Colourful World

Hello! We are here to share more gorgeous inspiration with you here on the blog.

Elina Strömberg has two stunning tags to share with you today…

Hi and happy Thursday!

Even if spring has not really started in Finland yet, my mind is already shifted from dull grey winter to the colourful, blooming season ahead of us. Inspired by the increasing amount of colour in the scenery I made two tags with Visible Image stamps and Distress Oxide colours in the background:

One of the coolest things about new Distress Oxide inks is that you can easily layer the colours and create vibrant colour combinations.

Just dry each colour layer with your heat gun before applying the next layer; new layers will not react with the ones underneath.

For both of these tags I used three different Distress colours. For highlighting the colours even more
it’s always a good thing to use a bit of black or white for contrast; those will make the colours pop!

I added a hint of black with a Visible Image script background stamp. I did not use a mounting block
but held the stamp it in my hand, bending it when stamping the texture on the tag.

I added some texture on the tag by gluing down pieces of a honeycomb chipboard sheet.

Then I stamped the lovely flowers in three sizes on white paper, coloured them with Promarkers and cut out.
Before gluing them on the tags I bent the flower petals gently for creating a dimensional look.

I decorated the flowers with small seed beads.

As much I love the quote text on the ‘Black & White World’ stamp I had to cut it to smaller pieces in order to fit the texts on the tags. In addition I did not want to cover the colourful background complete with the word strips, so leaving out parts of the quote was the way to go this time.

Reassembling the quote on both of the tags was actually a fun thing to do; versatile stamps can be used in so many ways!

Ballerina Journal

Hi there! We are back with more awesome inspiration for you!

Teresa is here to share a fantastic journal page today…

Good afternoon – can you believe it’s almost Easter??? Spring seems to have arrived here in my part of the UK,
the blossom is out on the trees, daffodils are blooming and green leaves are budding all around the garden….

Today I have a journal page to share with you using the beautiful ballerina from the Born To Perform set of stamps.

I prepped my page with gesso then added some patches of yellow paint. Red and black Distress inks
were used through some punchinella stencils to create the dots. Layers of stamping were added next,
using the stars and words from the set.

Once my background was complete I used Archival Jet Black ink to stamp the dancer and the stars (from the Feel The Beat set), adding some Stickles to the stars for sparkle!!

Stamps Used:

Love this card! Fabulous colours and the ‘grungy’ feel works so well with our inky ballerina! Thanks Teresa ♡

How Charming!

Hello and thank you for coming to visit us here on the Visible Image blog today!

Jane Tyrrell is here sharing a fabulous project…

Good Afternoon!

I’m here with my latest Design Team inspiration for Visible Image.

Although most of my time is spent making paper crafts, another of my hobbies is silversmithing and jewellery making. I attend a weekly class and I have just finished a new pendant (which I will share with you on my blog soon). I was recently commissioned to make some more of my bag charms. Here are a couple of examples of what I have made..and yes over the years I have made just about every theme you can imagine… cat lovers, artists, chocolate lovers, musicians.. the list is pretty endless!

My most recent were for; a knitter

some very girlie ones

and one American lady wanted something very “English” so I made an Alice in Wonderland bag charm…with tea themed charms.

I use artisan one of a kind handmade glass lampwork beads in my bag charms, made by my talented friends and attach metal charms.

For my inspiration today I wondered how I could incorporate Visible Image stamps into a special bag charm. Whilst spring cleaning my garden studio ready for my summer crafting I found a packet of Shrink Plastic.. with one last snippet left inside… which got me thinking…. 👀

Grab a cuppa and I will share my step by step….

I used my Face It Stamps

and the Bold and Beautiful sentiment from the Own It set.

These stamps are now all back in stock, having sold out several times recently.

Visible Image will also be at Ally Pally at the weekend…and I will be there on Sunday.

I found that black Ranger Archival ink worked best on my shrink plastic but I did also use a red for the lips.

I die cut out all my “charms” but you can cut the plastic with scissors. I used blue pencil to colour the eyes and added some purple to the lid for eyeshdow.

Try to keep a firm steady pressure when stamping. It’s very easy to slip on the plastic. I used an acryllic block rather than my MISTI as I felt I had better control over the slippery plastic surface.

Once die cut I made a hole in the top of each piece.

To give an idea of scale pre heating I have used a £1 coin. I haven’t seen the new £1 coins yet..have you?
To shrink the plastic I used a heat gun but you can bake it too.

There is no way I could take photos whilst heating the plastic, it does have a mind of its own. One tip I can give is, “Be Brave and don’t Panic!” The plastic will crinkle up and appear to stick..just flip it over and gently tease it with a pokey tool. When it finishes shrinking immediately place an acrylic block on top to flatten it out while it cools down.

Here’s the after photo….look at those diddy charms… you can see that the eyes are about the size of the £1 coin now.

I thought they looked too plain left white so I had a play with some methods of colouring.

I found that the best method for me was to use Sharpie pens, a lot of other mediums just wipe off.

I even coloured the edges and the backs

So then it was time to wire wrap some gorgeous artisan lampwork glass beads from my stash.

add some jump rings to my shrink plastic charms

and put together my Bold and Beautiful Visible Image bag charm….

and a couple of close ups to show the details

I hope that you might be inspired to use your stamps to make some charms to use…not just for jewellery but to use in your card making too. It really is great fun playing with shrink plastic …enjoy 😆 and don’t panic when heating it! If you have any questions do email me…my email address is on the right hand side bar of my blog. I’m always happy to help.

Thanks for visiting today and for the kind comments you take the time to leave.

Back soon,

Bye for now,

Jane x

This is such a fabulous project Jane thank you! Love your ‘bold and beautiful’ flower charm ♡

Trying To Find Some Colour

Hi there! Thanks for visiting our blog!

Veerle Moreels is here sharing her latest Design Team project today…

I love the project I’m showing today …if I may say so.  And that has all to do with this word stamp from Visible Image of course.

How true can this one be…tell me… how black and white can this world sometimes be. How often do you find yourself standing opposite of something or someone, wishing you could just knock it right down on the floor?

But you should never forget there is always that tiny bit of color, even if it’s not visible at that same difficult moment…it really is there <3

Stamps Used:

Black and White World

Scripted Streets

Wow! Stunning tag! Love your interpretation of this quote Veerle, thank you ♡

Don’t Be Afraid Of Change

Hello! Good Morning, Afternoon or Evening!

Gosh there were just not enough hours in the day to blog yesterday. This is what we were doing all day and late into the evening…

It’s the very busy Crafting at Ally Pally show this weekend so there has been so much to do!
We have a new stand this year too, so most of today will be spent creating lots of gorgeous
new display boards for all the stunning samples our wonderful team have created ♡

Today we will hopefully be sharing 3 more projects with you here on the blog.

First up is Pauline Butcher…

Helloooo,

Gosh another week has gone, is it me, or does each year seem to go faster than the last, lol !!!!

It’s time for me to share one of my Visible Image creations with you.

This card is made with a Brusho background, sprinkled and spritzed with water,
just make sure it is totally dry before stamping using Versamark, then heat emboss using White Embossing Powder, and of course the stamps are from the fantastic Stay Wild set.

So quick and easy!

Many thanks for your visit.

Hugs, Pauline xxxxx

What a stunner! Loving that background for the white horses ♡  Thanks Pauline!

“Sometimes what you’re most afraid of doing is the very thing that will set you free”

…what a brilliant quote and how true it is! We were so afraid last year when we made the massive change
to our business, stopping manufacturing the stamps ourselves, but it turned out to be the best decision ever!
It has really allowed us to evolve and grow.

We love how much you love our quotes and sentiments.. been receiving so many awesome comments, messages
and emails lately which mean so much ♡

Discover Your Own Adventure

Hello and thank you for visiting our blog today. We have 4 amazing projects to share with you today!

First up is Teresa Morgan…

It’s time for another creative project using my wonderful Visible Image stamps.

This time I have been playing around with the words, masking and mixing to create some that technically aren’t there!!

My background is a mixture of Brushos and Distress Inks which I then stamped on with Archival Ink. I used Jet Black for the map stamp, and Sepia for the words.

Visible Image stamps - Destination Unknown, Scripted Streets

I took a scrap of card and coloured with Distress Inks then stamped my feature sentiment in black Archival ink, highlighting with a white gel pen. I trimmed the pieces and edged with black Distress ink for definition. They are attached with 3d foam. The arrows are stamped in black (they are a fun addition to the set).

Visible Image stamps - Destination Unknown, Scripted Streets

Finally I stamped the aeroplanes onto white card (I wanted there to be a contrast with the coloured background, and to suggest newspaper.)

Stamps Used:

Scripted Streets

Such an awesome card Teresa thank you ♡ Love how creative you’ve been with the words! And wow what a brilliant background! The paper planes pop off the page!

Young Mind. Wild Heart. Free Soul

Hi there! We are back with lots more inspiration today here on the blog.

First up is Corrie Herriman with not one but three stunning cards…

Hello everyone,
and welcome to my post where today I am sharing three cards I made with Visible Image Stamps. These are all from the newest release.

All three cards have a gelli printed base. The first and third card are from the same gelli print, the middle one is a different one.

The sentiment here was heat embossed twice with two different colours of embossing powder and you can just see the dark powder peeking out at the edges.

She looks so serene, doesn’t she ?

And this one is really simple. I so loved that background that I didn’t want to cover it up too much…

I have used the following stamp sets:

Thank you so much for stopping by today !
Corrie

Wow these gorgeous cards, loving those backgrounds! The sentiment on the first card looks like velvet!
And yes such a serene face ♡ Thanks Corrie!

Go Where Your Dreams Take You

Hi there! We have a stunning card from Jane Tyrrell to share with you next today!

Over to Jane…

Wow what amazing weather we enjoyed last weekend.

I have been watching the bulbs sprouting in my pots and my tulips are looking great…
the first to bloom was this lovely mellow yellow variety.

My lovely tulips inspired me to go for something cheerful and bright for my Monday Design team inspiration piece for Visible Image today.

I got out one of my favourite sentiments from the:

and used the middle and small sized dragonflies from the:

I put a circle mask into the centre of my card and repeat stamped the dragonflies using different yellow and oranges from my Distress inks.

You can just make it out in the bottom right larger dragonfly above that I added a wink of stella glitter to the wings.

I black embossed some extra dragonflies on some inky card and then fussy cut them out.

I added a wink of Stella glitter and then Glossy Accents for lots of shine and shimmer.

Then it was time to put my card together.

It was very hard to photograph as it is so sparkly in real life!

Bye for now,

Jane x

Born To Perform

Hello and thanks for coming to visit us here on the Visible Image blog today.

Pauline Butcher is here with an incredible canvas that we proudly showcased on our Create and Craft TV show last month!

Hi again,

I’m back sharing a project I’ve made, using some fantastic Visible Image Stamps.

The stamp set I used on this canvas was…

Born to Perform

Such a stunning set of stamps to play with.

I found some bits of lace, and other stuff, glued them to the canvas, then got out my Ink sprays
and Dyna Acrylic paints, and played at being Picasso, lol !!!!

I used a Mirror image stamping technique, to add the Ballet dancers.

