Live Life Now

Hi there! We have some gorgeous new inspiration to share with you today here on the blog.

Here’s Nicky Gilburt with all the details…

Hello, and happy weekend! For my Visible Image blog post today I thought I would revisit a favourite of mine, but with a new twist… This Live Life Now set has the most enchanting inky butterfly, and it also now has a cluster of tiny ones to compliment the design. So I set myself a challenge of making them work together – hardly a challenge really – they were made for each other!

I wanted to do a simple piece of work this time, or at least, one that looked simple! It is sometimes hard for me to keep a light touch. Here on the Design Team, we all have our own styles, and we embrace our differences, and together showcase a huge range of styles of work. But all of us seek to learn, to add new twists, and to sometimes take ourselves out of our comfort zones. My fear is….white space. Seriously! Where others can make clean and simple cards, with delicate brushstrokes or touches, I seek out colour, depth, vibrancy. I LOVE pastels and pale but I need a stop sign in my head if I am to achieve the kind of results I desire without laying the colour down too thick!

So I tried! With the help of:

Visible Image Live Life Now stamps

And…

  • Tim Holtz Distress Crayons Set 5 (Pastels)
  • a delicate diamond patterned stencil
  • Nuvo Clear Mark ink pad
  • Silver glitter embossing powder
  • Broken China Distress Oxide
  • Clear embossing powder
  • Baby wipes
  • a water spritzer
  • Mixed Media cardstock

To make my background I lightly spritzed the card and scribbled bursts of pastel colour around, but I didn’t go right up to the edge. I then laid the stencil over and, with a baby wipe, wiped all the colour off. This left the lovely soft harlequin pattern, which I then left to dry.

Once dry, I stamped my feature butterfly in clear embossing ink and added silver glitter powder. I did the same for the tiny butterflies and heat set everything.

For the sentiment, I stamped in Distress Oxide, but as it looked a bit damp, I sealed it with clear embossing powder, a great technique for keeping your inking where you want it to be! It also adds a beautiful glossy sheen to your work.

To finish, I matted and layered the piece onto a top folding A5 card. I don’t often ‘go big’ with Visible Image pieces, but I think that in order to show the space, and imply movement, you have to allow for space. And that is how the white on this card managed to remain white!

Happy crafting!

Nicky x

Bold Cats

Hello! We are back with some fabulous inspiration from Pauline Butcher today, as promised…

Hi there friends,

It’s Fabulous Friday, so you know what that means, yep, another creation using some fantastic Visible Image Stamps.

I wanted to use the small cats, and the paw print from the ‘Curious Cats‘ set, and there is also a small Cat in the ‘Create it‘ set too.

I stamped them all using a Kaleidocolor ink pad, then spritzed with water, to get them to run.

I then stamped the sentiment ‘Bold Colour‘ onto another piece of card, and heat embossed it using bright Orange Embossing Powder.

Stamps Used:

Thank for your visit.

Life Can Be Tough My Darling…

Hi there! We are back with more gorgeous inspiration for you.

Pauline is here to share a fabulous new card featuring one of our incredibly popular designs… yes you guessed it, our Curious Cat!

Hi my lovely friends,

It’s Fabulous Friday once again, so time for me to share one of my creations, made with the help of some fantastic Visible Image Stamps.

This week it’s the turn of that gorgeous Puddy Cat…

Curious Cats

with some flowers from the very useful Create It set

and the sentiment is Life can be Tough

I used acrylic paints for the background, when it was dry I stamped the cat’s face, whiskers, and the sentiment with Versamark and heat embossed them using black embossing powder.

I stamped the flowers onto a seperate piece of card using back Versafine ink, coloured them with Distress inks, and fussy cut them.

I coloured the cat’s eyes, and used Glossy Accents to give them a fab shine, then coloured it’s cute little nose.

I added the flowers with a 3D glue gel, and added some stickles.

Thanks once again for popping in, please leave me a comment if you can.

Hugs Pauline xxxx

This is such a gorgeous card and I’m sure anyone receiving it would smile a little smile, whatever challenge they are facing ♡

This sentiment is a must have.. when you don’t have the right words these might be just what you need.

