Born To Perform

Hello and thanks for coming to visit us here on the Visible Image blog today.

Pauline Butcher is here with an incredible canvas that we proudly showcased on our Create and Craft TV show last month!

Hi again,

I’m back sharing a project I’ve made, using some fantastic Visible Image Stamps.

The stamp set I used on this canvas was…

Born to Perform

Such a stunning set of stamps to play with.

I found some bits of lace, and other stuff, glued them to the canvas, then got out my Ink sprays
and Dyna Acrylic paints, and played at being Picasso, lol !!!!

I used a Mirror image stamping technique, to add the Ballet dancers.

As you can see from the tutu’s, I used plenty of glitter and seed beads, to give them lots of dimension,
and I added gold Stickles to all the stamped stars.

The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of white card, and fussy cut.

Thanks for visiting, hugs, Pauline xxxx

The detail on this is stunning! And wow those tutus ♡ Thank you Pauline it’s amazing!

Born To Perform

Hi there! We have so much fabulous inspiration coming your way here on the blog today.

Our Born To Perform set has been incredibly popular and our Design Team are loving it too!

Teresa Morgan is here on the blog today with a gorgeous card she has created with this stamp set…

Thanks so much to you all for the amazing response you have given to all of us at Visible Image over the past month –
Helen and Mark have put together an amazing collection of stamps to mix and match with the existing range,
and the team has been bursting with inspiration. We also would love to say a big hello and thank you to all the new
Facebook group members who have been proudly sharing their awesome projects with everybody – we all love to see what you are making!!!

Anyway, on to my project for this week – I have been playing with the fabulous Born to Perform set and my Brushos!!

I used Versamark ink and white embossing powder to stamp the words across the background. This acted as a resist
for the Brushos which I sprinkled lightly over the card then spritzed with water to release the colour.

Can you guess which colours I used??? Surprisingly only two – black and gamboge.
I love the rainbow effect these created as the colours split and blended!

The ballerina is stamped and embossed onto heat resistant acetate and attached with Pinflair Glue gel
so that she is ‘floating’ over the background. I added a few black iridescent gems to her tutu to add some
dimension and a subtle touch of bling. I finished by adding a shadow to the words using a fineliner pen.

I know a lot of you own Brushos – why not have a play with them this week along with your new stamps
and share in the Facebook group – we can’t wait to see what you create.

Born To Perform

Hello there! Wow wow wow… we are totally blown away by the number of orders we have received for our NEW stamps already, and they only went on pre-order late on Friday evening! Thank you so much to everyone who has ordered so far, we cannot even begin to describe how amazing it feels that you love our designs so much! ♡ ♡ ♡

As promised, we will have loads of fabulous inspiration for you over the next few weeks. Just when you think your Design Team cannot possibly get any better…!

Nicky has been really busy and has very inky fingers this weekend. We adore what she is about to share with you today…

Oh. My. Goodness.

When something comes along that just takes your breath away…

This image of the ballerina from the Born To Perform set of stamps by Visible Image, is truly the most beautiful image of a dancer I have ever seen. I have sought an image like this, and then Mark delivered, without even knowing how high up on my wishlist this was!

With the brand new February 2017 release of some ground breaking new stamps, this set, Born to Perform, delivers style and potential in bucket-fulls. I chose to keep my first card simple,to showcase the beautiful ballerina, so here it is…

2017-01-29 Visible Image - ballerina stamp - born to perform - Nicky Gilburt 2

If you know anything of my style, you will understand (and sympathize) how hard it was for me to achieve this effect. I needed to keep the white space but my, it was a challenge that I enjoyed!

To get the background effect I took three of the new Nuvo Aqua flow pens, in Aqua Splash, Indigo Dawn, and Spiced Ginger. One by one I dropped liquid from each pen onto a large acrylic block and pressed it onto watercolour card, drying with a heat gun between each press.

Two colours:

Preparing to add third colour:

Drying:

If you don’t dry between colours, they can merge and go murky. It’s a slow process but SO worth it to get the optimum result! And you can add more colour if you feel it needs it.

I then stamped the dancer in purple pigment ink, which remained wet long enough to be able to add glitter purple embossing powder, and which I then heated with my heat tool.

You can see here that I then got a little splatty, mixing a couple of drops of ink with water, in my palette, and flicking the brush over the watercolour card. Again, dry with a heatgun if you can. I also dotted around my image with an embossing pen and sprinkled the purple glitter powder over it, just to match the splash of the tutu!

The final touches were to add the key words, and then some super tiny gems in toned colours. I hope they add a little movement and flow to the project.