As you can see from the tutu’s, I used plenty of glitter and seed beads, to give them lots of dimension,
and I added gold Stickles to all the stamped stars.

The sentiment was stamped onto a piece of white card, and fussy cut.

Thanks for visiting, hugs, Pauline xxxx

The detail on this is stunning! And wow those tutus ♡ Thank you Pauline it’s amazing!

Destination Unknown

Hi there, Elina Strömberg is here with more awesome inspiration for you…

Hi!

Today I’m showing you a card and ATC set I made last weekend:

The new Visible Image ‘Destination Unknown’ stamp set can be used in so many ways!

This time I placed the fussy cut stamped paper plane images on a simple inked
background that I decorated with stamped words and die-cut house silhouettes.

I love the fact that the same stamped images work so well on both larger and smaller backgrounds:
I first made the bigger card, but had to try making an ATC, too 🙂

Life Can Be Tough

Hi there, we hope you are having a lovely weekend.

Jane is here on the blog sharing another beautiful card…

It is my turn to share some inspiration for Visible Image.

A very dear friend died very suddenly a couple of weeks ago, and to say we were shocked was an understatement.

He is only a few years older than us and the news really did stop us in our tracks. I am very much a glass half full
kind of girl and I wanted to make something appropriate, without being too morose.

I decided to use one of the new sentiments that Visible Image brought out in their latest release.

It’s just perfect isn’t it?

I also used the little flower accent stamps from the Create it set

I also had a play with the amazing new Oxide inks….they are such fun.

Here are a few process photos;

I also added Cracked Pistachio into the process.

Once I had a foundation of ink on my card I added some stenciling…

and built up layers of ink, adding water into the process too.

I wanted to keep my sentiment really simple so I added drew a  border around the edge using a Micron Pen.
It’s been ages since I have had time to draw one of these borders….very much my dear friend Joanne Fink’s inspiration.

I also added some script from the fab Scripted Streets set using some archival ink

It added just enough pattern to my card to pull everything together.

You can see one of my stamped flowers peeping out too…
I coloured it with gel pens and added some white highlights.

Here is my finished card.

I added some shine to the border with a gel pen.

You can see in the background that I also stamped my flowers using the Oxide inks.
Together with the script stamp it gives a very layered textured background.

Here is one more shot..

Thanks so much for stopping by today. We should all try to live life for the moment.
Remember to tell those you hold close how much you love them, every single day.

Life can be tough……but my darling so are you.

Jane x

No Space For Dreams

Hi there! Thank you for stopping by our blog today! We have lots of gorgeous things to share with you!

Here’s Nicky Gilburt with the ‘wow’ card we promised you yesterday…

Hello, I’m sharing a card today which has never been seen before, despite it being lined up ready to show
on Create and Craft during Visible Image’s stunning show earlier in March… as it sold out!!

So making its debut (from me anyway) today is ‘No space for Dreams’ It’s a stunning set of stamps,
a gorgeous cameo with that unique Mark Alexander touch, beautifully scripted words and a stunning
dream catcher, which I stamped onto heat resistant acetate with Versamark, heat embossed with gold powder,
and then coloured in on the reverse with Sharpie marker pens.

Lightly laid over the background image with thin strips of black foam tape, it almost appears to float. It’s a beauty.

The background of the card itself was achieved through layering up and playing with Distress Crayons,
splashing with water and also, as you’ll see in the stars above, dabbing through a stencil with a wet baby wipe.

You’ll also see the now famous crackle from the Create It set, and the whole card is framed
by me just drawing freehand with a black fineliner and filling in between the lines.

Happy Crafting
Nicky x

We adore it… thank you Nicky!  ♡ Such a fabulous background and the dreamcatcher looks so realistic!

Bold and Beautiful

Hello there! We have yet another stunning project to share with you here on the blog today.

Over to Pauline Butcher…

Hi again,

It’s my turn to share a little Visible Image love, this is a rather large 10″ tall black tag,
and I’ve used the awesome Dare to Swim stamp set on it.

I stamped the small fishes with Versamark, and heat embossed them, using three blues of embossing powders.

The bubbles were stamped using a white ink pad, and the seaweed heat embossed with green powder.
I then stamped the jellyfish with Versamark and heat embossed with a yellow powder, the sentiment was done in the same way.

I coloured the jellyfish using Stickles, and gave it a glow using a white crayon.

Stamps Used:

Dare To Swim

Own It

Thanks so much for visiting,
hugs Pauline xxxxx

Wow such a gorgeous tag, those bubbles are stunning, as is the jellyfish! Thank you Pauline ♡

Breaking Free

Hello! We are back with more gorgeous inspiration as promised!

Over to Teresa Morgan…

It’s time for me to share another fabulous inspiration card for Visible Image.

This week I have returned to the beautiful Stay Wild set, dug out the Brushos and created a stylish card for you.

I masked off the top and bottom of my card base so that I wouldn’t get Brushos everywhere!!

I then added a couple of shades of green to the unmasked section and spritzed with water until I was
happy with the effect. I allowed this to dry (or so I thought!!)before continuing. I used Archival ink to
stamp the horse but the Brusho area was still slightly damp so the image wasn’t as dark as I hoped for.
However, as I was going to add the sentiment to that area anyway I carried on, and the finished result looks fine!

I used some narrow black washi tape (from Flying Tiger) to edge the coloured panel, making it
look as though the horse is breaking free and escaping. The sentiments are stamped with Versamark
and embossed, I added a shadow to the white letters using a fineliner pen.

Stamps Used:

Stay Wild

Awesome card! Love the colours and how the horse is breaking free! Thank you Teresa ♡

Don’t Let Them Dim Your Light

Good Morning! (Or maybe it’s afternoon or evening where you are!). We have another day packed full of inspirational blog posts as we continue to share all the latest creations from our amazing Design Team, and wow have they been creating some awesome stuff!

Next up is Veerle Moreels with a stunning tag and another brilliant video tutorial…

Look at the beautiful quote,  and the beautiful word SHINE which were added to this set when it had a makeover earlier this year.

Now… curious what I made?

QUICK TIP: for those who don’t have a misti or stamping tool: hold your two pieces of paper together by using some temporarily tape at the back while stamping. When you are ready separate them before using the embossing powder ^.^

Stamps used:

Shining Bright

Glimmer of Light

Wow what a gorgeous tag! Again such an incredible interpretation of the brilliant quote! Thank you Veerle ♡

We hope you enjoyed Veerle’s video tutorial.. why not subscribe to her channel.
And you will find more gorgeous projects over on Veerle’s blog.

Close Your Eyes…

Hi! Thank you for visiting our blog today. We have been catching up with all the Design Team inspiration created over the past few weeks with our NEW stamps. If you have missed any of our posts you will find them HERE!

Jane Tyrrell has a stunning card to share with you! Over to Jane…

Wow did you see Visible Image on the Create and Craft show? How am-az-ing it was!! The Face It stamp set sold out in 26 minutes!! And the Curious Cat set within the first half hour. All but a handful of stamps sold out within that hour. Mark’s demos were fabulous and it was such fun spotting all 5 of my cards on the show together with the other awesome samples my fellow Design Team members had created.

This is my first official Design Team post for Visible Image!

I have already shared one of the 5 sample cards I made, Billy’s Fence, last week. If you missed that post you can see it here. You all saw that my sweet Billy Cat was the inspiration for all my cat cards… you all loved seeing his photos so here’s another one ;0)

At the moment I am having to craft in the kitchen as it’s far too cold in my garden studio. Billy sits next to me at the breakfast bar… here he is keeping check on what I’m doing.

Sooo back to my design team card for today. It is the 2nd sample I made for the Create and Craft TV show.

This amazing set is called Face it!

I also used 2 sets of words from the sentiment set, called Own It! which works perfectly with Face It…and of course just about any other stamp you own. This set will also be perfect for my art journal moments.

I made 2 Face it cards, I’ll share the second one soon.. if you saw the show it’s the very retro rainbow striped card. I decided to make an easel card as it’s been so long since I have made one and they are always fun to do, if a little fiddly. The cards I make that sell in Dotty’s Tearooms need to be flat and not too thick for posting, so this was an great opportunity to do something different.

I had a brain storm with my sketch/ideas book (yes I do keep one as I have flashes of inspiration at all sorts of times… often when I wake up and if I don’t write them down straight away I forget them!) for a few days to consult my “inner muse” 😉 and decided to use both the eyes open and closed stamps…. my idea was that the face was “closing her eyes” and “making a wish”. I wanted the wish inside to be quite dream like. I’m afraid I took only a couple of WIP photos… I got so carried away creating and my messy play is not conducive to keep stopping and taking photos. This is what I got up to…

I stamped and embossed both eyes open and eyes shut onto my card. I masked off the open eyes and both set of lips.

For the front of the easel I used Distress inks and blended a background. I added a little bit of stencilling.
I then added some Sparkle Medium through a heart stencil for some glittery texture.

I changed my mind re the sentiment, see the photo below. I decided to cut up the words on snippets of cards and then mount them on a snippet of black card.

I coloured the lips and added Glossy Accents for dimension and left them to dry.

For the inside I masked as before and used a mix of Infusions and distress inks and also added some more Sparkle Medium, this time using a star stencil, my idea was that she was making wish…(stars) hmm are you still with me 😄

Then I put everything together.

Here is my easel card…which I saw as the show opened on TV…. great fun to see it there.
Below are my photos… it’s really hard to show up how glittery it is in real life but here goes…

Here is the front close up

the inside

The “wish” as seen from the side…

I used these 2 sets of sentiments so that when the easel is stood up and the front slotted into place it reads “Close your eyes make a wish”

and here is a collage

Thanks so much for stopping by today, for your ongoing support of my creative journey, and for the kind comments you take the time to leave me on my blog. I really appreciate them.

Have a lovely week.
Bye for now,
Jane x

Destination Unknown

Hello there!

We have some awesome inspiration flying in from Dot Leathbridge in Australia next…

Destination Unknown  is one of the fun new releases from Visible Image.

The paper boats and planes reminded me of so many fun times as a kid… and even now seeing as I work at a school!

Gee, how much fun was it to see Visible Image back on Create & Craft?
The time difference fitted perfectly for me so I was able to watch it too.

This set has so many words to choose from that would be handy for a wide range of projects.
So words, all of them, became the backdrop for this card!

The words were stamped with picket fence distress paint and then gone over with distress inks… with some shadowing added.

The arrows were added to represent Adventure.

Like a treasure map.

The cat from Create It represents Explore.

As cats do!

And the paper planes represent Journey.
The paper planes come in three sizes with is an added bonus too!

Dream

Hi there, we have another incredible card to share with you today, created with our Face it stamps.

Over to Teresa Morgan…

Good Morning

It’s time for another dose of Visible Image inspiration from me. I have been combining the old with the new again this week and have a serene card using the fabulous new Face it! stamps.

I began by spritzing some acrylic sprays on my base card – yellow, red and a slight touch of blue. Once dry I added some larger splats with black, white and green acrylic paint and a fine brush. (Thin the paint with a little water, load the fine brush, then tap the handle to flick spots of paint randomly over the background.)

I stamped and embossed the sentiment onto white card then matted onto black and set aside.

Once completely dry I stamped and embossed the face with black embossing powder, and the Visometry stamps with white embossing powder. I wanted some dimension to the card so embossed some of the smaller shapes onto heat resistant acetate and layered over the larger ones with 3d gel. Some super sparkly Prima gems in the centres finished the card.

Over to Corrie Herriman who has a gorgeous journal page to share…

Hello everyone,
today I am sharing an art journal page I made with Visible Image Stamps.

These stamps are all from the newest release.

I painted the background with acrylic paints.

Here’s a detail of the little sparkly bits around the ballet dancer. They are so much more sparkly in real life !

I have used the following stamp sets:

Thank you so much for stopping by today !

Next up here on the blog we have an awesome card from Teresa created with our Face it stamps!

Mark & Helen xx

Face it… she’s fabulous!

Hi! Thanks for coming to visit our blog. We are having a massive catch up of all the latest Design Team projects,
after neglecting our blog for a few weeks!

There have been so many amazing cards and projects created with our NEW Face it collection,
and Nicky Gilburt is here with a very special canvas she has created with these gorgeous stamps…

Hello and today I am sharing with you my very first ever canvas, created with the Face it and Create It Stamps by Visible Image.

It measures 20 x 20cms and was created in an evening with plenty of stamping, colouring and cutting, and lots of fun!

I simply stamped the features onto the canvas, using a large stamping block behind it, to get a good pressure with my stamp, and coloured from the edge with shades of green distress ink and a blending tool and paintbrush to keep the edges soft.

I added crackles from the fabulous ‘create it’ set, and if you look closely, you’ll see I coloured the eyes in purple,
just to reflect the other-worldliness of the girl. (I also did this on very thin card which I then stuck to the canvas,
so that I could capture the accurate detail of the iris and pupils).

The flowers were simply stamped in Distress ink onto thin card, and then coloured with a waterbrush. I used all three sizes of flower from the Create It set, on some of them, to build up depth a bit more, then finished off the centres with Liquid Pearls.

For the leaves… I simply stamped the flowers in green, and from each flower I snipped out two pairs of leaves and one single, which, by the time they were strategically positioned behind the petals, were unrecognisable as the same thing!
The finishing touch was the butterfly, Visible Image of course, from the ‘Own Kind of Beautiful‘ set from last year.

I am so excited about this project, and even more so that it was featured in the Visible Image Create and Craft TV show
a few weeks ago. I have never seen stamps like this, with which you can construct both human and feline features
(and look out for a mixture of both from my fellow Visible Image design team…!)

Stamps used:

Face it

Create it

Own Kind of Beautiful

Feedback from the release of these sets has been phenomenal, particularly because the crafter can choose the level
of difficulty – she looks as beautiful just stamped onto plain white, or softly coloured paper, as she does all adorned with flowers! So I can’t wait to see lots of interpretations shared in the Visible Image Facebook group.

Happy crafting!
Nicky

Anything Is Possible

Hello! We are back with more incredible inspiration for you!

Veerle has created a stunning tag and has also made a video tutorial for this project too…

A few weeks ago I showed you this card using the Visible Image ‘Believe in Unicorns’ stamp set.

And I have had some more fun using it in not one but two projects ^.^

My daughter, who loves the moon, asked me to make her a bookmark creating a universe and this moon.
Now I never had made a universe background so I had a tryout… and I filmed it for you ^.^

And the bookmark…

So two more projects using the same set yet looking completely different!

Stamps Used:

Believe in Unicorns

Gorgeous projects Veerle thank you ♡ Loving those backgrounds!

You must SEA this inspiration…

Hello! We hope you are enjoying all the inspiration we are sharing here on our blog today.

Next we have two stunning projects from Pauline Butcher which were created for our Trade Show stand back in February. Over to Pauline…

Hello there,

You are getting two projects from me this week!

They are both created using some of the awesome new stamp sets available from Visible Image.

The first project is using the fantastic Dare to Swim set, there are such a fabulous array of extra stamps in this set, I love it…

I found this paddle thing in my MDF stash, and thought it would be perfect for an underwater scene, so using some acrylic paints I painted the background, then added the little fishes and  the sentiment using Versamark and heat embossed with some Blue sparkle Embossing powder. I also popped some bubbles randomly around using some white ink. The jelly fish and the seaweed were stamped onto heat resistant acetate with Versamark, and heat embossed using different colours of Embossing powder, then fussy cut. I painted on the back of the jellyfish, using Starlight paints.

For this next very simple card I used the great Stay Wild set, a must for horse lovers…

I started off making a background with some Brusho paints, then stamped the jumping horse with Versamark,
and heat embossed it with white powder, I also did the same for the sentiment.

On top of the white embossing, I sprinkled some frantage powder, and some other powders,
and heated from underneath, this gave a sort of splashed look.

Stamps used:

Dare To Swim

Stay Wild

Don’t forget to enter the Visible Image ‘Show and Tell’ challenge, for a chance to win a £25 voucher
to spend on some new stamps over in the Facebook group!

Thanks for popping by, hugs, Pauline xxxx

These are both so awesome! Thank you Pauline ♡
Loving the stunning jellyfish in those fabulous colours… and those bubbles ♡ ♡ ♡
The effects created around the horse are superb!

Born To Perform

Hi there! We have so much fabulous inspiration coming your way here on the blog today.

Our Born To Perform set has been incredibly popular and our Design Team are loving it too!

Teresa Morgan is here on the blog today with a gorgeous card she has created with this stamp set…

Thanks so much to you all for the amazing response you have given to all of us at Visible Image over the past month –
Helen and Mark have put together an amazing collection of stamps to mix and match with the existing range,
and the team has been bursting with inspiration. We also would love to say a big hello and thank you to all the new
Facebook group members who have been proudly sharing their awesome projects with everybody – we all love to see what you are making!!!

Anyway, on to my project for this week – I have been playing with the fabulous Born to Perform set and my Brushos!!

I used Versamark ink and white embossing powder to stamp the words across the background. This acted as a resist
for the Brushos which I sprinkled lightly over the card then spritzed with water to release the colour.

Can you guess which colours I used??? Surprisingly only two – black and gamboge.
I love the rainbow effect these created as the colours split and blended!

The ballerina is stamped and embossed onto heat resistant acetate and attached with Pinflair Glue gel
so that she is ‘floating’ over the background. I added a few black iridescent gems to her tutu to add some
dimension and a subtle touch of bling. I finished by adding a shadow to the words using a fineliner pen.

I know a lot of you own Brushos – why not have a play with them this week along with your new stamps
and share in the Facebook group – we can’t wait to see what you create.

Black and White World

Hello there! Firstly we have to apologise for neglecting our blog, and you, for the last few weeks! To say it has been busy would be an understatement.. there have just not been enough hours in the day and we have of course had to focus our time on the orders. We are really sorry that we haven’t shared the amazing inspiration our incredible Design Team have been creating.. but hopefully if you follow us on social media you will have seen some of their fabulous projects over the past few weeks.

So, we are having a HUGE catch up here on the blog (as promised a few weeks ago!)

We have so many awesome quotes and sentiments, not only in our sets but as single stamps too, and we added some superb new quotes to this collection last month, which we aptly call ‘Express Yourself‘.. it includes quotes about creativity and colour, and heartfelt sentiments that can mean the world to someone going through a tough time. We know you will want and need many of them, and of course the fonts and designs by Mark are stunning!

Today we are sharing an absolutely gorgeous card that Dot Leathbridge has created  with one of our NEW quotes…

Black and White World is so much fun to play with!

I’ve teamed the words up with some flowers from the ‘Create It’ set.

This set has 11 pieces in it which can be used as extras on any card that you make.
These flowers are fast becoming a favourite of mine… no doubt you will see them being used more and more!
Especially as they have 3 different sizes on the stamp set.

Some of the words were embossed in black, and some in white. The middle section was embossed with white
so it was easy to just colour with alcohol markers to make the word ‘pop’ that little bit more.
Embossing powder when heat set is shiny – so it is easy to colour with anything with an alcohol base.

Stamp sets used are:

Black and White World

Create It

Thank you Dot, we adore this card ♡ The interpretation of the quote is perfect!

You will find more of Dot’s stunning cards and projects over on her blog.

Coming up next is a fabulous card by Teresa Morgan.

Welcoming Jane Tyrrell

Hi there! Thanks for visiting our blog today. It’s been an incredibly busy week shipping all the orders from last week’s trade show and finalising all the preparations for this Saturday’s show on Create and Craft TV! We will give you all the details for that tomorrow, first of all we have some exciting news to share…

Last year we had some guest Design Team members, one of which was the wonderfully talented Jane Tyrrell. We recently asked Jane if she would create some samples with some of our NEW stamps and she kindly agreed. We were so impressed by them that we have now welcomed her back to the team as a full Design Team member!

Here’s a little bit about Jane along with her first official blog post as a DT member…

Jane Tyrrell

Hello I’m Jane from Jane’s Journal and after working for 34 years, until April 2016, as an NHS physiotherapist I am now free to follow my crafting journey.

I have been creative since I could hold a pencil and I have been paper crafting for over 15 years, more seriously since 2012. I am also a silversmith, jewellery maker, keen photographer, gardener and occasional cake decorator.  I have been lucky enough to have some of my cards published and I now sell my cards at a local vintage tea rooms.  I enjoy using different crafting techniques and styles and you will see me create anything from shabby chic, vintage to cute. I make cards, art journal pages, tags, mixed media pieces and altered objects and I love playing with new products. However my first love is, and always will be, stamping. I still own my very first stamp! I discovered Visible Image stamps in their very earliest days and I have been delighted to watch their meteoric rise in the crafting world. Their stamps really offer something different in this very competitive crafting market. I am thrilled to now be joining their team and to be a part of their ongoing creative journey.

I write a blog where I share my inky creativity as well as my photography. I am totally inspired by my surroundings and by Mother Nature. I am lucky enough to have a little garden studio where I create during the warmer months of the year, surrounded by my flowers and “helped” by my sweet cat Billy.

I have been very busy with some secret crafting for the last couple of weeks, which I can finally share with you. You may remember that I did some Guest Design work for my favourite stamp company, Visible Image, last year from September to December?

They had a new stamp release in February which has taken the crafting world by storm as they are so fabulous. Helen, of Visible Image contacted me a few weeks ago and asked if I would be interested in making some samples for their latest TV appearance on Create and Craft, using 2 of the new sets. Of course I said yes and once my stamps arrived I shut myself away for a few days and made them 5 cards.

My regular blogging buddies know that Billy our cat features big time in our life.
He loves climbing wall and fences and can often be spotted sitting on them.

So one of the sets I chose to work with just had to be their awesome cat set. It’s called Curious Cats…

Isn’t it brilliant?

You can also see all the new releases over in the Visible Image shop.

I thought I would share my first cat sample here today. It may very well be visible in the background on Create and Craft this Saturday, 4th March. I shall keep an eye out and wave if I spot it 😉. The show is on at 10am (GMT) on Sky 674 or Freeview 23 or you can watch it via the Create and craft Website here. I have set up my recorder in case I’m not around at 10am.

Here is my card….inspired by my sweet Billy……I have called it Billy’s Fence. He also has a friend called Blackie who visits him and looks just like the cats walking along the fence here…

2017-03-02 Visible Image - Curious Cats - stamps - Jane Tyrrell

I made the fence with lots of DecoArt paints on card. I also used some crackle paint to give lots of worn texture.
I then distressed it…literally by removing some panels and added the large cat face.

The small walking cats were embossed and fussy cut out

I created a sunny scene using Distress inks and used the cat’s whiskers stamp from the set for my grass.

To finish off my card I added glossy accents to the eyes and nose.

I even decorated the inside…and used the sweet paw print and the sentiment which also comes with the set.

Here is my card once more…

2017-03-02 Visible Image - Curious Cats - stamps - Jane Tyrrell

I had to share this photo too…whilst photographing my other samples Billy got in on the act in my light tent.

He is certainly true to the sentiment eh…..😼😻😺

I am really looking forward to sharing their onward creative journey as part of their Team.

Thanks so much for stopping by today.

Take care 💓
Bye for now,
Jane x

We absolutely love this card, very clever designing! It’s very ‘curious cats’ indeed!
And isn’t Billy adorable in those photos.. I think he is wondering who his new friend is!!!

We are so happy to welcome you to the team Jane, and cannot wait to show off some of your other samples!
They are stunning ♡

We will be back with more NEW stamps inspiration soon.

Thanks again for visiting today.

Shine Bright

Hello! We hope you have enjoyed seeing all the latest inspiration our amazing team have been creating with our NEW stamps!

This final post is sharing a few of the incredible cards created with our NEW Shining Bright stamp set.

Shining Bright Promo

Just look at the clever designing by Mark… LOVE the rays of light over the word SHINE and the lightbulbs are awesome!

The quote is so inspiring and the words mean so much to us.. especially at the moment!

‘Don’t let someone dim your light simply because it’s shining in their eyes’

(keep moving ahead and let your light shine even brighter!)

These stamps also work brilliantly with another very popular set we released last summer…

Glimmer of Light

Stay Curious!

Hi again! Yes we are back with MORE gorgeous inspiration… think this is our 10th blog post this weekend!!!

We’ll pass you over to Nicky Gilburt…

I am SO in love with this cat. I don’t think there is an EASIER stamp than this one, Curious Cats, to start from, but the effects you can achieve are incredible. Those eyes are just amazing. I don’t think I’ve ever seen a stamped image that’s so realistic. Anyhow, enough of my enthusing…

Created on a background of….yes… Distress Crayons! I blended some neutral tones and then picked up some distress ink colour in greens and orangey browns, making them watery and then making long drips across my card with a paintbrush. A bit of drying time and then I repeated the process at the other side. So rather than top to bottom, you get a bit of a cross stripe. And my tatty tabby was born!

Once I’d stamped and coloured the cat’s features (because my base card was coloured I stamped an extra pair of eyes onto thin white card and cut them out to stick over the original ones, you can’t tell!) I added the whiskers (all stamped with Versafine Onyx Black), and a little bit of depth with my Spiced Marmalade ink pad and a blender, and some paws and the repeated word ‘Curious’ across the top and bottom. It only remained to stamp the sentiment in black, and mount the image, and the card was complete.

Happy crafting!
Nicky

Purrfect background for our cat Nicky! Love it.. thank you ♡

Believe…

Hello there! Veerle Moreels has another wonderful card to share with you today…

I’m here again with… yep a project made using one of the new releases of  Visible Image. When my daughter saw this set she immediately fell in love, ok ok I’ll admit i fell just as hard ^.^  My daughter just fell in love with this beautiful moon stamp and me… I fell for the clouds.  For now I used them as a cloud but I can tell you I do have another idea in my head for them ^.^

But today a card where it’s actually one of the stars that get’s the full attention. I kept the card CAS and monochromatic ( shouldn’t be any surprise with me) only the star really had to shine so I used metal foil to put it in the spotlight…

Creativity is…

Hello! We are back to share another incredibly inspiring project created with some of our awesome NEW stamps!

Over to Teresa Morgan…

The response to this year’s new release of stamps has been amazing!! We are all thrilled at how much you love these new designs, and are enjoying looking at what you are making with them. Today I have a funky card using one of the new sentiments, and the Face It! stamps:

2017-02-26 Visible Image - Face stamps - Face it - creativity quote - Teresa Morgan

I took some card and spritzed some zingy Dylusions spray inks onto it  to add a bright splash of colour.
Once dry I stamped and embossed the eyes onto it. I also stamped and embossed the eyes onto a piece of white card
and carefully cut them out, then glued in place over the coloured piece. (I felt this would give a cleaner result than
masking them off before spraying as the inks are very wet and may have seeped under the mask).

I added a little colour to the iris’s with Distress Ink.

I then took some black card and tore a strip out of it, then arranged over my eyes so that they were peeping through the gap.

I stamped and embossed the sentiment, matting the ‘creativity’ onto an offcut of inked card.
The remainder of the words were stamped and embossed directly onto the black card.

Dare To Swim

Hi there, we still have a few more stunning projects to share with you today here on the blog, as we catch up with everything our incredible team have been creating with our NEW stamps!

Over to Elina Strömberg…

Hi!

Today I’m sharing with you a card I made using the new ‘Dare To Swim’ stamp set by Visible Image:

2017-02-26 Visible Image - jellyfish stamp - dare to swim - Elina Stromberg

Aren’t those stamps gorgeous!

I stamped the images on light blue cardstock, and coloured them with a few blue and green Promarker colours.
The darker blue shades I inked with Distress inks.

For the white highlights I used a gel pen, and the white quote I stamped and heat-embossed on a piece of white vellum.
Attaching vellum especially on a dark background is sometimes tricky as the glue dots may show through.

The easiest solution is to fold the ends of the vellum strip on the back of the card and not to use glue on the card front at all.

The dark blue plants are die-cut using a Sizzis/Tim Holtz die from some time back.
Before gluing them on the card front I added some lighter colours on the leaves (with a white gel pen and a light blue pastel pen). Done!

Life Can Be Tough

Hello! Yes we are back with even more gorgeous inspiration! If you have missed any of our catch up posts this weekend you will find them HERE!

Over to Veerle Moreels who has a beautiful card and a video tutorial for you…

Today I have a CAS card made with the Face it stamps and another beautiful words stamp.

I have to admit…these words already ended up on a lot of cards, I’m completely in love with it.

Even though it’s a CAS card I did film it, just to show how easy it is to keep the eyes nice and white…

The end result…

Create Yourself

Hi there! We have an incredible project to share with you next, together with step by step photos of how it came together. We’ll pass you over to Nicky Gilburt…

2017-02-26 Visible Image - face stamps - unicorn - believe quote - Nicky Gilburt

Today I am sharing a big piece of work, it took me a few hours to accomplish this,
but I enjoyed every minute, even though it was challenging, and at times I didn’t breathe…!

This 20x20cm on Mixed media card was put together using these sets from Visible Image:

Believe in Unicorns

Face it!

Face shape mask and stencil

So it was quite the creative play!!!

1. I began by making my watery cloudy background on a piece of A3 Mixed Media Cardstock.
I used Nuvo Aqua Flow pens in Indigo Dawn, Azure Blue and Aqua Splash. In turn, and drying
with a heat gun between each colour, I applied strokes of brush colour to my glass mat, spritzed it
with water and pressed my card stock onto it. By drying it I had more control over what went
where and I built up a whole A3 background very quickly.

Then I selected the area on which to work and cut it down to 20 x 20cm size.

2. First stamp was the moon, the clouds and the stars. I heat embossed the moon and stars with
silver pearl, having positioned it so that I could then stamp one of the eyes and brows over it

3. I brushed over the eyelashes with an embossing pen and added some ultra fine clear
sparkling embossing powder over it, for a touch of glitter

4. Then I stamped the unicorn. and used a mask to cover it as I stamped the nose and mouth with
Archival ink. Then I added more clouds with distress ink. Also a few more stars

5. By applying the mask over the face and rubbing a blending tool with a little colour on, outwards,
I gave her some real definition in seconds

6. From the Create It set I added the tree, some falling leaves, and then some cracks, some flowers…
I just played with the piece until I was happy

7. I tweaked the unicorn by adding touches of white pen, just by following the picture
on the front of the stamp set

8. Penultimately – the words. I used white pen to highlight the ‘Believe’ sentiment, but I stamped
and embossed the ‘Create Yourself’ in white, and used lilac distress ink and a tiny paintbrush to create shadow on the page

9. And finally – a bit of bling – sequins, randomly planned and distributed,
glued with strong pva, and one gemstone, right over the splatted ink under the face’s left eye!

Happy crafting!
Nicky

This is incredible Nicky! Thank you so much ♡ You can just gaze at it for ages.. there is so much to discover!
Love the ethereal feel to it… magical! Really shows off how much you need the mask and stencil to play with too.

Curious Cats

We are back with some more fabulous NEW stamps inspiration for you. Over to Pauline Butcher…

Hello,

It’s my turn to share a creation using some if the awesome new stamp sets from Visible Image Stamps.

I’ve used a couple of sets on this card…

2017-02-26 Visible Image - stamps - Cat face stamp - Pauline Butcher

I am totally in love with the Curious Cats set, such a gorgeous face….. anyway,
I decided to make a scene background, using Distress Inks, I blended the ink,
added a couple of trees from the ‘Create It’ set, and used the ends of the whiskers for the grass.

I stamped the two small cats in the foreground, using Black Versafine, then stamped the pussy’s face
and the sentiment with Versamark, and heat embossed using Black Glint Embossing powder by Wow.

I bleached out the eyes and nose, and coloured them with Distress inks.

Lastly I added a bit of contour to the face, using a pencil.

Stay Wild

Hi there! More amazing NEW stamps inspiration coming your way! Over to Teresa Morgan…

It’s time for another new stamp project, and this week I have been using the amazing Stay Wild set.

2017-02-26 Visible Image - inky wild horse stamp - stay wild - Teresa Morgan

I stamped and embossed the beautiful horse using Versamark ink and white embossing powder.
I wanted to create a ‘herd’ so stamped three times, overlapping the image each time. I then created
some definition by inking the splatter edge of the stamp with black Archival ink and stamping randomly
over the embossing powder. This created a more layered effect rather than one flat area of white.

My background is a mixture of watercolour paint, Neocolour II crayons, Karisma pencils and fineliner.
I also stamped in some crackles using one of the Create It! set of stamps. I finished by adding some
shading around the horses using a charcoal pencil.

Swim Deeper

Hello! We are back with more gorgeous inspiration as promised.. show much to share with you today!

Over to Dot Leathbridge…

Dare To Swim is one of the new stamp releases from Visible Image.

Blue Bottles are the jellyfish in our region that we often see washed up on the beach… painful too if you go swimming when they are about! They are only tiny, but they pack a fair punch.

This set has everything! From jellyfish, to weed, to fish, to bubbles – along with a sentiment.

For this card my distress crayons were used for the background.

It gives a lovely muted look and reminds me of what it looks like underwater.
The drips are done with the crayons too – so versatile!