Stunning card, thank you Pauline ♡

First I created my background using Distress Oxide Inks, blended and spritzed with water.

I added detail using stamps from The Ripple Effect

The sentiment was then stamped with Versamark and embossed with Gold embossing powder.

Hope you enjoyed this project, and are inspired to dig out some of your older stamps and play!!

Colour Outside The Lines

Hello! We have had a really busy week here at Visible Image… lots of planning and designing going on!!!
More on that soon 😉

Meantime, Dot Leathbridge is here with some fabulous inspiration this evening…

Outside The Lines is one of the latest sentiment stamps from Visible Image…

For the background on this card I’ve had fun with green and red distress inks. Normally these colours go muddy when they are combined … I was lucky this time!

Some background stamping, a little embossing and some doodling completed the look that I was after.

To finish, the words from the sentiment ‘Outside The Lines’ was kept very plain. This is to give a greater contrast to the background.

Stamps used:

Imagine Dream Inspire

Feel The Beat

Love it Dot.. thank you ♡

Young Mind Wild Heart

Hi! We are here with some fantastic inspiration from Corrie Herriman today…

Hello everyone,
and welcome to my blogpost for Visible Image where today I am showcasing one of the sentiment stamps…

Visible Image have great word stamps and this is one of my favourites…
I have paired the words with some Tim Holtz paper dolls, a piece of pattern paper with text on it and some PaperArtsy Fresco Paints.

I started with a piece of pattern paper which has all these advertisements printed on it.

I glued it onto some white card stock as it was quite thin. I then used a brayer and some acrylic paints to knock the text back a little.

Next I chose the people I wanted to use and decided where to stamp and place them.  I then stamped the sentiments.
This is one stamp; I just used masking tape to selectively stamp the words.

Next I placed the people and glued them down and added some ‘ground’ under them so they were not floating.
Lastly I splattered some black paint on the page.

I used this stamp:

Thank you for stopping by today!

Broken Wings

Hello! Thank you for coming to check out the latest inspiration here on our blog.

Veerle has created some beautiful inspiration for this month’s themed challenge over in our Facebook group…

This month’s theme is:

So I had to pick out one of the sentiments/words… that’s a tough choice as I love the words so much.
But I went for the one that definitely has a very special meaning for me…

Learn To Fly Again

I love every stamp in the set but it’s the words that are just… well this one still stands on my dresser as a little reminder…

Curious what I made this time? I’ve made a new video so you can see how it was made.

Incredibly beautiful project Veerle thank you  ♡

What Matters

Hi there! We are back with more gorgeous inspiration here on the blog today as we share the latest Design Team projects with you.

Nicky Gilburt has gone all cosmic on us..

Today I am sharing some beautiful words from Visible Image. An older stamp, this one was released first in 2015 but that matters not, the words are beautifully expressed and I’ve mixed them with something very new to create this card…

The stamps I’ve used on this card are:What Really Matters

and a couple of the elements from Believe in Unicorns

Firstly I built up a background on Daler Rowney Mixed Media card with Brushos, using blues, purple,
a hint of emerald  green and yellow, spritzing with water. Once dry I thinned out a little white acrylic paint
and flicked splatters all over my cardstock to achieve that ‘galaxy’ effect.

I allowed time for drying again and that’s when I started playing with my little stamps from the Believe in Unicorns set. The moon was a perfect choice, and the little starbursts just finished everything off.
I love stamping and embossing in white. I tried out a new powder for this project, Nuvo Glacier White, and it gave me a perfect finish.

All that remained was to mount the sentiment onto the base card. For the first time in ages I stayed away from square, so I dug out my Sue Wilson Noble Collection – Essential sized Rectangles, and cut an A6 shape for the base and a smaller one for the words, which I mounted on a foam sheet for a smooth finished effect

If you love Visible Image as much as I do, stop by their Facebook group and join in this month’s challenge
‘Express Yourself’ where you can enter a card or project using any of the many quotes that they have made so beautifully into stamps!

Nicky

Really loving the cosmic/galaxy background with this quote.. a match made in heaven! Thanks Nicky ♡

Stay Strong

Hi there! As promised we are back with more stunning inspiration this evening.

Over to Teresa Morgan…

This week I’m sharing another card that focusses on one of Visible Image’s sentiment stamps. I love this stamp, perfect for so many situations.

My background was created using Distress Oxide inks (everybody’s new favourite toy). I then stamped the script stamp randomly all over.

I die cut a circle from another piece of cardstock and coloured with Distress Oxides to match. I then stamped the sentiment with Versamark and embossed with Eggplant WOW Powder.

This month sees the start of our new monthly themed challenges in the Facebook group (link below).

Our theme for May is Express Yourself – Use Words as the Focus of your Project.

Create With Your Soul

Hello there! Thanks for coming to visit our blog today!

It’s Helen here today sharing a card I made as inspiration for this month’s challenge over in our Facebook group.

The theme this month is ‘Express Yourself’… creating a card, tag, mixed media project or journal page which has words as the focal point!

Here is my card..

I chose a favourite stamp, some zesty colours, and started to build my background…

I sprinkled some yellow and orange brushos then spritzed with water, adding more powder here and there for intensity

I randomly stamped the awesome inky script from our ‘Scripted Streets’ set using distress inks in the same colours

Next I stamped some of the brilliant circles from our ‘Universal’ set in lime green, then splattered some diluted white paint.

I embossed the quote using fluorescent orange, and highlighted the 3 main words with a black micron pen

I stamped and cut out some of the flowers from our ‘Create it’ set and coloured them with inks and paint splatters,
adhered them to my card with glue gel before adding a blob of paint to the centres!

It was a lovely sunny day so I sat my card on the patio outside our studio!

Stamps Used:

Get Up and Dress Up!

Hi there! It’s a new week and a whole new month of inspiration to look forward to here on the Visible Image blog!

Jane Tyrrell is here with some inspiration for our brand new challenge…

Hello,

It’s the first of May and it also happens to fall on a Monday. This means that it is also time for me to share my newest Design Team inspiration for Visible Image.

I am also excited about the brand new themed monthly Visible Image challenge starting over on Facebook.  You don’t even need to blog to be able to enter it. You just upload you photo into the album set up for May. Simples! You can also win a £40 coupon (wow) to spend on their website if you are the randomly chosen winner at the end of the month.

I love entering challenges and I also find them great for kick starting my inspiration so I am delighted that Helen has introduced this. For our first challenge the theme is ” Express Yourself”. We need to see you using your Visible Image words or quote stamps as the focal on your project. You can make anything at all; cards, tags, 3D objects etc, just make sure that the only stamps that you use are Visible Image. You can enter as many times as you like!

It would be lovely to see you over in the Facebook group if you haven’t joined yet.

This challenge is open to everyone, world wide!

Here is my “Express yourself” card.

I used the brilliant Never Give Up stamp

The background stamps are from the Visometry set.

I love these stamps, they remind me of my childhood days I spent playing and creating with my Spirograph set.

I white embossed my Visometry stamps and then black embossed the words

I wanted a really bright zingy effect so I chose these Distress ink colours to work with

and added colour to the background using the wrinkle free technique. You really need your sun glasses on for this one 😎. I waved to it on the recent Create and Craft TV show. There is more exciting news coming soon about that too……….😉

Here is a close up of the quote;

and I also decorated the inside with more Visometry stamps

Thanks for stopping by, have an amazing bank holiday weekend and I really hope you get some time to get inky.
As it’s raining here my studio is calling me….😉

Back soon.
Bye for now,

Jane x

Thank you for brightening up the day with your fabulous card Jane! Gorgeous background.. just love our Visometry stamps embossed in white! ♡

What a show!

Hello!

Today we are sharing some of the photos from our Create and Craft TV show last weekend…
and we must say another massive THANK YOU to our incredible Design team for all their stunning samples ♡ ♡ ♡

We loved being part of Create and Craft’s 14th Birthday event and wow what an incredible hour it was!!!

Mark had to keep changing his demos and making them shorter and snappier due to items selling so quickly…

You may remember back in March our Face it collection sold out in 26 minutes.. well this time they sold out in even less than that!!!

