Curious Cat

Good Evening! Hope you are having a good week so far.

Jane Tyrrell is here on the blog today with a fantastic card…

I am here to share my weekly Design Team project for Visible Image stamps. This week I am sharing a make inspired by my sweetest cat Billy. He has shared our home for nearly 10 years now and is just the dearest, most gentle cat you could meet.  In the winter you will find him on his favourite green chair.

He is very timid of strangers and never really strays further than our back garden in the summer.

and he likes to sit on the veranda of my garden studio

One thing all cats love are boxes and yes Billy has his own one where he often takes a cat nap when it’s a bit chilly.

My make today uses the brilliant Curious Cats set of stamps..

and yes his box influenced my make.. here it is…

I made an inky background using distress ink and then stamped “Billy’s” face. I coloured his eyes and nose with a gel pen. I added glossy accents to his eyes and nose to give them real cat like sparkle.

I cut a piece of cardboard packaging to make the surround and stamped the sentiment and paw prints which come in this set.  I cut a hole and then slits in the cardboard and then folded them back and stuck them down to form flaps.

Here are some close ups..

Below is a side view to show the texture and a peep at the inside…

ha ha….Billy in the dark? I used white embossing powder for this..

and one last shot..

This is such a fab set of stamps!

And one final photo to make you smile…yes Billy got in on the act as I took my photos…

such a funny boy and yes he even loves light boxes!

Thanks for stopping by and for all your very kind comments you take the time to leave me. The sunshine returned last week and Billy and I are loved it. We have even managed some cuppas in the garden.

However there are threats that the Beast might be back for a 3rd visit next weekend… I really hope not as that it a very special weekend for me and I have plans!

Back soon.

Bye for now,
Jane x

Young Wild and Free

Good Evening and Happy Friday to you!!

It’s been a very busy and exciting week here, so we are looking forward to a little ‘time out’ this weekend.

Pauline Butcher is here with some gorgeous inspiration to lead us into the weekend…

Hellooooo,

Just popping in to share my ‘Visible Image’ make for this week, after all it is Fabulous Friday !!!!

This week I decided to use one of my favourite ‘Visible Image’ stamp sets, and I know it’s one of yours too, along with a couple of others…

The stamps I used on this card are..

Curious Cats

‘young, wild, free’, from
Free Soul

and the lying down cat from Create It

I created the background using the ‘straight to paper’ technique, using Picked Raspberry, Salty Ocean and Mustard Seed distress inks. I then stamped the cat’s face using Versafine Onyx Black.  I then stippled the face using a small stencil brush and Carved Pumpkin distress inks, I also stamped the three little cats in the same colour. The sentiment was stamped again using Versafine, masking off the bits I didn’t want. I do love this cute Puddy Tat !!!!

Thanks for visiting,
Hugs
Pauline xxxxxxx

Our cat looks fabulous Pauline… amazing background and great words too! Thank you ♡

Billy’s Summer Garden

Hi again! Wow we are spoiling you with inspiration today!!!

Up next is Jane Tyrrell with a superb project featuring our awesome Curious Cats stamps…

A while back I shared a sneak peek of the Visible Image Designer 3D challenge feature for Craft Stamper Magazine. This piece is also very relevant inspiration for the “dimension” challenge running over in the Visible Image Facebook group. All the details and links for this will be at the end of this post.

As you may know, my garden is a constant source for my crafting inspiration. Billy my cat is also a constant shadow out there and he really loves the summer months when we spend many pleasant hours outside.

Billy has a friend called Blackie who visits, so when it came to choosing a set of stamps to work with for my project, I did not hesitate to chose this one…

the amazing Curious Cats set…

I used a Visible Image MDF Monolith and added some die cuts for initial texture

and gave it some colour using these “garden inspired” PaperArsty fresco paints.

I also added some texture paste through my dots and floral stencil.

To give me this base.

I added some shading and the fun paw prints from the set

I stamped my Cat face and carefully applied it.

I then stamped a small dragonfly from the Live in the Moment set

I stamped, embossed and fussy cut out the small cats and die cut some floral elements

It was then time to put on my creative hat..

and here is my finished ‘Billy’s Summer Garden’ Monolith

and a few close ups…

I made a picket fence from coffee stirrers and added a texture paste path

and Glossy Accents to his eyes and his sweet pink nose….?

and to prove that Billy really has a friend called Blackie who visits I took this snap last week..

Thanks so much for stopping by today and for the very kind comments that you take the time to leave. Thank you also for all the lovely messages, texts and emails sent to me after seeing the Create and Craft show too. I love finding out that I can inspire people in their own crafting. I am happy to share my knowledge and techniques.. sharing is caring in my books and we are all on a fun creative journey.

Back soon.
Bye for now,

Jane x

Life Can Be Tough My Darling…

Hi there! We are back with more gorgeous inspiration for you.

Pauline is here to share a fabulous new card featuring one of our incredibly popular designs… yes you guessed it, our Curious Cat!

Hi my lovely friends,

It’s Fabulous Friday once again, so time for me to share one of my creations, made with the help of some fantastic Visible Image Stamps.

This week it’s the turn of that gorgeous Puddy Cat…

Curious Cats

with some flowers from the very useful Create It set

and the sentiment is Life can be Tough

I used acrylic paints for the background, when it was dry I stamped the cat’s face, whiskers, and the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed them using black embossing powder.

I stamped the flowers onto a seperate piece of card using back Versafine ink, coloured them with Distress inks, and fussy cut them.

I coloured the cat’s eyes, and used Glossy Accents to give them a fab shine, then coloured it’s cute little nose.

I added the flowers with a 3D glue gel, and added some stickles.

Thanks once again for popping in, please leave me a comment if you can.

Hugs Pauline xxxx

This is such a gorgeous card and I’m sure anyone receiving it would smile a little smile, whatever challenge they are facing ♡

This sentiment is a must have.. when you don’t have the right words these might be just what you need.

Stunning card, thank you Pauline ♡

Curious Cats

We are back with some more fabulous NEW stamps inspiration for you. Over to Pauline Butcher…

Hello,

It’s my turn to share a creation using some if the awesome new stamp sets from Visible Image Stamps.

I’ve used a couple of sets on this card…

2017-02-26 Visible Image - stamps - Cat face stamp - Pauline Butcher

I am totally in love with the Curious Cats set, such a gorgeous face….. anyway,
I decided to make a scene background, using Distress Inks, I blended the ink,
added a couple of trees from the ‘Create It’ set, and used the ends of the whiskers for the grass.

I stamped the two small cats in the foreground, using Black Versafine, then stamped the pussy’s face
and the sentiment with Versamark, and heat embossed using Black Glint Embossing powder by Wow.

I bleached out the eyes and nose, and coloured them with Distress inks.

Lastly I added a bit of contour to the face, using a pencil.

Stamps used:

Visible Image Curious Cats cat face COL X stamp set.jpg

Visible Image Create It face extras COL stamp set

Thank you for your visit.
Hugs, Pauline xxxxx
