly onto the card. I added some twine around the middle card and adhered all
three to a piece of water colour card stock. Makes a nice panel I think…

That was it. Here are some close ups:
