Take Your Broken Wings

Hello there! Helen here with my latest card!

Hope you had a good weekend.

I have been busy creating some backgrounds ready for some of our NEW stamps! Had lots of fun with brushos, Lindy’s sprays and Dylusions paints!

I decided to use some existing stamps on one of them though, as it was calling out to me for our awesome moth stamp…
I used turquoise, yellow and red brushos for this one, and once dry I added some more water
and a touch more paint along the top, allowing it to run down my card

IMG_2264

I stamped and embossed the large moth, and then stamped two
of the small silhouette moths in black versafine

IMG_2275

I also stamped and embossed my chosen quote to make sure it stood out against the background

IMG_2280

I added a glow around parts of the moth using diluted white paint, to make it stand out more
and splattered some of the paint over my card

IMG_2300

Using some of the excess card from my background, I stamped and
embossed another large moth

IMG_2299 (1)

I coloured in the skull using a white pen then layered it on top of my original moth
using some foam pads for some extra dimension

IMG_2311

Lastly I flicked some black Lindy’s spray here and there, then matted onto black card
before adhering to my white card blank

I absolutely love the drama of it! Hope you do too.

I am entering this in the Simon Says Stamp Monday challenge! The theme is spread your wings.

Angels Are Near

Hello! Thank you for coming to visit us here on the Visible Image blog today.

I had a chance to get inky yesterday, and had a lot of fun creating backgrounds using Brushos.

I seem to have used a lot of purple so far this year so decided to get out some reds and yellow to create a
‘red sky at night’ effect for our Angels are Near stamps…

IMG_2158

I sprinkled red first then spritzed with water before adding some yellow and spritzing again.
I love the different random patterns the paint makes.

IMG_2141

I dried it off with my heat tool and then just kept adding more red, then more yellow,
drying again and repeating. I sprinkled extra here and there for a more dramatic effect.

IMG_2143

Once I was happy I chose my favourite part and cut it to size.

I then stamped our gorgeous feathers and the beautiful sentiment using black versafine ink.
Then splattered some diluted white acrylic paint here and there.

IMG_2152

I love how it turned out..

Dreams…

Hello! Thanks for stopping by our blog!

Today’s inspiration comes from me.. Helen! If you missed my post earlier this week you’ll know that I am embarking on my own personal ‘inky journey’ this year. I hadn’t crafted since I was a child, and having only made a few cards and tags over the past 5 years (since meeting Mark), I have much to learn! Writing is my passion, words are my ‘thing’, so I’m really excited to see where this year takes me, now that I have a bit more time to be creative and messy!

I wanted to get the brushos out as I just love the randomness of them.. you never know what your background will look like and it’s so much fun experimenting! I prefer to sprinkle first then spritz with water, and then add more powder in places to get a deeper effect. My card was really wet so that I could hold it up and let the paint run.

brushos-1-helen

I just love the black so had to add some of that!

Once dry I chose my favourite part and cut it to size to fit one of our MDF Monoliths, so that I could create a piece of home decor rather than a card.

brushos-dry-helen

Next was to decide which stamps to use, as I have so many favourites at the moment!!! I decided the background looked quite dreamy so chose this set…

visible-image-no-space-for-dreams-col-stamp-set

I randomly stamped the dotty circle from our Universal set in first and second generation stamping, using Wilted Violet Distress Ink. Then stamped and embossed the gorgeous sentiment and dreamcatcher using stampendous detail black. I distressed all around the edges of my card with black soot.

I then splattered some black and white dylusions paint, and added some colour to the dreamcatcher using distress inks, and last of all added some sparkle with a quickie glue pen and some fine glitter.

visible-image-dreamcatcher-stamp

I had originally painted my Monolith white but I didn’t feel it looked right, so had a last minute change of plan and gave it a coat of gorgeous purple!

2017-01-07-visible-image-stamps-no-space-for-dreams-mdf-monolith-brushos-helen-alexander

I think it turned out quite well! My very first Monolith! What do you think?

While I was waiting for paint to dry I used some of my ‘practice’ brushos background to make a matching card.

background-1

I randomly stamped some more of the awesome background stamps from our Universal set using a few different colours, I think they work perfectly with brushos! I wanted to keep the dreams theme so stamped and embossed one of my favourite Visible Image sentiment stamps in black..

where-dreams

And again randomly splattered some white dylusions paint.

I distressed the edges of the card with black soot to give it more depth, before mounting on my card blank.

I really love how it turned out and how incredibly quick it was to make!

Capture The Moment – Visible Image

Hello and thanks for coming to visit us here on the Visible Image blog today!

Pauline Butcher is here with a very colourful project to inspire you…

Hi there,

I’ve created a tag, for my Visible Image Stamps inspiration this week, using the awesome Capture The Moment stamp set.

visible-image-capture-the-moment-camera-stamp-pauline-butcher

I used Brusho’s for the background, sprinkled and spritzed, and when dry, I stamped and heat embossed the ‘Smile’ sentiment, which comes in the set, with Wow red Embossing powder.

I stamped the sensational ‘Camera’, 5 times, and heat embossed them with Black Embossing Powder, I then fussy cut them, reducing the size each time, to decoupage them. I coloured the red bit in with a Sharpie pen.

The sentiment was stamped and heat embossed with Black Embossing powder, and fussy cut, matt and layered onto red and black card.

I used some acrylic glue around the edges of the tag, and sprinkled some black micro beads, and left to dry, before adding the camera, and the sentiment using 3D glue gel.

Thank you for popping in.
Hugs Pauline xxxx

Wow check out that 3D lens! Amazing! Thank you Pauline ♡

Visible Image stamps – latest inspiration

Hello There! Thank you so much for coming to visit us here on the Visible Image blog today!

We are catching up with all the latest cards and projects from our wonderful team today, the blog has been a little neglected these last few days… first we had our crazy Black Friday SALE which you loved!!! And we are working non stop making lots of gorgeous stamps for our fantastic return to Create & Craft TV on December 12th 🙂 Mark and Pauline have some amazing demos planned… can’t wait!

Ok, are you sitting comfortably and ready to be inspired?

Here’s what the girls have been up to…

Pauline Butcher

I’m back to share some Visible Image inspiration with you. It’s a simple tag, I love tags, because they can be so quick to make, and there’s no pressure, lol !!!!

The stamp set I used is Leave your Fears

I used Brusho’s on the background, sprinkling and spritzing, then holding the tag on it’s side to drip down. I stamped using Versamark ink, and heat embossed with Black EP. The sentiment was heat embossed onto a small piece of card, again after Brusho’s had been dripped down it. The Viscose ribbon ( American Seam Binding) was coloured using Distress Inks. Simple, I hope you’ll give it a go.

See you soon,
Hugs, Pauline xxxxx

Susanne Rose

Hi my dear Visible Image Friends!

I’d like to share a mixed media card today, which is created with the gorgeous
Butterfly INKognito and the Live Life Now stamps from Visible Image.

Visible Image stamps - Butterfly - Live Life Now - Susanne Rose

I primed the background with white gesso first. After this was dry I embossed the butterfly stamp with clear powder. I also stamped part of the stamp in the left upper corner. I added colour with the Marabu Art Sprays. They are based on acrylics and can be removed from the embossed parts with a babywipe. The sentiment is stamped with StazOn.

Other supplies:
Marabu Art Sprays (Chili, Raspberry, Petrol)

I wish you a nice day, Susanne.

Kim Johnny

Hello!

The weather finally feels chilly here, funny since about a week ago it was way above average and so hot!

So continuing with my wondeful Wintery tags for Visible Image, I have “Baby it’s cold outside”, today!

I sort of made my own Wintery set here, I used stamps from three different sets:
all 100% amazing Visible Image, “Baby It’s Cold”“White Christmas” and “Rockin Around”.

Visible Image stamps - Baby It's Cold - Kim Johnny

The background was created using various acrylic paints on my homemade gelatin plate.

Visible Image stamps - Baby It's Cold - Kim Johnny 2

The snowflakes and sentiment were stamped directly onto the tag using Wow Opaque Bright White powder. The “Rockin'” tree was embossed with Wow Metallic Silver Ultra High. The Ultra High makes such an amazing texture, love it! I used a Perfect Medium pen to scribble the icicles and embossed in the same Opaque Bright White.

Visible Image stamps - Baby It's Cold - Tag - Kim Johnny

To add more depth and “chill” I randomly added some UTEE clear all over the tag.

I am freezing now, yikes! Time for some hot chocolate, yum 🙂

Keep warm & cool where ever you may be!

Kim Bacon

Oh I love working with these Visible Image stamps! This flower from the INKognito range is just amazing.

Visible Image stamps - Imperfection is Beauty - Inky Flower stamp - Kim Bacon

The background is from remnants for a BIGGER Visible Image project which I am keeping under wraps for the moment. I first coloured some white card with Brusho paints and then applied a very dry layer of white gesso. For half of the card I then stamped the circles from the universal set and coloured some of them in with red Brusho. Another dry brushing with gesso before stamping and embossing in black with the sentiment and the flower. Each piece was then machine sewn onto black card.

I go for green today! I love the beauty of a clean card. The background is made with 4 different green distress inks. Then the mask and sentiment are stamped on top with black ink pad. To frame it I draw a line with a black thin marker. And yes – I used a ruler!

ROCK OUT – Visible Image stamps

Good Afternoon! We are back with our 3rd inspirational post today… wowza! We hope you have been suitably inspired  ❤

Our final post for today comes from Pauline Butcher who, as always, is injecting some colour into Friday!!!

Helloooo,

I hope you are all well, just a quickie today, a card I made for one of my recent workshops, I do love passing on techniques.

The unique stamps I’ve used, are designed and made by hand,
by Mark and Helen at Visible Imagethey both work very hard, and are very passionate about their company and their fabulous stamps.

2015-10-29-Visible-Image-stamps- You Rock - Pauline Butcher

I used Brusho’s for the background, along with spray starch and cling film, such a cool vibrant outcome!
I stamped the sentiment with Versamark, mixing 2 colours of sparkle Embossing powder, before heating to set.

The Image is made using Angelina Fibres, placed on top of the stamp which has Versamark on, then ironed, such a fab technique, and finally fussy cut.

I used Brushos as usual for my colouring medium and brought everything together with gold embossing powder.

The poinsettia leaves already have a script pattern on them which goes really well with the script stamp from the Revolution set.

Music and Colour – Visible Image stamps

Hi There! Wow we are on a roll today 🙂 So much awesome inspiration from the team!

Here’s Karen Liddle with her very first DT creation…

Today is my first day to show you a card made using fab Visible Image stamps, as part of the lovely design team.  I’m thrilled to bits to have been chosen to join them, from the many great applications they’ll have got.  So here we go…….

Visible Image stamps - Silhoouetter Trumpet player - Music stamp - Karen Liddle

For the background I used Brushos in just 2 colours, then while it was still wet, I used a spritzer to blow the ink around, I love this effect.  I then stamped the image and sentiment in black Versafine and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  All the other stamping was done with various Distress Inks.

The stamps I used are –

Play It Loud
Soul Music

Karen

Awesome card! Love the effects you’ve created with the Brushos. Thanks Karen 🙂   You will find more of Karen’s fabulous work over on her blog.

We’ll be back shortly with Kim Bacon’s regular ‘Marvellous Monday’ post. Kim has an absolutely gorgeous card to share with you today!