We love that you are loving these stamps… thank you ♡

Our Curious Cats set flew out just as fast too!

Meow!

Here are some of the cards Mark created on the show featuring some of our awesome quotes and sentiment stamps…

Mark embossed the Outside The Lines quote then covered with Pebeo drawing gum, a masking fluid. Once dry,
the background was created with Brushos. Mark then stamped the circles from our Universal set in a few colours and then distressed the edges of the card with black soot distress ink to make the colours stand out even more.

After flicking some ink to add even more interest to the background, Mark then rubbed off the masking fluid to reveal the crisp clean quote!

Such a great card ♡

Stamps Used:

The background on this next card was created with Distress Inks..

Mark stamped the Creativity quote using black Versfine ink, once the background was dry.

He then stamped and embossed the large spirograph stamp from our Visometry set twice onto a spare piece of the same background card, and cut them out using a craft knife, cutting one in half.

A torn strip of black card was used to mount the shapes for a super cool look! Gorgeous!

Stamps Used:

The next card features the closed eyes from our Face it set, and our stunning Stay Strong stamp..

Mark embossed the quote in white, and then smooshed the card into some pink Lindy’s spray
for a stunning effect.

The closed eyes were stamped with Versafine black ink and the card was mounted onto a piece of
card that had also been sprayed with Lindy’s before being added to a black mat and adhered to card blank.

Gorgeous and perfect for anyone facing a tough time ♡

Bold & Beautiful

Hello! We are back with more stunning inspiration for you this afternoon here on the blog!

Next up is Dot Leathbridge with a really beautiful card…

Bold and Beautiful  is one of the sayings from the ‘Own It’ set which was released earlier this year.

For this card I’ve teamed it up with the ‘Create It’ set.

I love how the flowers look like they are facing the sky.

These stamp sets can be put together in so many creative ways.

Some doodling has been added to an inky background for a slightly different look and
the flowers have simply been cut out and added in.

I then stamped the planes and the sentiments using black Versafine, added some Picked Raspberry to the planes, then used water and a paintbrush to add the highlights, and finished off with the pen dashes. And, no glitter, hahahaha !!!!!

Teresa Morgan is up first…

You may remember my YouTube video a while back, using stamps with my Gelli plate to create fun backgrounds.

Well, this week I have teamed one of them with some brilliant word stamps from Visible Image:

I used DecoArt Media Fluid acrylics for the print, then stamped the words with Versamark ink
and embossed with black and white WOW Powders.

Visible Image stamps - Gelli print

I added some white highlights to the ‘Create Yourself’ with a gel pen.

I love the slightly grungy feel to this card and the fact that it is totally unique – I could never repeat the background exactly.

Free Soul

Hello! Thanks for visiting our blog today. We have lots of fabulous inspiration coming your way on this sunny Bank Holiday Monday!

Next up is Dot Leathbridge…

This week I’ve done something a little different for Visible Image.

Combining the ‘Free Soul’ stamp with an image transfer background.

The rustic finish to the image transfer really appeals to me with this one.
No – it’s not a picture of me (you thought it was me didn’t you lol)
It’s a random one from a magazine!

Then the words are stamped to give a crisp contrast to the background.
The drips on the edges are also stamped to help frame it.

Explore Discover Journey

Hi there! We hope you have had a great Easter weekend! We are back with lots of gorgeous inspiration here on the blog today.

We are kicking off with the latest project by Corrie Herriman…

Hello everyone,

and welcome to this blog post for Visible Image. This time I have made a trio of ATC’s.

The backgrounds were made with Tim Holtz’ Distress Oxide Inks. I used ‘Fossilized Amber’, ‘Peeled Paint’,
‘Spiced Marmalade’, ‘Broken China’ and ‘Cracked Pistachio’.  Next I stamped the backgrounds with Broken
China Oxide Ink and Jet Black Archival ink.

I added some doodle lines around the edges and then stamped the main images and words.
The were cut out, apart from the map which I tore out, and adhered to the cards. The word discover
was stamped directly onto the card. I added some twine around the middle card and adhered all
three to a piece of water colour card stock. Makes a nice panel I think…

That was it. Here are some close ups:
