Music Soothes The Soul

Hello! Thank you for coming to check out today’s post.

Elina Strömberg is here with some awesome music themed inspiration…

Hi!
Artist trading cards (ATC) provide the perfect size for a miniature collage. One could think that creating a small ATC would take much less time than making a standard sized card, but often that’s not the case for me. When there isn’t too much space to play around I tend to spend more time on the card design and on selecting just the right elements for my project; the card must not get too busy but then again it should not be too simplified, empty nor boring.

When I have collected the elements for my collage project I may realize that I’m not able fit all the planned fun things on a single ATC. The solution is to create a series of ATC’s, in which the cards are connected to the ATC set by a common theme, technique and/or colour palette.

When creating these musical ATC’s I first stamped and heat embossed the B&W main images. The images were too big to fit on one or even two cards so I made three backgrounds with Distress paints. I decorated the backgrounds with white acrylic paint dots and stamped music patterns, and before gluing down the main images I attached the colourful backgrounds on white ATC card bases (size 2,5″x3,5″).

I really like my ATC trio! The cards are similar but yet unique 🙂

Feel The Beat

Hi there! Thank you for stopping by today!

We are really excited to be sharing preview #9 from our February NEW stamps release a little later!

But before that, Pauline Butcher is here with some amazing music themed inspiration for you…

Hello again,

It’s Fabulous Friday, and I’m here to share a creation I’ve made, using some fantastic Visible Image Stamps.

2017-01-20 Visible Image - music stamps - Pauline Butcher

I started with some white Water colour card, and sprinkled various colours of Brusho’s randomly on to it, then spritzed with water ( the more water you add, the more the colours will run into each other, and the paler they become). I dried it with my heat tool, (Brusho’s become permanent when dry) I then repeated the application.

When it was dry, I stamped the two figures in the foreground, using Versamark, and heat embossed them using Black Glint Embossing powder. I then made masks out of a couple of post-it notes, and covered the figures, so’s I could stamp the Drummer behind them, he was heat embossed using Black powder.

Whilst the masks were still in place, I put a stencil on top, and added some Diamond Sparkle Medium through it, using a palette knife, this looks like laser lights on the stage.

Using some silver paint and a white pen, I added all the highlights to the ‘Band’, to give them some perspective. The sentiment was added using Versamark and some Red Glitter Embossing Powder.

To finish off, I ‘grounded’ the Band, using some red Distress Ink, stamped some little stars in Black Versafine, and then added Stardust Stickles wherever I fancied !!!

The stamps I used are..

Thanks for dropping in.
Hugs, Pauline xxxxx

Jazz Tags

Hello there! We have some awesome inspiration for you today from Elina Strömberg…

Hi!

Last week Helen and Mark, the lovely and super talented couple behind Visible Image revealed the design team for year 2017. I’m so happy and proud to be part of this hearfelt team, and I know already now that our new year will be AMAZING!

There are so many gorgeous goodies coming up, so I suggest you sign up to Visible Image Newsletter to make sure you don’t miss any news, special offers and new releases. You can also follow Visible Image on Facebook, instagramPinterest and Twitter!

This week I wanted to show you two colourful tags I made using stamps from ‘Jazz It Up’ and ‘Rays Of Light’ sets. The background is a simple size 8 manila tag, coloured with yellow, blue and green Brushos. Brushos are very intense paint powders that produce brilliant vibrant colours when mixed with water. This time I did not sprinkle the powder directly on wet paper, but first misted by crafting mat with water, sprinkled brushos on the water drops, and picked up the colour with a dry tag. The nice thing about Brushos is that like watercolours they are pretty unpredictable, so you cannot fully control the flow of colours. That’s what makes the creative process so much fun!

2017-01-11-visible-image-jazz-it-up-tags-brushos-elina-stromberg

The Brusho colours did not cover my backgrounds completely, so once completely dry I inked the tags with yellow Distress ink. Then I used a green ink to stamp random circles on the bottom of the tag, and heat-embossed the trumpet player on the tag using black embossing powder.

Black splatters are made with thick embossing powder I just sprinkled on the tag. For attaching the loose powder I heated the tag from underneath.

Yellow and turquoise seed beads are simply glued down on the tag, and white splatters are made with acrylic paint.

I love the contrast between the black image and the colourful background. When using bright colours I always like to add both white and black to the project; they really make the bright colours pop!

Rock Stars – Visible Image

Hello! Teresa Morgan has an awesome card to share with you…

This week I have a cool card for all you music fans out there!

I have used some of the fantastic new accessory stamps in the Rock Out set from Visible Image.

visible-image-stamps-rock-out-guitarist-stamp-teresa-morgan

I used shades of blue, green and purple Distress Inks blended together for the background. The guitars are stamped with Archival ink and highlighted with Glossy Accents.

Rock Out - Visible Image Stamps

The large stars are stamped with the same Distress Inks randomly across the base. Once dry the border stamp is stamped with Versamark Ink and embossed with Silver Pearl embossing powder. I then swiped the Versamark pad along the edges and embossed with Silver Tinsel embossing powder.

Rock Out - Visible Image Stamps

The Rock Out stamp is also embossed with Silver Tinsel embossing powder, cut into a banner shape and mounted on 3d foam. I used some Black Distress Ink just inside the star border to add some depth and create a 3d effect.

Jazz It Up – Visible Image stamps

Good Evening! Hope Monday is being gentle with you!!!

We are kicking off this week’s inspiration with something funky from Kim Bacon…

Hello!

Today I have a jazzy little card for you using a fantastic silhouette of a sax player, as well as some of the brilliantly versatile background stamps.

Visible Image stamps - Jazz It Up - Kim Bacon

As is usual for me I started colouring some white card with Brusho paints. I just love the zesty lime alongside the hot orange.

I used bleach – yep, bleach – with the plasma squiggle from the Universal set.

Visible Image stamps are made with top quality photopolymer and I haven’t yet had any problem using bleach on them. I do still err on the side of caution and wipe my stamps straight away with a baby wipe and then after the crafting session I wash them in warm water before air drying and storing back in their pockets.

Anyway, squiggles done, I then used a blended ink pad in shades of green with the spotty plasma circle from the Universal set directly over the top.

Using black embossing powder I stamped the jazz player and the sentiment onto pieces of card that would contrast well when added to the background card.

Here are the stamp sets I used for this card…

See you next week for another Marvellous Monday and in the meantime enjoy your week, get crafty and show us what you have been up to!

Happy Days!  Kim

Awesome card thank you Kim! Loving those colours.. so funky! 🙂

We will be back soon with a rather special NEW stamps preview.

Feel The Beat @ Visible Image

It’s Thursday which can only mean one thing! Teresa Morgan is here to inspire you…

Hello and welcome back to my Thrilling Thursday inspiration post for Visible Image Stamps. We are all excited about the upcoming new releases scheduled for February and can’t wait to share them with you all. Meanwhile, here is another bright and funky card featuring one of last year’s brilliant music stamps…

Visible Image stamps - Feel The Beat - Drummer Stamp - Teresa Morgan

The simple yet effective background is created with Distress Inks, simply blended against the edge of a scrap of card randomly over the cardstock. It creates an illusion of stage spotlights and adds movement to the design. The edge design was created by stamping and embossing part of the swirl stamp (Universal set) in different colours of fluorescent WOW powders. I stamped the drummer and the circles with black Archival ink, then finished with the words (embossed in white on black card) popped up on 3d foam.

Thanks for stopping by again, I hope you are inspired to make a purchase or try one of today’s techniques.

Visible Image Debut – Dot Leathbridge

Hello 🙂 Thank you for coming to visit us here on the Visible Image blog today!

We are very excited to be sharing the very first Design Team project by Dot Leathbridge today…

It’s been an exciting time waiting for my first make as part of the Visible Image DT.  It is great to get the first one done!

There is so much buzz among the team at the moment because there are heaps of new stamps to be released next month – and they look amazing!!! Sneak peaks are appearing on the Facebook group, there is a launch on Create and Craft TV (in Feb) and at the UK Trade Show (also in Feb)…so lots to watch out for!

Today I wanted to do something with a little pazzazz – so I decided on a blast of music!

Visible Image stamps - Jazz It Up - Silhouette Sax & trumpet player stamps - Dot Leithbridge

These stamps were so much fun to play with!

There are more music themed ones in the collection, but I love music festivals and live bands so wanted to make a kind of raw, back to basics jazz/blues card.

I cut out a circle die and placed it in the center of the card, then inked up the background with some bright distress inks.

The white bubbles are made through a stencil with acrylic paint.

Then I thought I would flick some red Brusho (mixed with water) onto the card for some extra colour – and it splattered onto the white section…so I added some carefully placed red circles (through a stencil) to cover it up…
remember… there is no such thing as a mistake – just a new opportunity!

I stamped the silhouettes, added some partial stamping of the music notes, and from the flourish stamp (around the edge), and the words to finish off.

When I made this card we all heard of the passing of David Bowie, so when I look at this card I think of the song “Dancing In The Street”…if you wanted to have a go at making this, you could quite easily journal the words to that song around the edge and I think it would look awesome.

The stamps used were:

There’s inspiration almost every day on the Visible Image blog as well as sharing of ideas and inspiration over on the Facebook page.

Enjoy!

Wow! Amazing card Dot thank you ♡

We will be back later with today’s NEW stamps preview!

Rock Out @ Visible Image

Good Morning! Today we have some fantastic inspiration for you here on the blog!

First up today is Teresa with an awesome card for anyone who loves a bit of rock…

Hello and welcome to another inspirational post from me for Visible Image stamps. Let’s shake off the winter blues and get funky with some bright colours…

Visible Image stamps - Rock Out - Guitarist stamp - Ink splats - Teresa Morgan

I stamped the Ink Splats randomly around the edge of my base layer using some gorgeous Distress Inks (Picked Raspberry, Twisted Citron, Peacock Feathers and Mustard Seed).

The guitarist is stamped and embossed in Fluorescent Blue WOW powder over a background created with shaving foam and Dylusions spray inks.

I embossed the sentiment in white then matted onto an offcut of ‘shaving foam’ card to finish.

I hope that I have brightened your day with my card – thanks for looking, please come back again next week for more fun!!

All That Jazz @ Visible Image

Good afternoon! We are back with more fantastic inspiration for you here on the Visible Image blog today.

Over to Lisa Nygards for her latest card…

This is a fun technique to do, even if it shows up best in real life, not in photo.

I inked up a piece of paper with yellow and orange tones of distress ink. Swirl and blend them together a bit with blending tool (no inkpad direct on paper). Then I put some white mica-powder on top of it with a brush.

I embossed the paper with an embossing folder so it got a 3D look. Then I used this piece on my card as a background to the lovely stamps from the Jazz it Up set.

This technique is called faux metallic and you’ll find a great video of it (where I’ve learned this) at Jennifer McGuire.

Planner, Tag and a little bit of Jazz @ Visible Image

Good Evening, hope you have had a decent start to the new week. We don’t tend to see daylight much here in the UK at this time of year.. dark going to work and dark coming home! So we are here to brighten up the dark rainy evening with some gorgeous Visible Image stamps inspiration 🙂

Here are some of the latest projects from our wonderful team…

Susanne Rose

Hi my dear Planner Fans!

It’s my day today to share some inspiration with the super unique Visible Image Stamps.
I’d like to share today how I pimped my daily planner with stamps from Visible Image together with the DCWV 12″ x 12″ Silver Lining Stack:

When you cover a book with another paper it’s important that you only glue down the front and the back NOT the spine! I embossed all my images with silver powder.

The first inner page, which is normally white, was also pimped a little.

Hi dear friends!

Thanks so much for coming by today. A small post gearing up for the Holidays!

I had a small play making another Christmas tag, using my White Christmas Visible Image stamp set.

2015-11-12 Visible Image stamps - White Christmas - snowflakes - Kim Johnny

I am really enjoying the vintage feel Holiday color scheme, the opposite of the bright colors I usually play with, hope you like it!

All images are stamped and heat embossed, I love embossing for shine and texture. The white is Wow Opaque Bright White, a fellow Visible Image teamie told me about this amazing powder. Love that it stays white on the dark background! Thanks Teresa 🙂

Have a wonderful day.

Hugs and well wishes,
~kim

Kim Bacon

My DT piece for today features one of my favourite, and unusual stamps from Visible Image.

Back in February 2015 the guys at Visible Image came up with yet another brilliant set of stamps with a music theme.

I can’t remember seeing any stamps like this before, and when they were launched they sold like hot cakes!

It’s nice to revisit old favourites and I hope you are inspired by this card.

2015-11-16 Visible Image stamps - Jazz It Up - Saxophonist stamp - Kim Bacon

First I painted a red and orange background using Brushos and then used some bleach to add the stars.

I used black embossing powder for the main image, the sentiment and one of the stars.

Some mounting and layering and a little bit of wet brush work to add a shadow and the job was done!

Our final post for today comes from Pauline Butcher who, as always, is injecting some colour into Friday!!!

Helloooo,

I hope you are all well, just a quickie today, a card I made for one of my recent workshops, I do love passing on techniques.

The unique stamps I’ve used, are designed and made by hand,
by Mark and Helen at Visible Imagethey both work very hard, and are very passionate about their company and their fabulous stamps.

2015-10-29-Visible-Image-stamps- You Rock - Pauline Butcher

I used Brusho’s for the background, along with spray starch and cling film, such a cool vibrant outcome!
I stamped the sentiment with Versamark, mixing 2 colours of sparkle Embossing powder, before heating to set.

The Image is made using Angelina Fibres, placed on top of the stamp which has Versamark on, then ironed, such a fab technique, and finally fussy cut.

If you are going to the NEC next week, do pop along to the Visible Image Stand, B09 where you meet Helen and Mark, see some of the stunning stamps available, also see loads of inspirational DT work, and you will also see me, I am doing ‘Make & Takes’, but get in early to book your place as they are limited.

Music and Colour – Visible Image stamps

Hi There! Wow we are on a roll today 🙂 So much awesome inspiration from the team!

Here’s Karen Liddle with her very first DT creation…

Today is my first day to show you a card made using fab Visible Image stamps, as part of the lovely design team.  I’m thrilled to bits to have been chosen to join them, from the many great applications they’ll have got.  So here we go…….

Visible Image stamps - Silhoouetter Trumpet player - Music stamp - Karen Liddle

For the background I used Brushos in just 2 colours, then while it was still wet, I used a spritzer to blow the ink around, I love this effect.  I then stamped the image and sentiment in black Versafine and heat embossed with clear embossing powder.  All the other stamping was done with various Distress Inks.

The stamps I used are –

Play It Loud
Soul Music

Karen

Awesome card! Love the effects you’ve created with the Brushos. Thanks Karen 🙂   You will find more of Karen’s fabulous work over on her blog.

We’ll be back shortly with Kim Bacon’s regular ‘Marvellous Monday’ post. Kim has an absolutely gorgeous card to share with you today!
