Face it… she’s fabulous!

Hi! Thanks for coming to visit our blog. We are having a massive catch up of all the latest Design Team projects,
after neglecting our blog for a few weeks!

There have been so many amazing cards and projects created with our NEW Face it collection,
and Nicky Gilburt is here with a very special canvas she has created with these gorgeous stamps…

Hello and today I am sharing with you my very first ever canvas, created with the Face it and Create It Stamps by Visible Image.

It measures 20 x 20cms and was created in an evening with plenty of stamping, colouring and cutting, and lots of fun!

I simply stamped the features onto the canvas, using a large stamping block behind it, to get a good pressure with my stamp, and coloured from the edge with shades of green distress ink and a blending tool and paintbrush to keep the edges soft.

I added crackles from the fabulous ‘create it’ set, and if you look closely, you’ll see I coloured the eyes in purple,
just to reflect the other-worldliness of the girl. (I also did this on very thin card which I then stuck to the canvas,
so that I could capture the accurate detail of the iris and pupils).

The flowers were simply stamped in Distress ink onto thin card, and then coloured with a waterbrush. I used all three sizes of flower from the Create It set, on some of them, to build up depth a bit more, then finished off the centres with Liquid Pearls.

For the leaves… I simply stamped the flowers in green, and from each flower I snipped out two pairs of leaves and one single, which, by the time they were strategically positioned behind the petals, were unrecognisable as the same thing!
The finishing touch was the butterfly, Visible Image of course, from the ‘Own Kind of Beautiful‘ set from last year.

I am so excited about this project, and even more so that it was featured in the Visible Image Create and Craft TV show
a few weeks ago. I have never seen stamps like this, with which you can construct both human and feline features
(and look out for a mixture of both from my fellow Visible Image design team…!)

Own Kind of Beautiful

Feedback from the release of these sets has been phenomenal, particularly because the crafter can choose the level
of difficulty – she looks as beautiful just stamped onto plain white, or softly coloured paper, as she does all adorned with flowers! So I can’t wait to see lots of interpretations shared in the Visible Image Facebook group.

Happy crafting!
Nicky

The Ripple Effect

Good morning! Or maybe it’s afternoon or evening where you are! Thank you so much for visiting our blog today.

Teresa Morgan is here with some awesome inspiration for you…

Welcome back to today’s Thrilling Thursday post for Visible Image stamps. Today I am sharing the project I created for the January issue of Craft Stamper magazine – a gorgeous canvas!

2017-01-12 Visible Image - ripple effect stamp - canvas - Teresa Morgan

I used a 12 inch square black canvas – if you can’t get a black one, then just paint a white one with black gesso or acrylic paint and allow to dry.I stamped the ripples in a diagonal design across the canvas using Versamark ink so I could emboss with metallic embossing powders. Don’t worry if your stamped images aren’t perfect – canvas is textured and can be tricky to get a clean image. A lot will be covered once the canvas is finished.

I took some black card and stamped and embossed several sets of ripples before cutting the different rings apart with a sharp craft knife. These are attached with Pinflair glue gel to create a dimensional effect.

Finally I stamped and embossed the sentiment on black card, cut apart and attached with glue gel before setting aside to dry.

Cheshire Cat Canvas – Visible Image Stamps

Hi there! We are back with our 2nd post today.

Susanne has been creating amazing things with our Wonderland Cheshire Cat stamp set, and has another brilliant project to share with you today. Over to Susanne…

It’s my day today to share some inspiration with the super unique Visible Image Stamps. I created a little mixed media Canvas with the awesome Chesire Cat. The background is created with the Neocolor II watercolor pastels.

The smiling face is stamped with Memento Lux. I used the Neocolors also for coloring the cat image. I build my palett by scribbling the colors onto an acrylic block. I apply the color with a wet brush.

Don’t Let Your Past Steal Your Future – Visible Image stamps

Good Morning! Hope you are enjoying this week’s inspiration from our awesome Design Team!

It’s Thursday which means it’s Teresa Morgan’s turn to share her latest project with you…

Here we are again for another dose of Thrilling Thursday inspiration – hope you have been enjoying the mini heatwave here in the UK….it’s far too hot for me at the moment but I do like to see a bit of sunshine as it lifts the spirit!!

This week I have decorated a pair of mini framed canvasses using some of the brilliant new word stamps from Visible image.

07-02-2015 Visible Image stamps - Don't Let Your Past Steal Your Future - Mixed Media - Inspirational Quotes - Teresa Morgan

I started by using some modelling paste through a circle mask in the corners to add some texture, then dripped washes of paint down the canvas once the paste was dry. I used some black paint through a chicken wire mask for a bit more detail, then got out my stamps.

I used black embossing powder on the words and circles (from the Universal set), and gold embossing powder on the Woman Inkognito. A bit of gilding wax on the stencilled circles added more shine! The frames are painted to create an antique brass efect which tied in with the ‘distressed industrial’ feel of this piece.

I love how this turned out and the words are perfect for anybody contemplating a new start in life….
